It’s all been a lie—I sided with the enemy without even knowing it. I thought my parents’ actions were unforgivable, but Rafael Díaz has shown me how wrong I was. My ex-fiancé tore me from my family and manipulated me into believing I loved him, all to feed his hunger for power. He will pay for that, for he messed with the wrong people. With me, Liv Ó’Connor, the Vampire Princess of Andalusia—and my husband Killian, the Alpha of the Ó’Connor pack. We are out for blood and blood we shall have.
Melanie Gurenko is a nerd and author. As a child of the 90s, the Battle of Hogwarts captivated her, and she celebrated the downfall of evil in Middle-earth. There are no classic villains in her books, as she loves the topic of nature vs nurture. 70% workaholic, 20% sarcasm, and 10% life support systems is the description that probably suits her best. When she's not quoting something nerdy or is lost in her next project, she's going on adventures with her son and husband.
This book kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish, especially after the events of the first book. It delves into Olivia’s backstory, showing how she ended up with Killian (trying not to spoil anything). We get more context on what happened in the first book and see Olivia’s growth as she grapples with her conflicting memories.
I loved every moment of it and hated seeing the pages dwindle as I got closer to the end. I can’t wait for the next book.
And just to be clear: There is *no* redemption for Delia in my heart! Even if there is in the next book, I’ll ignore it.
*Hunter’s Moon* starts with Princess Olivia’s first encounter with Killian. Unlike her parents, Olivia is kind, honest, and faces challenges head-on. After being rescued, she’s torn between wanting freedom and struggling with it now that she has it. We see the man behind Killian’s stoic exterior and discover the broken soul that complements hers. Their connection is heartwarming and shows the transformative power of love and understanding.
Their journey continues with new challenges, friends, and an epic battle. This book was a delight from start to finish. And that ending? It left me speechless, my heart racing. What a fantastic story!
My first reaction to that ending was "I'm sorry what?!!?". You can't be leaving me on this sort of cliffhanger ending again 😭😭😭
This book had me at the edge of my seat especially after what had occurred during the first book. This one dives into Olivia's backstory and how she ends up where she does - with Killian (I'm trying hard to avoid spoilers haha). We get a lot more context behind what led to the events in the first book and see Liv's growth/ struggle to bridge her contrasting memories.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and hated seeing the pages dwindle while I was reading it. I honestly can't wait for Cresent Moon! If you are planning to read this series, do keep in mind that it is translated and might have some mistranslated words (ex: Killian/ Kaz giggling, I think chuckling was what the author meant), but that shouldn't pull you away from the main storyline.
on a side note: there is NO redemption for Delia (in my heart)! Even if there is in the next book, I will 100% choose to ignore it 😭
Hunters Moon begins with Princess Olivia’s first encounter with Killian. Unlike her parents, Olivia was kind, honest, and embraced challenges. After her rescue, she found herself at a crossroads, yearning for freedom but struggling now that she had it. We get to know the man behind Killian’s stoic exterior, revealing the broken soul that complemented hers. Their connection was heartwarming, a testament to the transformative power of love and understanding. Their journey continues with their daughter, friends, a new challenge and a battle still to be won. This story was an absolute delight from the very beginning. The ending left me utterly speechless and left my heart pounding in my chest. What a fantastic story!
Thank you Melanie Gurenko and Luna Literary Mangement for a free advance review copy, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Part 1 of this book was a well needed background to Killian and Liv's history. Part 2 picks up right after the first book in the series. I could not put this prequel/sequel down. It was emotionally charged and heartbreaking at the losses they suffered. I can't wait until book 3 comes out as each one in the series keeps getting more intriguing.
I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily leave this review.
Liv knows that everything that happened to her in the last few months was all a huge lie. Rafael manipulated her and now that she knows the truth she is willing to do anything She can to get revenge. She is not the little princess who has to get married because her parents told her to, she is Killian O'Connor's wife and she is the alpha's wife. A past to remember and recover will be the focus of this book. We as readers will have a chance to see the past that Liv has lost thus fully understanding the pain she will feel remembering all that she has lost. Killian is the perfect companion who in spite of everything has never abandoned her showing her his full devotion. Hunter's Moon is a second volume that fully satisfies the curiosity we developed in the previous book. Of course, the ending keeps us hanging ready only to wait for the next book to arrive. That is why I gave it 5 out of 5⭐
I loved how half the book was Liv’s backstory before the accident and the second half was current. Loved seeing Liv and Killian’s love story and the family that they build with the resistance. This ends with a huge cliffhanger and I can't wait to see where book 3 takes us.
The story is moving along nicely, got the story on how Liv and Kil met and then updates on the now. While I did enjoy this book, there were too many "off screen" deaths for my liking. I'm still interested in how this will end.
Book two takes us back in time to before book one. Someone is helping Olivia to escape. She’s taken to Malbork Castle, where she’s with the resistance and working with the Were’s.
There she meets Kaz, Cian, and Killian, as well as Maria, Zyna, and several others. Slowly this becomes her new family. She stops playing princess, and morphs into Liv.
Liv begins to learn who she is when every aspect of her life isn’t controlled, when her life isn’t under a microscope, when she doesn’t have to be perfect.
We learn that everything from book one was a farse, that Rafael was manipulating Liv, for his own evil intentions. Liv was married and had a whole life back at Malbork before the accident that took her memories.
Part two is after Liv returns to Malbork… woo, and so many things happen! Such a great story, and now I need book three!
This review was my first and such prompted me to do even more in the future.I was obsessed in every way,Definetely loving the fantasy side of the book community😫
Trying to kill me over here with that cliffhanger, but it was soooo good! Book 3 is going to be awesome, I can already tell from the first two books. Buckle up!
✨ Just finished this incredible second installment in the Destiny of a Vampire Princess series and WOW - my heart is still racing! 💫
In this explosive sequel, we follow Liv Ó'Connor, the Vampire Princess of Andalusia, as she discovers the devastating truth behind her past. The revelation that her ex-fiancé Rafael manipulated and tore her away from her family for his own power-hungry agenda had me GASPING. 😱
The chemistry between Liv and Killian (her werewolf husband and Alpha of the Ó'Connor pack) continues to be absolutely electric! Their alliance in seeking vengeance adds such a delicious layer to their relationship. 🔥
What I loved most about this book:
- The intricate web of betrayal and revenge - The found family elements that warm your heart - The perfect balance of emotional depth and action - The way Liv comes into her own power 👑
Gurenko has outdone herself with this installment - the writing is sharp, the pacing keeps you on the edge of your seat, and the stakes are higher than ever. This enemies-to-lovers, found family story with its dark undertones had me completely hooked from start to finish! 📚✨
I absolutely cannot wait for what comes next in this series! The way this book ended has me desperately needing more! 😍
I really loved book one in this new series, but book two was even better. I can't wait for book three to come out because I want, no, I need more.
In book two of this series, we get more of the story between Liv and Killian. We get to find out what happened leading up to the events in book one. All that time missing from Liv's memories after her accident. Things that we just got teases and questions for during book one during the mystery of what was real and was was manipulation. It's the story of how Liv and Killian found love in the midst of a rebellion.
Then their journey picks up in the current timeline after the events of book one. They are having to deal with the aftermath of Liv's escape from her parents and Rafeal all over again. They must fight to survive and hold onto the power and status that is rightfully theirs. And the fight is not over because Rafeal is making power moves of his own.
I'm hooked on the story of Liv and Killian and need more. This series is so good. It's such an interesting world concept and I can't get enough. These two are true soulmates meant for each other.
An amazing second book in the Destiny of a Vampire Princess series. After the first book left readers hanging and NEEDING more, this book picked up right away. Melanie provides more back story to Olivia and how she has become what she is. Sticking to the same themes running through book one, Melanie gave us more of our beloved fated mates, found family, and the possessive MMC that we love to read about.
Olivia certainly comes into her own in this book. Although she belongs to a certain group, that group does not define her, nor does it make decisions for her. She is her own entity, capable of making her own choices, and knowing what is best for her. I loved seeing Olivia stand up to people who tried to put her in a box and fit a certain mold. Her learning to trust herself throughout the story was remarkable and enjoyable.
I didn’t think I could love Killian more than I did, but I was proven wrong! The way this werewolf loves his vampire wife had me swooning. He not only shows her in physical actions, but in the way he allows her to be herself in everything. He trusts her and she trusts him. He is a self assured man, who understands his wife makes him stronger not weaker, despite her past and upbringing. As he continues to help her exact revenge and seek vengeance for the wrongs done against her, he just kept proving himself.
Melanie, as stated before, delivers a wonderful second installment to this series. I can’t wait for book three to see what happens next. As before, the book leaves me wanting more and excited for more of Melanie’s writing. Her storytelling abilities kept me at the edge of my seat. She knows how to pull her audience in and keep them hooked.
As always, review any author notes before reading.
