Beautifully written. Deep subjects are done justice in the character’s careful examination of their thoughts, their evolution, and most importantly the effect his changing mind has on the connection with their family. The books is a theological examination of the new atheist movement through the lens of a coming of age of sorts. Following all the rich ideas is a pleasure as the language of deep abstractions is put down so beautifully.

I really enjoyed this read. Broken Water by Nick Perry is an introspective and thought-provoking story that stays with you.

It takes you through a journey of self-discovery and honesty, and asks real questions that challenge you to think about who you are, what you believe in, and how you find your own truth in a complex world.

That kind of journey impacts everything around you -- from your relationships to your sense of purpose -- and I appreciated how real that felt, and how honest the introspection was throughout the story.

Overall, it’s a powerful read that you connect to in a personal way.

A poignant, emotional debut novel. At its heart, it’s a story about family and connection. Not my typical read, but absolutely worth it.
