Fr. Josh Johnson offers practical approaches to overcoming the Seven deadly sins/vices. I liked the fact that he spent an entire week focusing on one vice with a different Scripture passage for each day. At times, it felt like the reflections were a bit off topic, but that didn't occur too often.

If I read this book again, as I'm sure I will in the future, I'll be sure to devote at least 15-30 minutes praying through each daily reflection. This time around, I only gave each daily reflection 5 minutes or so and it seems like more time would have been beneficial.

Overall, a very helpful book that I will return to.

Helpful guide

I found this work to be a helpful guide to growing in the spiritual life. The author gives insightful, relevant examples of the challenges we all face in living a life of virtue. The candor in this book is refreshing and lends it an air of authenticity—something much needed in the realm of spiritual non-fiction.

Excellent book. There is much more to the "Seven deadly sins" than we know, and Fr Josh lays it out perfectly. I read this as part of my Lenten study, but will return to it often. A gem.

This is more than just a pocket guide. It is very thoughtful and insightful. I love the "Chaplet of Eli" he included written by Dr. Tom Neal.

Not finished with it quite yet. I am also doing the Lenten series Set Free on the Ascension app

Not liked, loved this book and the Lenten series, Set Free on the Ascension app as well. I would recommend both to anyone, Catholic or non, trying to overcome sin in their lives.
