I had the opportunity to be an ARC reader, and I’m truly grateful to have been able to read this book before its publication. I rate it 3.5/5
To start, from an objective point of view, I liked the story, but I have to admit my favorite is still the first book. 🫶🏼
At the beginning, the story felt a bit slow (since it takes place before the events of the first book). I don’t know why I thought it would start afterward, haha. But I understand that, chronologically, it makes sense to explain how everything began.
I feel like there was a lot of miscommunication throughout the book, but I understand that was the whole point, as it’s what drives the plot forward.
As a couple, I liked them, but toward the end, Margo started to annoy me. She wanted Liam, but after being with him, she told him they should just be friends (it felt like she was toying with him). Because of this, I really appreciated that Liam was able to set boundaries, although that didn’t make it hurt any less. 💔 (When she overheard him talking in the locker room, it destroyed me. After that, I wouldn’t have spoken to him again, haha). P.S.: During those scenes, all I could imagine was Ariana Grande’s “One Last Time” playing in the background. 😖
I’m not going to lie—it hurt, and I took it personally when Liam said he wasn’t in love anymore and was going to start dating Sabrina. I usually don’t enjoy dramas that involve another woman in the storyline (like the ex in the first book), but at least Sabrina was barely mentioned.
Something I did find disappointing, and the reason I rated this 3.5 stars instead of 4, is that the ending left me with a bitter taste. I understand why they had to separate since they were being toxic, but the fact that Margo was the one to face the consequences when she was the one who had suffered sexual and physical abuse for months… that was a huge no for me.
The fact that Liam asked for time at the hospital, when she was the one who, in my opinion, needed space to heal after all the abuse, felt unfair. During that time, Liam should’ve been working on completing the list to win her back.
I also wish there had been more closure regarding the parents. I had the same feeling with the first book. I think they should’ve clarified whether she cut ties with them, if they apologized, or something, haha.
On another note, I can’t wait to read Chris and Verina’s story! I’ve loved them since the first book, and I’m totally hoping Verina makes him grovel for the things he said in the locker room.
3.5 I really liked the first book ❤️ and I’ve been waiting for the others to come out! 📚 I love this story and their friendship 🥰 I also can’t wait for Chris & Verina’s and Neil & Juliette’s books 😍 I’ve wanted their stories from the very beginning! ✨
This book was such a fun read! This book follows Margo and William and after a fun time in Greece, a good future was expected but it wasn't that. There is groveling, pinning, and so many ups and downs. The love that both of these characters have for each other is so strong and seeing the character growth with everyone was absolutely beautiful. The side characters were also amazing and I can't wait to read the next books in the series/ I wish there was a bit more communication with them but overall I love this series and I loved this book.
Favorite Quote: “No Margo, we were more than I’ve ever experienced in my entire life.”
Special thanks to the author for giving me an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review
I loved this book so much. I still think Adriana and Grayson are superior but Liam and Margo’s is so close. Margo and Liam’s relationship was so raw, with strong chemistry but also really bad miscommunication and that trope really bothers me but this story was so worth it. I hated Ben, and the way he treated Margo was disgusting and I wish Liam had figured it long before it got the point where she had been kidnapped but overall he was absolutely boyfriend but he just need to trust her more. I loved their relationship and story and I can’t wait for Chris and Verina’s next🥰🥰🥰
