Batman X Romance.. definitely a different type of read.
Was a fun read! Twists, turns, action, romance, some dark elements, recommend this one to all who enjoy these types of tropes
Only issue I had was when trying to find the TWs, the link/image directing to TWs isn’t working.

Imagine a romance involving a morally grey Batman, and you'd have some idea what to expect from this book.

Alexander Clark survived for eight years on an island after a plane crash that killed his brother. He returns to his home city with a renewed passion for justice. As Dark Mercy, he exacts uncompromising vengeance on those preying on the weak and less fortunate. What he didn't expect was for high school crush Charlotte to walk back into his life.

Charlotte's trying to make a new life for herself and her young daughter, after surviving an abusive marriage. Her husband refuses to divorce her, determined to claim what he views as his property. As fascinated as everyone else with the mysterious Dark Mercy, she falls for Alexander without any idea that they're one and the same man.

I enjoy a little romance from time to time, and enjoyed this, but I'm not a connoisseur. It has its dark moments (spousal abuse), so consider that a trigger warning. The vigilante angle is less prominent than most such stories I read and watch, but what's there is well written and intense. There are a couple of mysteries that, absent any sequel, the reader must resolve for themselves, but I like that in a book. Overall, this was a fast and rewarding read, and if such a sequel were forthcoming, I'd pick it up in a heartbeat.

This was a fun read with different tropes throughout. The author mentions being inspired by Batman and some reviews mention Batman too, however, for me as I read the book there were more similarities with the TV show, 'Arrow' than I found to Batman. This story has action, romance, and some violence but a perfect blend of them all.

Alexander Clark is the MMC. He comes from a wealthy family and has just returned to Tempest City after being lost on an island for 8 years after a plane crash. He has a new passion for justice and ridding the city of criminals and he does this as the vigilante, Dark Mercy.

Charlotte is the FMC and I adored her character. She has just returned to Tempest City with her daughter, Elsie after leaving her abusive husband. (Read TW's & take care of yourself first). She doesn't let her past hold her back, she is a strong woman!

Thank you to author Amity Grey for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Imagine a romance where the hero is a morally grey vigilante — and you've got Finding Dark Mercy. This book very much reminded me of the TV show Green Arrow, or perhaps a more known character, Batman.

From the first page to the last, this book has a pulse that races faster than a Gotham chase scene. It's got the thrill, the intensity, and the romance. Did I mention the billionaire vigilante? Yes, you’re in for a wild ride.

At the heart of this story is Alexander Clark, a man who survived a plane crash, only to return home with a thirst for justice. He essentially wages war against the criminals who prey on the weak.

Enter Charlotte, his high school crush who’s been trying to rebuild her life after escaping an abusive marriage. Unbeknownst to her, the mysterious vigilante she’s captivated by is the same man she once knew, now changed and hiding in plain sight. Talk about a twist!

The chemistry between Charlotte and Alexander is electric. They had a past, and despite the years, the connection never fizzled out. Reading about them navigating their reunion while he tries to protect her and her daughter, Elsie, adds emotional layers to this action-packed story. Alexander’s protectiveness over Charlotte is swoon-worthy—he’s the kind of guy you’d want in your corner when the world’s out to get you.

Finding Dark Mercy is not just romance and action, but it weaves in family, friendships, and fierce loyalty. The secondary characters also bring the story to life in such a way that you’ll find yourself invested in them just as much as the main duo.

What really grabbed me about this book was the balance between the darker themes (spousal abuse, moral ambiguity) and the redeeming love story. The sense of mystery lingers and will have you scratching your head a few times.

If you're looking for a romance with intensity, mystery, and an unforgettable hero, Finding Dark Mercy is your next book.

Vigilante justice, all the Batman vibes including the secret identity, a damsel in distress that our sexy hero has been kind of sort of in love with forever, and the single mom thing that gives the sexy hero a plethora of opportunities to just melt your heart with and which he fully takes advantage of, in a fast paced read that is all kinds of super hero fantastic! It’s a little gritty, a little raw, full of heavy topics, super supportive family, close knit friends, and all kinds of mayhem that only one guy seems to be willing to do anything about, his name is Dark Mercy and he’s got the masked, handing out his own brand of justice, super hot thing going on, and it’s working for him.

An absolutely excellent read for any and all readers who have a thing for masked heroes that operate just over that morally grey line. Alexander is the perfect billionaire/masked hero, keeping everything nice and separate as he rids his city of drug dealers, abusers, and rapists, and runs a restaurant with his best friend on the legitimate and legal side. And he gets hands down even hotter when he runs into Charlotte again, all the touch her and die starts flying around, and her daughter Elsie dubs him a white knight which promptly leads to pretty much anything she wants because she’s his princess. It has a pretty great plot of horrible, like really horrible, ex tries everything to get his wife back, it doesn’t shy away from being dark but definitely has a little light, mostly in how freaking cute and touching it is how much Alex adores Elsie, and in true super hero fashion it wraps everything up neat and tidy but just like every Marvel movie ever, you could always go for another exciting installment.

If Amity writes its, I am going to read it. Hands down never a question. And this billionaire vigilante romance….NAILED IT! I could not put this book down, I loved it. I cried a few times reading this book and even got a little mad. IYKYK! My heart was beating out of my chest and I need to get to the next page to find out what was happening.

Charlotte is a single mom who is just trying to escape her husband who she has been trying to divorce for years. She is an amazing mother and works hard. She has an amazing support system of her friends and her ex’s family who she now considers family.

Alexander, he is the ultimate sexy billionaire vigilante. Everyone thought he was dead, but he survived a plane crash and came back to his home with the agenda to protect his city from the bad and crime, which brought on Dark Mercy.

The connection between Char and Alex was electric. They had known each other when they were teens and the connection never broke. Alex just wanted to protect her and her daughter. He was so thoughtful and protective. Of course Chad is skeptical because her ex was not a good man and how could she trust love again.

Elsie is a very smart and intuitive 10 year old little girl. You can’t help but love the full of life child.

I loved the smaller characters just as much as the main characters. Mikey, Pheebs, Ana Mae, Elisabeth, Jackson, Mr. Oliver, and Christian. They all play very important rolls in the story and you love them all.

I absolutely adored this book. As someone who loves Marvel and DC this book appeased my geeky side. I also liked that the author didn't make it all about Dark Mercy and there were a lot of elements and the world building made for an amazing story. The FMC is such a strong woman and has endured so much and throughout the story she continues to face hardship and traumatic experiences which really make your heart break for her. As a survivor, I will say that you need to read the trigger list before reading. It is not an easy read for survivors but if you don't get triggered easily then it will be so worthwhile reading this book. The MMC, has his own past trauma which has lead to him becoming the vigilante. As the vigilante he is wonderfully dark and dangerous and I absolutely love his catchphrase. I also like that the author hasn't made him have any superpowers, he gives batman vibes and I am here for it. When he is not being the masked vigilante, he is a fiercely loyal, kind, caring, heartwarming man who makes you melt so many times throughout this book. There are so many wholesome moments in this book. A few will break you, others will just completely fill you with the warm and fuzzies. The book ends on a cliffhanger that could make the book a standalone or has the perfect set up for a second book in a series. Either way, I cannot wait to get the physical copy on my shelf to read whenever I want.

The instant protectiveness & helpfulness of Alexander had me cheering! 👏
As always with this author, this book is so pretty! Cute rose designs as chapter headers 🌹
Multi-POV starts fast, which I like.
This was a fun read! I was questioning some characters a bit too hard until I fully embraced the found family vibes. (I'm not very trusting, haha) The trauma is real and had me sweating a couple of times!

ARC REVIEW 🚨

As always, another winner. Funny story- while reading I thought to myself “wow this gives me Batman vibes” which I was totally there for as I’m a nerd in that way. At the end of the book the author says she had inspiration from Batman 🦇

This was a dark vigilante who did not mind getting his hands dirty. Actually preferred to kill those who he felt were destroying his city. He falls in love with his childhood friend and will do anything needed to protect her and her daughter. The relationship between him and the FMC and her daughter was the best. I absolutely loved it. There was some heartbreak (yes I was really upset) and action, and romance and spice and just everything that you typically find in. Amity book. Glad I preordered this ❤️

Also- it was very clear at the end of the book this was a standalone BUT I wouldn’t mind another. I’m just saying.

5/5 ⭐️

Holy plot twists! Crime being punished by a vigilante trying to clean up the city, my favorite type of hero 😍

Charlotte, single mom and domestic abuse survivor is living her life with her 10 year old daughter. She’s trying to stay safe from her abusive husband who won’t sign divorce papers, when she runs into her high-school best friend who just happened to be rescued from an island after a plane crash. Said friend just happens to be the Batman of Tempest City delivering justice to those who need it🤷🏼‍♀️ oh did I mention he’s a hot vigilante🥵

Poor Charlotte goes through so much with her violent husband but she gets her HEA❤️

The book was well written and flowed smoothly. It wasn’t slow and I quite enjoyed reading it. Please let there be a second book🙏🏻

✨️ ARC REVIEW✨️

This is a Dark Billionaire Vigilante Romance told with Dual POV. I absolutely LOVED this. Charlotte is a single mother raising her 10 year old daughter Elsie. She's trying to find her way in life since leaving her very abusive husband, who's she's been trying to get a divorce from for years. Charlotte's childhood best friend Alexander returns after being presumed dead for several years. With there being a steamy attraction between the two friends, will Alexander be able to save Charlotte and Elsie from the hands of the man who has done nothing but hurt them?! While our author got her inspiration from Batman, Im Feeling Arrow vibes! You should absolutely add this to your TBR!!

I love these characters so much already. I need to know if everything goes well for Alexander and Charlotte! I love her daughter also can't forget about her too! This book just made me realize that most people fight for what they want, especially when they have been abused and traumatized by someone that they thought they loved or that person loved them. They don't need to control everything you do mentally and emotionally. With the right partner, you can be loved correctly ❤️ and that's what Charlotte found with Alexander. This got my emotions on going cause I've been through so much just like her in a way, this just about one of my favorite books now that this author wrote of hers which is the first I've read. I can't wait for more of hers to read!

I was in love with this book before I even got to chapter 2. The characters completely sucked me in. I was a single mom (to a little girl) at a young age and when I was even younger I was in a very toxic relationship with a guy who stalked me and scared the hell out of me, so I was able to relate to Charlotte so much on different levels. I love and admire how strong Charlotte was because it is not easy to be a single parent, and it is also not always easy to protect our children from others who are supposed to love them. Also, I love Alexander! I mean, who doesn’t love a hot, billionaire, vigilante who was born to be a father and would do anything to protect the two girls he loves the most?!

Amity Grey did it again!! She wrote a book that made me lose sleep because as soon as I picked it up, I needed to finish it.

With Batman as an inspiration, Amity wrote a true vigilante story, but for me, it gave me even bigger green arrow vibes. And as a lover of the green arrow, this book was right up my alley.

The found family aspect, in combination with the friends to lovers aspect, makes this book everything you need if you are looking for a quick, fun read with a really good plot.

The characters are written in a way it makes you love or hate them. And because of it, I got really infested, and also had to wipe some tears.

I am alll in on vigilante justice!! This book will put you through all the feels including sneaky ones. Charlotte really went through so much! Her resilience, drive, and need to protect the ones she loves while sacrificing her own happiness is just amazing. Alexander our vigilante, fighting for his city and his loved ones after going through his own crazy stuff! All of the characters and relationships are perfect! We of course have our 2 villains, who you will deff hate and I need to know what's gana happen with the other one. 👀 If you like Arrow or Batman, you'll love this book!! I can't wait for the next one!!!

This is so incredibly good!
Charlotte is dealing with an impending divorce from her abusive, manipulative husband, Blake.

Alex, a billionaire vigilante, is determined to protect both Charlotte and her adorable daughter, Elsie, while also dealing with the current crisis in the city. This story is so rich in depth, I couldn't put my Kindle down. Every character adds something interesting to the narrative. I'm still trying to piece together clues because I need to figure out who tf that was at the end.

A dark masked vigilante that is trying to rid his city of crime. Alexander falls in love with his childhood best friend Charlotte who is a single mother trying to divorce her abusive husband. I loved Alexander's relationship with Elsie (Charlotte's daughter). I think what made me love this book the most, was that you get the side characters POV as well. This book had romance, spice, violence, action, heartbreak. I will say, that it was an abrupt end to the book and wished there was more to the ending... but other than that, I loved this book.

I really enjoyed this book. It was totally giving Batman vibes. I've never read another book like this one and loved how it was so unique in that way. I love a good morally grey MMC and Alexander is definitely swoon-worthy. I love how much he cares for Char and her daughter Elsie. This book had a lot of action, which I loved. Poor Charlotte had to deal with so much and I'm so glad she finally caught the break she deserved. This was a very quick read for me and kept me hooked. Highly recommend giving it a try!

I have no words, damn…. Well dark unhinged twisted, these things are given when it comes to authors book but it wasn't just that. It wasn't just about Spice and Romance but also so much mystery and suspense. The masked Dark Mercy who is unknown to all, is on a mission to remove the bad guys. But it's not always simple. I loved the take which was there in this story. It was intriguing and story kept me hooked. I liked Dark Mercy’s character and also the female lead. I enjoyed it as much as all other books by the Author. Looking forward for more.

Amity did it again with another knockout book!
Alexander and Charlotte are amazing. The storyline with Blake was emotional and makes you want to see his downfall. When you first get into the book you want Blake to fall but as the book progresses and the storyline unfolds you have hatred for him. If you read this book be prepared for your emotions to go all over the place. You will experience happiness, sadness, and hate at the very least.

*drools* Batman fantasy reinstated a billionaire vigilante romance all that was missing is a catch phrase.

Finding dark mercy is an action packed read with twist and turns and a bit of spicy romance to keep up dark mercy fantasy running wild. Unlike Batman he doesn’t capture the bad guys he unalives them such better justice if you ask me.

If you like the adult version of your love childhood superhero books this one is for you, action, blood, twist, murder, romance and more.

Wow! This was a great standalone book! The emotional roller coaster had me kicking my feet in joy sometimes, and almost in tears others. There was such a strong connection to the characters as they were well developed and thought out. I felt for them and would get angry with them and felt all their emotions like my own. It was really well written and reminds me of Batman or Arrow. There are some hard scenes with abuse but overall it is an amazing read and I blew through it!

This was such a wild ride! Alexander is the definition of intense—dangerous at night, powerful by day, and completely obsessed with protecting Charlotte. I loved how their relationship had history, making their connection feel deeper, but Charlotte’s trauma made it a slow burn in a really believable way. The action had me hooked, and the steam? Just the right amount. If you’re into protective, morally gray heroes and second-chance romance with a bit of darkness, this one’s worth picking up!

Finding Dark Mercy features all of the best things - written together perfectly by one of my favourite authors!
A billionaire vigilante, crime, mystery, heartbreak, romance, and some spice sprinkled in🔥

This book broke my heart, started putting the pieces back, and then decided to rip it apart and crush it before finally healing it. And I wouldn't exchange the experience for anything because Char and Alex (and all the others) have my entire heart now!🥺🥺
