Possessive Billionaire’s Twisted Hunt

Rate this book
He vanished without a word—now he’s back to drag her into his obsession.

“Run, Ivy. Hide. If I catch you again, you’ll be mine.”

Christian Evans’ words from five years ago still echo in Ivy Watson’s mind, as do the memories of him—memories that refuse to fade.

Back then, as an intern at the prestigious Evans Holdings, Ivy couldn’t escape her billionaire boss’s relentless pursuit. Christian loved her with an intensity that left her shaken. His love was overwhelming, possessive, all-consuming. He became her shadow, her storm—until one day, he vanished without a word, leaving her to drown in the darkness he left behind.

Now, she’s fallen into his arms again.

Christian has returned, and this time, he’s not letting her go. His obsession burns hotter than ever, every action a declaration that Ivy belongs to him. He’s everywhere—proposing to her, protecting her, feeding her, fighting for her, and vowing that she’ll marry him, bear his children, and belong to him forever.

He’s stalking her again.

But Ivy knows his game. And she won’t fall in love with him.

Not again.

Never again.

quick read

So the book was ok. Not one I’d say you have to grab. It’s a fast book so if you’re looking for something that moves fast this is it. But only if you aren’t expecting a masterpiece

The plot has so much to be desired. Was more of a no because of the outlandish dx. Why not have him fall under a mysterious curse or prick his finger on a spinning wheel- they would be more realistic.

Needs editing but if you like a book based heavily on the naughty bits then this has it, just like the rest of the series.

A gorgeous billionaire in his thirties who's obsessed with our super annoying fmc
Instead of jumping and grabbing him to the altar since he keeps proposing and following her literally everywhere, idk when he works exactly he's supposed to be ceo of multiple companies, she keeps whining and crying over it.
Christian is the multitasking king tho, he needs to teach me how to do it

I would have enjoyed this book much much more if the girl wasn’t being a bitch for the first 30% of the book. Her reluctance would have made sense if her depression and devastation of when he left five years ago was explained initially rather than it being told later. As a reader I would have understood and rooted for her to be angry with him, but without that context, it really sucked the fun out the plot for me.

He was like a kicked puppy. The scenes where she acted like she didn’t even give a fuck when he was in hospital, felt harsh, and I don’t think were necessary but overall good plot and writing. Enjoyed it thoroughly. I also rlly like that the guy had a good support system w his dad and friends.

The guy was chef’s kiss 🤌. No notes. The way he was obsessed w her….
I was obsessed.
And the sex was 🔥🔥🔥🔥

The MCs do not have exs they loved in the past so Safe for me.

Honestly it felt like this book was big all over the place and I couldn’t connect with either main character. They are supposed to be grown adults and they acted like immature teenagers who throw tantrums when they don’t get their way. Christian at least has a bit of excuse considering his traumatic background (but again no excuse for basically becoming Ivy’s stalker) and Ivy, you would think the man committed a major offensive against her the way she was acting towards him and they weren’t even officially dating at the time.

A few years before, Ivy worked for Christian and due to a prior meet cute Christian decided Ivy was the only woman for him; and began his version of courtship, aka his overbearing ways. Ivy didn’t like it at first but then he wore her down and she fell for him, but she pretended he was annoying and the suddenly he disappeared for a few years no explanation and the he showed back up in her life just as obsessed with her as before. Ivy, of course, was not please, but Christian would not be stopped for she was his one and only.

Ivy pretty much pretends to hate him for a bit even after learning why disappeared; he has a very bad trauma response to his mother who abandoned him on the streets as child which triggers his psychosomatic paralysis. Then suddenly she changes her mind and they get married, Christian never stops being obsessed with her even when she continues the push and pull with his feelings. His friends are concerned about him and Ivy doesn’t know what to feel about him and then his mother returns.

It just a big jumble and I just didn’t feel like the characters actually wanted to be together. In the end, I liked Christian more than Ivy because at least I felt he did everything for love and Ivy just was too indecisive.

Hot sex scenes but not much substance

If all you want is to read sex scenes, then this is a book for you. If you want a little substance with your smut, then maybe take a pass.

Don't get me wrong, the story itself isn't bad, but it definitely wasn't my favorite in this series and it took me much longer to finish this book than the previous books in this series. I found the plot to be both confusing and repetitive. The author took too long to explain why Ivy held so much animosity towards Christian while explaining Christian's affliction over and over again. I also don't understand how all of the people in Christian's life knew of their relationship but never once went to her to let her know why he supposedly dissappeared.

More than half the book is sex scenes, and while I enjoy a good sex scene, these were so drawn out that the scenes were again repetitive. The minor conflicts with the characters outside of the relationship should have helped to propel the story, but all kind of fell flat. Each conflict (and there were plenty) seemed like an afterthought and became pointless.

On her first day of internship, her new boss, billionaire Christian Evans, literally claimed Ivy Watson publicly, in a bar, in front of all her working associates. That was strange enough. But then after being together for three months, during which time she fell in love with him, he completely disappeared. Five years later he reappeared and claimed her again, as though no time had lapsed, as though he had not broken her heart. Everybody has secrets. The story of Ivy and Christian weaving their way through their own personal secrets and then dealing with each other's private secrets made this a very interesting read. You never know people as well as you think and the author has woven a love story around that odd reality. Christian is the epitome of a very polite and sophisticated case of stalking. Ivy is that rarity that combines strength and determination together with softness and weakness. The author weaves distinctly different stories buried within stories in this book. It is a lot steamier than her previous books in this series.

This is the lowest I could get my hands on the rating & I don’t like it. Cause if I could, I would rate a 0.5 ⭐️.

Now, know this - I don’t mean to criticise. But this has been an agony to finish & its worst than slow burns cause I’ve a patience level of a newborn baby.

Anyway, IVY WATSON annoys the fuck out of me. Like I get it, he left you for 5 years with no word. But he explained why, or his assistant did - I don’t know which is which. And you’re still going back & forth, glaring and being a pain in the ass.
Im just saying, if you don’t like him or think a man had a paralytic attack isn’t a good enough reason to ghost you - then just leave.

Also CHRISTIAN EVANS - I can’t - with the way he sex talks to Ivy. It’s clear the author wants to showcase that this man is capable of being a fluff animal for his wife. But there are just some scenes that I’m not quite on it.

To summarise everything, no. This is a big fat no. I gave chances for Ava’s other books. But this does not go on my list.

But happy reading. Minus the hair mulling part from myself.

3/5 ⭐️

I’ve been enjoying this series, despite the lack of a solid plot and the over-the-top clichés — and yet, this book is easily my favorite so far!

Christian’s obsession with Ivy was everything. I loved how devoted and relentless he was — he would do anything for her, and his level of possessiveness was intense in the best way. Also, him being celibate during their years apart? Absolute bonus points for that.

Ivy definitely got on my nerves at times — she wasn’t always the easiest heroine to root for — but Christian more than made up for it. And the bromance between Christian, Sawyer, and Larry? Hilarious. Those scenes added just the right amount of levity to balance all the angst and spice.

If you’re into possessive, obsessive billionaires, second chances, and a touch of found-family bromance, this one won’t disappoint.

Christian fell in love with Ivy at first sight. And then he disappeared for five years, for reasons unknown to her. It left her heartbroken but she had finally moved on. Then out of the blue she runs into him, literally, leaving her feeling shaken and confused. After all this time, his obsession with her is more powerful and possessive than ever. And he is determined to make her his no matter what she has to say about it. Will Ivy be able to let down her guard and forgive Christian for breaking her heart years ago? I've read this whole series and it keeps getting better and better. This one I believe may be my favorite. If you love a very spicy story with lots and lots of smex, and an over the top jealous possessive hero then you should absolutely devour this book!

This was another great book in this series! The storyline of this one was especially intriguing for me, and there were some really good twists that really added to the story. The spice level was definitely higher in this book than in the previous ones also!! I loved these characters, and found myself really rooting for them. This was a great addition to the series, and I’m excited for the next book!

Nah not good..

This was a big disappointment. Missing the emotional pull and weak MMC. Uninteresting plotline also. The writing was too narrative with lots of telling. The h was weak and the heroine was boring. Don't care for this one. Good thing I read this as the last book of the series. The h having a trauma and becomes catatonic and crying every time seeing the mother at 35 years old was unrealistic and weak angst in my opinion. Will still read A.S. other books though.

Not what I'm used to, but now I'm a super fan!

I haven't read a book with this writing style before, but I'm so happy I found this author. All I can say is I'm a fan for life and will read anything with their name on it. I was absorbed immediately and couldn't put it down. Very emotionally satisfying and just the change of pace I needed!
