Faith Sharpe is furious. After receiving a letter from her former friend, the artist Donovan, she learns that he has sold a painting he promised never to sell. A nude of Faith. Convincing herself that it was likely sold to someone who lives far away from her current home in the Highlands, Faith tries to put it out of her mind.
And what better way to do so than to spar with the most aggravating Scotsman alive?
Logan Harris does not like English women, thus he has always been infuriatingly rude to Faith. Since returning home from the horrors of war, Logan has found comfort in collecting art. When he procures a painting from a stellar new artist, he’s intrigued because the provocative piece looks very familiar...
When Logan discovers that the subject of his new painting is Faith, he believes her sardonic temperament is due to being jilted by her former lover. With a growing attraction forming between them, Logan soon does the unthinkable. He offers himself as a replacement.
Both aroused and horrified at his proposal, Faith rejects him. But the thought of Logan possessing the piece of art infuriates her. Eventually, she agrees, but only with the intention of ruining the painting. Then, she’ll flee Scotland forever. Now Logan must convince Faith of something he never believed in. But when a deadly ghost from his past turns up, will Logan and Faith’s journey end before it even begins?

Angst, banter, adventure, love and family in the Highlands. Matilda Madison comes back with a new book, the second in her “Seduced in Scotland” series that started with three English sisters moving to Scotland with their great-aunt. Our second sister is Faith, she’s quite happy living with her sisters, her magnificent great-aunt Bella and her new brother-in-law. She thinks she’s run away from her scandalous past but when she learns that the artist that once promised never to sell her almost nude portrait has broken his promise and that the new owner is precisely Logan Harris, their nearest neighbor and Graham’s best friend she thinks up a plan to infiltrate the man’s house, destroy the painting, and disappear forever. But how could she have foreseen that Logan Harris, a war hero & hater of Englishwomen would fall in love with her almost at first sight?
Logan’s and Faith’s stories is pure entertainment. I honestly had a lot of fun reading the book and the pages flew in my hands. It has that element, that “je ne sais quoi” that makes you keep reading, wanting to know what happens next or what kind response will they get everytime they talk to one another. Plus there’s this magnificent character that is aunt Belle and her machinations behind the scenes, she has no shame and doesn’t pretend to have shame. I wish we had more of her, more scenes with her wit and her apparent lack of restraint. She’s probably my favorite character. Having said that, both Logan and Faith are quite loveable, especially her. Her mistakes and her regrets could feel relatable. They are very human, with failures and burdens, strenghts and weaknesses. They are not afraid be vulnerable when they are alone together, yet they wear armors in the presence of others.
I only wish the book had more pages, especially towards the end. As it is, it is quite enjoyable, it leaves you wanting more and it sets the premise of the next one, which I predict is going to be wild.
There is a scene in the book that could have been inspired by Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice” though from another point of view. I don’t know if it’s intended or something that happened by chance, but I loved it and it made me feel like I was home. And there is lots and lots of rain and little horses. We’re in the Highlands after all.

If a book is set in Scotland, I'm picking it up, no questions asked. Finding Faith is the second book in the Seduced in Scotland series. If it wasn't in the collection's title, I honestly couldn't tell you that it took place in my beloved Caledonia. There was no abbreviated dialogue nor did it feature my favorite phrases such as "ya ken", "dinnae", or my personal favorite: "wee." I had this complaint in the last book and it seemed like the few dialect choices were minimized even more in this volume. Faith was a sour apple and she was a cantankerous bulldog towards the hero. They bickered nonstop and it was difficult to see how they would eventually form a romantic connection. You honestly expect me to anticipate a love match with these feuding fools?
I thought the initial premise was unique and one I hadn't previously encountered in a romance novel. Faith agreed to pose nude for an artist and he betrays her by selling her erotic painting for some much needed funds. The artwork ends up in the hands of our hero Logan, whose bestie is married to Faith's sister. What a small world. I did like that there was no messy history with the artist and he bounced as soon as he got his funds, hun. I was totally over Faith's harridan attitude. I was annoyed by her bullheadedness and misplaced animosity towards the hero. Enemies to lovers have become so predictable lately and all I want is an easy courtship without our heroines self-sabotaging their chances of romance. He's a rich, handsome, kind Scotsman. What more do you want, lass?
I do plan on reading the last book featuring my favorite sister, Grace. Hopefully her love story won't be as frustrating. She seems like the sweetest Sharpe and I'm hoping for a nice man who will treat her right. Maybe there will even be a deep Scottish burr this time around too! Once I finish this last book, I don't believe I'll continue with this author. I'm glad I gave her a chance, but it seems I need some assistance Finding Faith.
I loved this! Aunt Belle is match maker that can see what Logan and Faith just could not see. I liked their banter, both were feisty towards one another. I like that she didn't lay down and take his sass without throwing it back at him. I liked that we got to see more of the younger sister in this story, the three sisters are my favorite part. I really like when the FMC has a strong group of friends or family behind her supporting her. Logan was HOT. I really appreciated that a Scottish accent wasn't written out, I find it hard to read typically. I will say there was a subplot that really surprised me the resolution of it. Like it was wild but I felt empathy for all of them.
An enjoyable read, I just didn't really connect to the characters and felt their romance was slow and not really passionate. The third act spent too much on a subplot and not the romance imo.

Matilda Madison is a pretty new author to me. This is only my 10th book by her. She’s only been around since 2022. I have really liked all her books so far. I keep a list of favorite books read in each month and she actually has two books on that list. I am not a huge fan of books taking place in Scotland but I really enjoyed book 1 in this series.
I enjoyed Faith and Logan. I liked the storyline. Cute couple, good read.
This is the second book featuring three sisters. Faith and Logan were always on opposite sides, so I was looking forward to a great enemies-to-lovers book. It was enjoyable, but it was also full of grammatical mistakes. I felt like the blurb doesn't quite match the actual story because I thought Logan was offering himself as a replacement meant he would offer himself as a nude model for Faith to paint him. Unfortunately, no nudes from him, so maybe it was only deceiving to me this blurb. 3.5 - 4 stars.

He hates the English, and she hates men, yet somehow they always find common ground to butt heads...
A year ago Faith and her sisters were exiled from London to the Highlands after a scandal. Now her older sister is happily married and her younger one apprenticing with the local doctor. All very nice, but where does that leave her? A failed courtship, an infatuation gone sour and a scandalous portrait – not to mention the aggravating, arrogant arse next door! Logan’s time in the military earned him a title he feels he didn’t deserve, land he loves and money that gave him the freedom to pursue his passion for collecting art. But what is freedom with a dead best friend, nightmares, insomnia, an ailing father and a far too perceptive little sister – not to mention that haughty know-it-all pest next door! When he accidentally buys her portrait, she wants it destroyed. The end justifies the means, no matter the cost, even breaking his heart – he’ll get over it... but will she?
You’ve guessed it, this is an enemies-to-lovers romance, and it reads like a boulder rolling down a hill : slow at first, steadily picking up speed and then crashing full speed towards the grand finale. Both MCs come with baggage that is slowly unpacked throughout the story. Nice to discover the vulnerability behind their battle shields; it’s what ultimately binds them – that, and the secret crush they have on each other. It was a good read, entertaining and full of sizzle, but I would have preferred it a little more evenly paced. The portrait was a nice premise, but a little less of the MCs dancing around the issue, and a little more of that tum-tum-tummm moment in the last third (nope, I’m not telling what it is) would have suited me better.
What this book definitely did, was make me very curious to read the third one! A doctor’s apprentice and her mentor in the big city... I see lots and lots of potential!
Basic plot: Faith Sharpe posed half-naked for a former friend and artist. Now she learns that, contrary to his promises, he has sold the painting. It was bought by Logan Harris, her neighbor with whom she is constantly arguing. Now a plan must be found as to how Faith can get hold of this painting in order to destroy it.
My thoughts: I‘ve been a fan of the Sharpe family since the first book „Hope in the Highlands“ and I‘m even more so since this book. I really like everyone in this family and am happy that we get a little insight into Hope and Graham‘s HEA. This is an enemies to lovers story and I like the bickering between Faith and Logan. They come closer together through their love of art and through it, in the form of Faith portrait, they become estranged again. At times, the story reminded me a bit of Pride & Prejudice, because both have an idea of the other that doesn’t do them justice at all. But at the beginning, they don‘t make any effort to see behind the facade. It‘s nice to see how they break through this, break down the prejudices and can no longer keep their hands off each other. I would have liked to have learned a little more about Logan regarding his war experiences, his trauma and how Faith helps him heal. But, as always, it was a lot of fun reading a Matilda Madison book and I‘m looking forward to Grace‘s story.
In this historical enemies-to-lovers romance, Faith and Logan start by rubbing each other the wrong way and end up, well, rubbing each other the right way. Joking aside, the two are attracted to each other from the outset, but Logan's distrust of Englishwomen and general PTSD after the war, combined with Faith's impatience with his grouchiness, put the pair on a path of mutually assured aggravation. But it turns out they have a lot in common, most notably their love of art. Logan is a consummate collector who acquires a piece that Faith posed for years back but hoped would never see the light of day. Without spoiling the plot, I will say that Faith and Logan shed their initial animosity, act on mutual attraction, and finally acknowledge deepening feelings, all with the help of incessant rain, a medic-in-training sister, a meddling great aunt, and a mysterious purloiner of tiny horses (I liked the light mystery element of the story). Aunt Belle, Graham, and Hope from Book 1 all have significant secondary roles here. There are several kissing scenes and one open-door spicy scene. Overall, a well-written, enjoyable read.
Thanks to NetGalley for the advance review copy. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is the second book in a historical romance series. While you could easily read each book on its own, they are better read in order. Especially because the great aunt is a central character who is scheming to marry off her nieces.
All of the characters are a lot of fun, and there are some sparks flying.
Our heroine, this time, finds her past mistakes coming back to haunt her. Our hero carries the burden of survivor's guilt after his experiences in the Army.
It is a very enjoyable story that will make you want to read the whole series.
Enemy to lovers with banter + a guy trying but failing to fight his attraction.
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the MMC. War survivor without being overly traumatized and mad at the world, though he IS sullen. Also, he truly saw her, he fell first and tried so hard to fight it. Plus he wasn't an a**hole who could have blackmailed the FMC to get her. The premise behind the FMC's antagonism towards and response to the guy was believable and it was also believable how/when she capitulated in the end. Fun supporting cast without detracting from the main 2's plotline.
I'm not invested enough to go back to read book 1 (Hope in the Highlands) but I am curious and want to read book 3, when it comes.
This second book in the Suduced in Scotland series is an entertaining Scottish historical romance that is about the second sister. I really enjoyed the characters' banter, what would happen next, or what kind of response would occur, and I definitely liked the lovely aunt. The adventure, intrigue, angst, banter, love, and family in the Highlands made for a very captivating love story. I highly recommend reading!
I feel like a lot of what I could say would be spoilers.
I loved the enemies to lovers between Faith and her grumpy neighbor Logan. The painting of Faith done years ago and where it ended up is chef's kiss. Jaco is a best good boy and Notable Pet. And Aunt Belle! That devious, scheming, little old lady!! Belle is running circles around all of them and they don't even KNOW. "Oh, but my dear, you're next." Get outta town!
Thank you to Dragonblade for the copy of this book. Opinions are my own.
I am begging Matilda Madison to stop injection mortal peril into her endings and just let her characters be adults and solve things themselves. I found Faith and Logan to have more chemistry, but their relationship progression was so odd compared to Hope and Graham. All they did was flirt and have sex once and now they're in love? Very hesitant about Grace's book and disappointed we didn't see Belle or Graham find out Hope is pregnant.
I LOVED Faith’s story • • • • • • I love when grumpy standoffish people become soft for the only person they love. Faith and Logan deserved to gain a tender heart for eachother and Logan deserved that redemption after all the guilt he’s held onto. Mr. Harris wanting to live again 😭 my whole heart. Like cmonnnnnnnn his talk with Logan ARE WE KIDDING. What a sweetie broken hearted man and Logan NEEDED that. Faith deserved to be loved in return after Donovan put her through everything he did. And finally LADY/AUNT BELLE …… WHO IS THIS DIVA?!? Love her with my whole heart and soul! She is my favorite character. *Lady Belle’s Tea Co* because she has all the tea and just casually spills it for the men she wants her nieces to be with. What a queen! I wish she would get a prequel because I would love to hear about her story with her sister and ‘Georgie’ as she so nonchalantly calls the King hahah Anyway I can’t wait to read about Grace!

This is an emotionally charged, slow-burn romance that blends art, angst, and aching attraction with a delightful enemies-to-lovers twist.
Faith Sharpe is no demure heroine. She's furious, proud, and scarred—emotionally and now literally, as a painting of her naked form has been sold without her consent. Her rage is justified, her pride deeply wounded, and the only distraction on the bleak Highland horizon is Logan Harris: a brooding, battle-weary Scotsman with a low opinion of Englishwomen and an irritating knack for getting under her skin.
Logan, for his part, is equally complex. Scarred by war and loss, he seeks beauty and control in the art he collects—only to be blindsided when one particular piece strikes too close to home. What begins as hostility turns into sharp, witty tension and smoldering chemistry. Their interactions crackle with unresolved anger and desire, making their eventual collision inevitable and utterly satisfying.
What sets this historical romance apart is its depth of character and the clever way it uses art as both plot device and metaphor. Faith’s determination to destroy the painting speaks volumes about her pain, just as Logan’s desire to preserve it—and her—reflects a hidden yearning he can barely articulate.
The twist involving Logan’s past adds danger and emotional urgency without veering into melodrama. Instead, it enriches the stakes and allows for a moving, earned resolution.
Passionate, poignant, and laced with just enough danger, this is a beautifully drawn love story that explores what happens when pride, pain, and passion collide.

Entertaining, Enemies-to-Lovers, Scottish Historical Romance Faith and Logan begin as true enemies: he has no patience for Englishwomen, and she finds him an insufferable cad. But everything changes when a scandalous painting resurfaces—a nude portrait Faith once posed for, painted by a friend who promised never to sell it. He broke that promise, and now the painting is out in the world. Faith hopes no one close to her will ever see it. Unfortunately, the man who ends up with it is the last person she wants involved: Logan himself. What starts as a battle of barbs turns into a tempting—and dangerous—game. Determined to destroy the painting, Faith agrees to become Logan’s lover, fully intending that the arrangement be temporary and strictly strategic. Falling in love isn’t part of her plan. And when Logan proposes the affair, he assumes Faith is worldly and experienced. Could he be very wrong? As they navigate growing desire and tangled emotions, a ghost from Logan’s past returns, threatening everything they’ve begun to build. I enjoyed the twists, the tension, and especially the surprise waiting at the end.
Needed a "reading" palate cleanser so elected this historical romance.
It proved to be a good choice. It was an easy read that started with a titillating premise. The interaction between Faith and Logan was a moderate sizzle. The way it was written felt more of his perspective than hers.
Knew it was the 2nd in a series so a bit wary when approaching this read given hadn't read the first one. While references are made to the first couple, Faith's sister and her love interest, this book could be read as a standalone (important factor in a series).
Only thing that bothered me was referring to Logan's dog's 'arms' when it crawled into bed with Faith. Legs would've been a better word choice. Maybe expanding the dog's antics too would have added a lighter side to Logan.

Aunt Bella is up to some matchmaking again but this time with Faith. Logan we meet earlier as he is Graham’s friend and just has come back from war. But he is the one that sparks Faith angst and aggravation, on top of that she learns her past comes back to haunt her with her nude being sold. Logan collects art, which Faith finds out due to a bad storm and having to stay. These two have chemistry and fire in banter and sass, they are a fun couple that keep running into each other.
A fun enemies-to-lovers with forced proximity Scottish romance. Enjoyed the conuntied story of book one, side characters, and of course her Aunt and sisters. I can’t wait for Grace to see what/who she ends up in the big city!
Faith and Logan live near each other in this enemy to lovers story. Both come with lots of baggage from the past. The one thing they have in common is art. He collects it and she has poised for it. The beginning drags a bit but picks up towards the end. Book two of this series is good and yet the first book was really better and the third book is the one I'm excited to read. Don't miss out on it as the characters are fun to watch and read how they interact.
What a wonderful book! A perfect enemies to lovers with two prickly characters who spar and banter until the end. I enjoyed their interactions very, very much and I also loved the touch of mystery and action at the end. And the Highlands are a perfect backdrop! The descriptions are beautiful without being boring and all characters are vivid and intriguing. Five well earned stars!
This seems like a pretty common trope...a lady falls for an artist, poses for a scandalous painting...which he later sells...to her future husband. Thats the case for Faith. She's very shrewish. Its hard to root for her. Logan is just as terrible. They continue being very mean to each other for the whole book. Then it goes a sideways.
Finding faith was a well written book. It tames a wild heart in Faith and awakens a dead heart in Logan. The MCs were at each others throat throughout the book, but really the angst was a camouflage for desire and maybe more. Each of them carry a burden, but together and with their love for art heal to get their hea
