When Jane isn't binge-reading she's counting down to Christmas and adding to her 200+ teddy bear collection!
Was kinda meh to me… Also I really tried respecting her coping mechanisms because every trauma victim deals with it differently, but was laughing out loud each time … using his penis as a pacifier is at least something I had NOT read elsewhere 🤣🤣🤣
Tactical Lies sucks you deeper into the mystery of who the enemies are, and I'm not going to lie, this book absolutely consumed me. The trauma that Bacca suffered, and the "mistake" that Conner made is heartbreaking. But the redemption is on point. Becca taking back her control, while dealing with the trauma of her past and new threat that hangs over the Charleston/Halloway family and the ones they love is incredible. Connor trying to make a mends for a terrible mistake he made so many years ago, is sweet and heartbreaking at the same time. But these two together are unstoppable. I loved the action in this book, it hit differently in this one. Can't wait for the next book to unravel this mystery a little bit more.
Tactical Lies is another exciting installment in the Prey Security: Charlie Team series. Connor and Becca, childhood sweethearts that were supposed to be together forever. But after Becca is assaulted, Connor panics and runs away. 12 years later, when Connor's family is in danger, he tracks Becca down in Cambodia hoping to make amends and possibly get a second chance. When he gets to Cambodia, Becca wants nothing to do with him. And when he realizes he brought danger with him, he will do everything in his power to keep Becca safe. This book is fast paced, with non-stop action & suspense, that will break your heart. Jane Blythe just has a way of drawing you in from the start and leaving you wanting more!
Jane Some things should be left in the past, but Connor can’t move forward before he seeks out Becca to apologize for what a jerk he was 12 years ago hoping for forgiveness and a second chance. Will Becca be receptive to Connor when he shows up in Cambodia and brings trouble with him. You really feel the emotions of what happened between Connor and Becca and the struggle she has with her feelings that are creeping up again and having him with her to comfort her the way she needs is helping. Their story is not over, but Connor needs to keep her safe until help arrives. With his family still being hunted because of the answers they seek no one is safe. Such a great read and can’t wait for the next book in this series.
Forgiveness is one thing, trust is a complete different thing. Connor needs both but what he did run deep. Fighting for his love, for survival, for a second chance and his parents. A captive story in the prey world. New character, new storyline. And yet another book that has you going give me, give me more and fast. The Prey Journey continues and I am excited to find out where it goes and what it will ring.
Tactical Lies is another wonderful story in the Charlie Team Prey Security series where anything could happen and does! Once I started this book I found it difficult to put it down, as I had to know what happened to Becca and Connor.
Connor, Cooper’s twin, is ready to man up and face what he did twelve years before his then-girlfriend. As difficult as the situation would have been all those years ago, my heart went to Becca and not Connor. Mind you I don’t dislike him, just how he dealt with things. This whole “facing up to reality and trying to apologise” situation is the catalyst for a horrific run of events—perhaps 🤔, but I’ll let you read about it. The story is told from both of the lead character’s perspectives, which enables readers to get a deeper insight into them.
The book is filled with dangerous, and at times, terrifying scenes that mostly have something to do with Connor’s parents’ demise and the puzzle of who is at the helm, aka the ultimate evil character. At times, I literally sat on the edge of my seat with my heart thumping in my chest. While at others, the feeling of happiness is something hard to describe.
I feel this book leads readers into possible newer areas and sets up future situations in coming books. Bring on every book as I can not get enough from this very talented author.
Her greatest love.... Her biggest betrayer.... Her hope for the future.... Her everything.
It is devastating to hear the story of their break up, one seconds misjudgement, one wrong action and everything was lost, followed by twelve years of existing without really living. But forgiveness has to be earned, and whilst Connor is more than happy to prove himself, fate once again steps in and explodes their world. Heartbreaking, terrifying and dangerous, Connor and Becca will steal your heart as they fight for their lives, relive the pain of their past and fall in love all over again. Love. Trust. Hope. They find it all, what they don't find is answers...just more questions. I read this on Kindle Unlimited.
Connor and the Charlie team is back on their pursuit for family answers. We meet Becca who was part of their youth and Connors love. Their story is tragic and the reason they broke up so sad. Their path back to each other is full of danger and bittersweet moments. There are some unique soothing/trauma responses and some funny love filled moments with the family embracing her back into their lives. The answers for the family didn’t seem to move forward until the end when the phone call gave an odd cliffhanger/teaser. This is a great series and I couldn’t put the book down.
This book should’ve ended after Chapter 1. He abandoned her after everything she went through—and now he thinks he deserves a second chance? Absolutely not. The first night they’re reunited, she’s already having nightmares, and we’re supposed to root for him? The only thing worse than his comeback tour is the author’s decision to not include any mention of sexual assault before the story starts. That’s not just an oversight—that’s a transgression. Full stop.
Becca has suffered an unimaginable tragedy done to her, yet she has done everything in her power to move forward. While Becca has found a way to move forward and thrive, Connor seems be stuck in the past and unable to move forward. Twelve years later he is ready to move forward, with the tiny hope of forgiveness and MAYBE a second chance. He does this by finding Becca in the jungles of Cambodia but soon realizes that his presence is making life for her harder than necessary. His very presence wrecks her emotionally while also physically putting her in danger (unbeknownst to either of them). They do end up having to go on the run together and spend some time reacquainting with each other, including him helping her with her coping mechanism of feeling empowered and in control. Let’s just say they don’t sell sippy cups like that in just any supermarket! More is learned about what happened to the Charleston/Holloway parents, but there’s still danger surrounding all of them. The real question, though, is do you leave the past in the past and pick up as if it never happened or do you confront the past head on and challenge the actions to understand the whys and THEN move on? Tough call, one might say it’s a tactical decision that each of them has to make. This is a fast paced book that will break your heart while also raising your heart rate and blood pressure. In other words, you won’t be disappointed!
This is another emotional turn in the Charlie Team Series. Conner travels to Cambodia to try to repair his relationship with Becca whom he left 12 years earlier when she needed him the most after she endured some of the worst incidents in her life. He spent the last 12 years throwing himself into the seals then into Prey Security but he realized while he was a trying to salve the mystery of his parent’s deaths, he decides he has to fix what he broke in their relationship. While Conner is there, the village is attacked and Conner has to use all his skills to keep them both alive.
I have to say the “mistake” that Conner is trying to make right is so heartbreaking. And just when Becca is about to tell him to go away for good this time, their village is attached and Conner has to use all his skills to keep them alive. The ongoing mystery of Conner’s parents grows and more questions turn up. This book has a lot of action that starts very quickly. While Conner and Becca are trying to stay alive they both work on healing what Conner broke so they can both heal and move forward. This is a a bit of a departure and different than what I expected in the best way. Entertaining installment in the Charlie team series that will make you excited to read what happens next.
Connor Charleston is a man in need of redemption and forgiveness. He's had twelve years of blaming himself for his inexcusable behavior. While he may never get to fully atone for his behavior, at least the effort will have been made. Traveling half way round the world is the first step. Becca Marsden picked up the pieces of her shattered life twelve years ago and moved forward. Now her past has shown up on her doorstep and it's not a happy reunion. Trust is a fragile thing and once the bonds are broken they usually aren't mendable. Admitting she still loves Connor, at least to herself, is doable but trusting him? Not so much. But her life is thrust into his hands when those seeking to stamp out the Charlestons and their investigations arrive in her small village. What ensues is fast paced, dangerous, deadly and heart breaking. But it accomplises Connorxs mission, having Becca back in his arms and life. Finding love and forgiveness heals them both but the danger is not over. Not by a long shot.
So much danger, twists and turns, darkness, and a very strong heroine. Twelve years ago Conner flipped out and panicked, running away from Becca, by time he realized he made a mistake it was to late. Becca has went through so much, but she is still a strong person. She was raped, thrown out of a car and lost here foot because it got stuck in a seatbelt. Connor went to Cambodia to find Becca to apologize for leaving her when she needed him. When Becca saw Connor she didn't want anything to do with him, but she realized she still had feelings for him. Connor didn't believe how much she hated him. Then it happened, sounds of gunfire in the village and Conner covered Becca. They ran but they were captured. Couldn't get enough, what a page turner. Highly recommend.
Another fabulous story in the Prey Security world that will absolutely blow your mind. Connor and Becca were both wonderful characters with a very traumatic past and this was a second chance romance/suspense that had them both fighting unknown dangers to survive and try to find out the truth about Connor’s mother. Reading about their past had me in tears and I kept on hoping beyond hope that Becca would be able to move on and give Connor the chance that he was fighting for with every breath he took. You could feel the mutual attraction and love and with the fast paced action your head will be spinning with all that is going on. Danger at every turn but neither of them will ever give up and we get to ride the huge wave of emotions with the entire family. So excited for the next book.
What a brilliant story! Connor and Becca were the best and this story was filled with emotional and action.
Walking away from Becca after she had been attacked 12 years before was the hardest thing he ever did, till Connor wanted to come back to her but brings trouble with him.
Fast paced and action packed, a total thrill ride of a book. Also very romantic once they work though issues but that part was sentimental and emotional. What struck me was the connection these two characters had. Even after he walked away, they still had that connection that drives the romance.
So well done, Jane Blythe brings us a thought provoking story with a great plot and characters I grew to love. Great book!!
4⭐️Star Read Loved the romance between Becca and Conner. I also loved his nickname for Becca was "Moonlight". I liked Conner's brothers in the book and how they helped Becca and Conner. I was so happy they got a second chance at love and being together. Also enjoyed the suspense and thrilling parts in this book. Loved how they both protected each other. I hated the bad guys in this book and what they did to Becca and Conner. I also loved how brave and strong Becca was in this book too. And I am glad they got the chance to talk about their baby boy they lost in the book. Some of their romance was spicy in this book. I enjoyed the book and I can't wait to read the other books in this series. I recommed this book.
Just couldn’t get into this book at all. Didn’t like the male lead before this book and nothing he did redeemed him in my eyes. His family seemed to take his side with little understanding of the experience the female lead went through. The whole book had a feel of “oh poor Conner, what about his feelings “ to it. Female lead (Becca) started off strong but wilted as the story progressed. Only good thing to say is the overarching storyline which has been running throughout the series has moved forward with this addition if rather slowly. Probably give the next book in the series a shot with fingers crossed that it’s better than this.
OMG! What a fantastic story! This story is about Becca and Connor. The beginning was truly horrific, especially for Becca. After her assault and further trauma, Connor made the worse mistake of his life. It takes twelve years before he finally comes to his senses but now he must make sure he can keep Becca alive so they can work on their happy ending. The scene at the cabin was so intense that you were in the edge of your seat with your heart in your throat. The last sentence was a total shocker, even for the brothers. FANTASTIC job Jane! I would highly recommend this book! Can't wait for the next book!
It's time to again to visit Prey Security. Charlie Team is reeling from the secrets that have come to light. However, Conner realizes that he made a mistake walking away 12 years ago from the love of his life. He know realized he made the wrong choice and wants to put in the work to gain forgiveness. Everything zbecca has done for the past 12 years has moved her forward. When Conner come back into her life he also brings danger. Get ready for the journey that may bring forgiveness but may also bring death. Because someone wants the ultimate secret to stay buried.
Boy this was one fast paced read from page one till the end. Connor and Becca were childhood sweethearts until Becca was attacked and Connor did the worst thing he could do and that's walk away. Leaving Becca heartbroken and lost. Connor has decided he will do anything and everything to have a second chance with Becca but will evil forces take away his chance at being back together with his only love. This story has so many twists and turns and alot of angst and suspense. I truly enjoyed it as will as the entire series. I highly recommend it.
Connor and Becca had known each other since they were little kids. Fated to belong to each other until a tragic incident changed their lives. Over a decade later Connor goes looking for her as the danger to his family involves people they care about. Is their connection still there? So much going on, bullets flying, kidnapping and death. This was one action packed story. I couldn't put this book down with all the suspense and heart stopping moments. Even though the story stands alone you'll want to read the previous two to understand the characters and how they arrived at this point.
The trauma Becca goes through has you cringing. The pain & loss tears your heart. You really felt Connor's remorse & wish for him to get his chance. So much keeps getting thrown at these two that it seems like it goes on forever. I had to laugh through the crazy ride at a certain coping method of Becca. These siblings definitely melt you heart with their bond & love for each other. Read & enjoy.
What an exciting story. After years of carrying shame and regret for his actions many years ago, Connor is now looking for forgiveness and with his heart, deep down in the recesses he hasn't really looked at until now, a second chance. But can he keep Becca safe and win her heart and trust back? This story is fast pace on the edge of your seat romantic suspense. I highly recommend this book and series. It's fantastic!
Book 3 in this interconnected series and another great read.
Connor had made a mistake many years ago and regretted it ever since, he never forgot Becca and this time round he fought for her. They had great connection between them.
I loved seeing how the brothers all stick together and how the underlying story runs between each book.
This had lots of action and great heat between the main characters. I am looking forward to Cade’s story next.
This is the third book in the series. It could be read as a stand-alone, but you will get more out of it if you read them all. You're going to want to anyway because they are so good! Connor and Becca were meant for each other. There were lots of emotions and action in this book. These brothers know how to own up to their mistakes and let their love shine through. As usual, some pretty awful bad guys. Definitely have you rooting for the “good guys”. Looking forward to more.
Good book. I enjoyed this addition to the series. Connor and Becca were well written and I enjoyed reading both of their characters. I wasn’t sure how he was going to earn a second chance with Becca, but it worked out in the end. Their back story is heartbreaking and binds the two together in a deep way. The overall arc is also continued in this story and will continue throughout the series. I’m looking forward to the next one.
i don't know why do author always make the heroine look stupid and can't understand simple instructions. when the heroine is being told to stay and not moved or stay hidden and not come out, they will definitely ignored what was being told and came out to "check the situation". then they will get themselves caught or kidnapped for not listening. i mean realistically speaking, they kind of ask for it, isn't it?? may be a little mean here but.... well, that's what i feel either way...
Ongoing plushie? 🤮 I have loved the previous books in the series. I’ve especially the one right before this. I’m not sure if the author is training in a ghost rider or what happened, but this one certainly needed an editor and is not at all and keeping with the style of plot and action of the other books in the series. Couldn’t wait for it to get finished and that is a horrible experience reading a book.
Hard to believe that two people who were close since their early childhood, would come together after more than ten years in a savagely grueling situation. And the danger continues in a new location. Other family members and friends are at risk and endangered also. Yet, Connor and "Moonlight" rekindle their connection and fight their enemies rogether.
Odd points that actually made me want to put the book down. people have different wags of coping but the one displayed here is masking at being healthy. It is not. Having a psychology background this was just inherently wrong on lots of levels not to mention on the personal relationship between the characters. Least likeable one yet.
