Bryan O'Connell was heart-broken. He'd had to make choice that put him on the outs with the people he called his family. He'd had to watch one more of his brothers fall in love, and to a girl he thought he wanted. All he craved was a family of his own and a woman who would stand by him through it all. When a one-night stand turned to something more, would he be able to save her?
Claudia Nowak, the spare of the Chicago Polish Syndicate, was saved by a dark-haired grump in a bar and it changed her life forever. She'd always wanted to be free of the Syndicate and her father, but the hold they had over her was a web she might not be able to escape-unless the dark-haired angel saved her. But would she be able to trust him?
I have been a fan of Alina Martyn since she very kindly allowed me the chance to recieve and review my first ARC ever - From My Past the first book in this series.
I absolutely loved the world she created and I love Alina's writing style - she combines the dark elements of mafia romances with strong, confident FMCs and MMCs that are the leaders of the pack but are also sensitive, sweet, caring, funny and once they fall in they love they definitely fall into the touch-her-and-die, burn-the-world-down for her category of lovers.
Bryan is a character that has not had as much on page interaction as the other characters, although he did have more of a role in Embracing My Future, which ends right as Through Time begins, so I wasn't quite sure how I felt about him. Plus Through Time had a LOT going on.
But oh my goodness! Of all the Men of the Clan Bryan is my favourite! He's quiet, sensitive and feels much more deeply than you think and he yearns for the love that all of his Clan brothers found. And once he finds it (I'm not giving spoilers) he is 100% all in! And he's SO funny!
And Claudia! She had my heart from the very beginning. Like all of Alina's FMCs she's strong, independent, funny, loyal and feels real. When she and Bryan connects you can feel that they are a perfect fit.
These two are my favourite couple of the series, and my favourite book as well - which is saying a lot because I loved each one.
This is book four in the clan series. Each book is amazing on its own, but this one has something for everyone. Mafia, love at first sight, second chance romance. Bryan seems like just the tech guy for the Irish mafia, but when he meets Claudia. There is nothing he won't do for her.
