Overall: 4 stars

Okay, listen. This gets four stars for sheer cuteness and warm, fuzzy feelings. It’s probably got all the tropes and all the cliches (I haven’t read too much manga yet so idk), but I don’t care because this series has made me smile.

The art is lovely, the fluff is heartwarming, it’s a sugar bomb of sweetness for your mood.

We’ve got family, the power of friendship, and more cooking as a super power. It’s fantasy slice-of-life adorableness with a slooooooow burn romance.

Much slower than the previous volumes, unfortunately. Nothing really happens to progress their relationship.

Recap: more town visits, meeting Lloyd's boss, dress shopping, sensing being watched, dinner party, walking home and Lloyd saying they should talk.

This volume was the most boring thing I’ve ever read.
It was basically the same thing over and over and over again.

This was a very quick read though comparatively the story is rather slow-moving in manga form. We officially meet Freddy and get to see Lloyd and Chloe interact with his family for their first dinner party. Taking Chloe dress shopping is also adorable, and as usual, the locals adore her aside from maybe a certain group of thugs who are not so happy with Lloyd at the moment. As usual, both Lloyd and Chloe are clueless when it comes to their own feelings and the potential for their lives together at this stage, though Lloyd at least seems to recognize a similarity to what seems to be known as family if not a desire for them to at least apply that label to their relationship rather than just employee and employer. Chloe gets so flustered though, it's adorable and hilarious at the same time.

This series is so cute and cozy. I love reading about Lloyd and Chloe, who are slowly coming closer together. Watching Lloyd become an absolute softie and begin to show expression is so cute. Every time he smiled, a grin was splitting across my face. I hope they will share more about their backgrounds in the next volume.

I love that I was able to read this on release day, but now I have to wait even longer for the next volume 😭.
