In the summer of 1942 he signed up as a volunteer, on the third day of his stay in the army he was in battle. He served as a gun number in the 513th Separate Guards Mortar Division. He held the position of assistant driver of the Park Division of the 9th Guards Mortar Brigade of the 3rd Belorussian Front . At the end of the war he entered the mortar school. Demobilized in 1947.

ছোট মেয়েকে পড়ে শোনালাম, চমৎকার বই আর ইলাস্ট্রেশন। মহাকাশ, রকেট, গ্র্যাভিটি, দুষ্টুমি, উল্কা সবকিছু মিলিয়ে সুন্দর একটা বই।

গ্রিশকা একটি ছোট ছেলে। সবাইকে নানানভাবে জ্বালা-যন্ত্রণা করে বেড়ানো তার কাজ। কিন্তু একদিন উলটো ভানিয়া নামের এক ছেলের কাছে পরাজিত হয়ে তার মন খারাপ হয়। ইচ্ছা হয় সে ভানিয়ার চাইতেও শক্তিশালী হবে। কিন্তু কীভাবে?
তাদের এলাকায় থাকতো এক মহাকাশচারী। গ্রিশকা জানে মহাকাশচারী সব সমস্যার সমাধান করতে পারে। তাই সে মহাকাশচারীর বাসায় গিয়ে তার সমস্যার কথা জানায়। মহাকাশচারী তাকে তার রকেট দিয়ে জানায় চাঁদে গেলে সে আরো শক্তিশালী হয়ে যাবে। তারপর গ্রহাণুতে গেলে শক্তি আরো বাড়বে।
সেই কথামত গ্রিশকা প্রথমে চাঁদে, তারপর গ্রহাণুতে ভ্রমণকালে এক দুর্ঘটনায় প্রায় মরতে বসে। তখন তাকে বাঁচায় সেই ভানিয়া যাকে মারবে বলে গ্রিশকা শক্তিশালী হতে এসেছিল। ছোট্ট গ্রহাণুতেই তারপর তাদের বন্ধুত্ব। সবশেষে দুই রকেটে পাশাপাশি পৃথিবীতে ফেরা।
শিশুতোষ বই। এত্ত সুন্দর ইলাস্ট্রেশন মনে হয় শুধু এই প্রগতি আর রাদুগার বইগুলোতেই হত! প্রিন্টেড কপি থাকলে কালেকশনে রাখতাম নিশ্চিত। গল্পের এক জায়গাতে বাতাসা দিয়ে চা খাওয়ার কথা লেখা আছে। আমার এখন বাতাসা দিয়ে চা খেতে ইচ্ছা করছে। কী বিপদ!

বাচ্চারে পইড়া শুনাইলাম। চমৎকার বই। গল্পের ছলে শিক্ষামূলক লেখা। বিজ্ঞান, নৈতিকতা, ভালো আচরণ ইত্যাদি।

অনেক সুন্দর বই! ভারি আনন্দ নিয়ে পড়লাম। প্রিয় মিঠাই এর মতো মজার বই।

বিজ্ঞান আর নীতি একসাথে শেখানোর এক চমৎকার গল্প। শুধু শিশুদের জন্য না, বড়রাও এটা থেকে কিছু শিখতে পারবেন। অলংকরণ আর অনুবাদ দুটোই খাসা।
