Grim Wilds #4

Redeemed Wolf: an m/m shifter mpreg romance

Rate this book
How much redemption will it take to make him worthy of love?

Alpha wolf shifter Silas knows he was never meant to be the hero, but he doesn’t mind being the villain. After all, it got him what he’s always wanted in the end—power. With his old rival permanently out of the way, Silas finally took over as the Alpha of the Overlands pack, on top where he’s always belonged. But he’s disappointed to find that it doesn’t feel as good as he thought it would. There’s infighting among the disjointed pack, petty squabbles and clashing egos, and now he’s expected to keep them all in line? Where’s the love and loyalty? This doesn’t feel like a home, like a family, not the way the Grim Wilds pack does.

The Grim Wilds pack doesn’t even like him, but they’ve still shown him more respect than his own pack of near strangers. He finds himself coming up with excuses to be close to them, and maybe, just maybe… he can convince them of a more permanent solution.

When Silas hears they’re planning to go after the lost members of their family, being held in a private lab, he doesn’t hesitate to volunteer to go undercover. Risking his life for a dangerous mission? Perfect. This is his chance to show that he could be a useful member of their pack. Because maybe he doesn’t want to be Alpha anymore, not when he could have a family, somewhere that feels like he belongs.

Because all the power in the world means nothing when you don’t have anyone to share it with.

Fate has put him right where he’s meant to be.

Redeemed Wolf is the fourth and final book in the Grim Wilds series, an m/m, mpreg, shifter romance series, wrapped in magic and lore. Picking up where book three left off, this installment takes Silas away from forest and into the city, cut off from the pack he’s grown attached to, where he’s faced with challenges he couldn’t possibly have prepared for—like his fated mate.

Damn, I just devoured all four books in less than three days.

And while none of them were perfect I enjoyed reading them all the same. All of them were kind of insta love due to the fated-mate pull and all of them had a captivating plot in one way or another.

What all these books had also in common was that the bad guys were all cartoonishly characterized villain types. It was obnoxious, honestly. And none of them more than in this one. *lmaooo

But this last one also had all the happy endings you could wish for and if you ask me, this whole series all but screams for a next-generation sequel. If there is one coming, I’m def going to read it.

I'm so sad this series is over.
I loved it so much!!!

I was nervous going into this 4th book, as I wasn't sure if I'd be able to like Silas, after his role in the other 3 books, but I shouldn't have worried. I ended up loving him.

This had a slightly different feel to it, with it not being so wrapped up in Grim Wilds, but it was so so good.

I wish I had hope for more books in this series, but I think they wrapped up all of the loose ends.
....Although, there is still Mike, the bartender in the city.

I'll definitely be looking into other books by this author.

I can’t believe we’ve come to the end of this series! After reading books 1-3 I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this story and it was totally worth the wait. This was a wonderful conclusion to the series and I loved how we got to see all the past couples and other characters at the end. It was wrapped up really well.

I really loved everything about Silas. Just seeing the growth in him and stepping up to be the Alpha his mate and pack needed was so wonderful! He fully redeemed himself in my eyes! We didn’t meet Carter until a ways into the book but that made sense with the story. Carter was so sweet and I loved him too. He needed Silas so much and I loved how they supported one another!

This book is a great balance of action, excitement, love and romance! I do recommend reading the whole series before this one as it will make more sense for sure. I absolutely recommend it and anything else by this author! Can’t wait to see what they come up with next!

Redeemed Wolf is the 4th book in the Grim Wilds series. In my opinion I think it's better to read the series in order because of the story arc. What a great way to end the series. This is the story of Silas an alpha wolf shifter and Carter an omega who doesn't know he's a shifter. I love how Silas wants to be a better alpha and works to prove it. We don't meet Carter until a ways through the story but it works best for the story. I loved the ending of the book and was happy to see everyone from the other books in the series again. I would definitely recommend this book and series.

Redeemed Wolf by Trish Linde is the 4th book in her Grim Wilds series. I suggest that you read the others first as they contain characters and an ongoing plot that appear in this one. It is the story of an Alpha Wolf who doesn’t feel like he belongs anywhere until he redeems himself by helping to free some wolves who are being held hostage and experimented on by a madman and along the way he finds his forever mate. Silas is an Alpha wolf who was raised in the Overlands Pack by his abusive father and then by the Alpha of the pack, Thorn, who was a horrible leader and forced him to be his Beta after scarring him in a fight and do things he knew were wrong. Once Shan, the Alpha of the Grim Wilds Pack, took Thorn out Silas became the Alpha of his pack, but he was disrespected and not seen as their leader. He had been around the Grim Wilds pack enough to see what a real leader and pack should be like with the members working together and forming a family. He longed for this and asked to become a member but he wasn’t trusted by Shan yet. Jude, Shan’s Beta, and his father Jesse, brothers, and sister had been kept in captivity by Dr. Robert Gray and Dr. Eric Taylor in a lab where they were experimented on, given drugs to try to see how they could shift, and kept in conditions where they couldn’t change into their wolves. Jude and Jesse had escaped and Dr. Gray killed and Jude went to live with the Grim Wilds Pack while Jesse married Joe, a man who seemed to have mafia ties. But Isaac, Amelia, and Carter had not escaped. Shan had gotten information from Joe that they think they know where the lab is. None of his pack could go to rescue them because they would be recognized, but Silas volunteered. He got an interview and managed to hide that he was a shifter, and then was hired. The story continues as he works his way into Dr. Taylor trusting him and giving him more secret jobs and when he meets Carter, who is working with the doctor, he recognizes him. He also realizes that he is his mate. Carter has been through some things and has an interesting relationship with Dr. Taylor who has been giving him drugs so that he has no idea he is a shifter like those they are experimenting on. He recognizes something in Silas but doesn’t know what it is or what to do about it. Meanwhile Silas has found the other siblings and has to make a decision on how to free them before the doctor and guards discover what he is doing. The pull between Carter and Silas continues to grow and they go on dates which leads to some hot love scenes, all the while with Silas not knowing how to approach Carter about what he really is. Then, with some help, they cause a ruckus and are able to free all of the shifters that are being held captive. They return to the Grim Wilds Packlands and know that since they didn’t kill Dr. Taylor that they will be coming for them, which they do in an epic scene that keeps you on the edge of your seat and the doctor finally gets what’s coming to him. During all of this Carter and Silas have fallen in love and Carter slowly learns what it means to have a wolf side. Silas has also learned that he wants to stay with his pack so they can be like Shan’s pack and have strength, unity, prosperity, and became a family and lead them with Carter at his side. I really enjoyed this book. There is a lot of suspense as Silas has to figure out how to free the shifters at the lab without outing himself. Carter has had quite the life not knowing what he really is and thinking that Dr. Taylor is related to him. He knows he is attracted to Silas but not why and it takes time for him to realize what he is and what Silas means to him. Dr. Taylor is truly evil as are some of the guards he takes on the journey with him. Shan, Jude, Pacy (Sila’s Beta), Vesta (their Shaman), and the members of both packs play a big part in what is happening and helping everyone to be free. And of course, Silas and Carter have a surprise at the end of the book that completes their family. I highly recommend this book, especially if you like action packed and suspenseful stories about fated mates that find each other in the middle of a horrible situation and have to learn some lessons about themselves in order to find the love they deserve.

Finding Himself . . .

We get to see Silas go through some important growth and realizations as he tries to be worthy and is ultimately rewarded with exactly what he needs. Still not feeling he is where he belongs as the Overlands Pack Alpha, Silas offers to go undercover for another pack in a rescue effort to save Jude’s missing family members being held captive in a super secret lab. The risk is high, but for Silas, the reward may be exactly what he needs to become the Alpha he needs to become. Most important, he really does want to do better for his pack. He just hasn’t known how.

So the mission Silas takes on is to infiltrate the lab and find out what has been going on. He gets hired as a guard at the lab and Dr. Eric Taylor tells Silas that he has a team working on splicing shifter DNA with that of humans to create manmade shifters. But before Silas can ask further questions, the lab door opened and a scent caught Silas’ full attention as his wolf went almost feral, barely suppressing a snarl. Fortunately the doctor turned to the door and greeted Carter. Why wasn’t Carter -- wearing a lab coat and apparently working with Dr. Taylor -- one of the captives? Had Carter betrayed them all? Would he warn the doctor that Silas was a wolf? Yet he didn’t seem to recognize him as a fellow shifter. And Silas hadn’t sensed a wolf inside of Carter… he was empty and hollow, a human! Dr. Taylor started telling him to try splicing different species together -- the possibilities are endless! Silas stepped forward to “flirt” with Carter to get more information and almost got shot by the doctor’s hidden gun as he intervened and asked Carter to leave -- but Silas heard Carter call the man “Dad”!

Carter’s “father” has been drugging him, telling him lies as he assists him in the lab. When he meets Silas, who turns out to be his mate, he is unable to react to him because of the drugs. He has no idea that Silas is an alpha wolf shifter and meant for Carter, who is actually an omega unaware that they are both shifters. Can Silas and the Grim Wilds Pack Alpha Shan work together to free the captives? And will Silas and Carter have a future together? Or has Eric Taylor destroyed that possibility?

Entertaining enough. I like Silas and Carter, they’re sweet together.

The only things I didn’t particularly enjoy were:
The complete lack of foresight.
In a previous book, we’re told shifters don’t really involve law enforcement (despite their irrelevant friendship with a coyote shifter law officer) and shifter disputes are settled by shifter law (though I think some kind of council was mentioned in book 1?). Yet every big bad this in series except Tristan’s, they fight then let the Bad Guy go with no lasting consequences, only for it to come back and bite them in the butts.
Did you think these awful guys will suddenly just give up..? Of course not. Our heroes fight, run and then prepare the pack for when trouble inevitably follows, so just cut out the danger to your pack and deal with it the first time. You’d think they’d learn, since it happens every time.

I also felt Carter’s “Dad” needed to pick one motivation and commit to it. He says he was hoping to find a cure to purify Carter’s blood…as he’s standing there, having spliced shifter DNA with his own.
If he was just a power-hungry man, determined to attain all the benefits of shifter blood without “debasing himself as an animal” OR he’s a human disgusted by the existence of these man-beasts and determined to eradicate their filth, he would have made more sense to me? Smart-evil, rather than confused but hate-filled.
And why adopt Carter if he’s not really Eric’s blood-son, he could have carried out the same experiments trying to “cure” him with Carter kept in a cell like all of Eric’s other victims. What was his motivation?

I loved the growing connection between Silas and Carter. They each had their own paths but together they were able to create a strong bond. Carter had his whole life back and was now a free new wolf shifter. Carter was being held captive by Eric unknowingly. Silas was able to get inside the facility that the shifters were being hurt and abused and had gotten the evil man Eric to trust him, then he got them all out. The shifters were not in good shape they were not fed or cared for at all so they couldn’t fight back and free themselves. Eric had Carter fooled for years telling him that he was his father and that he would always protect him and keep him safe. Eric was the absolute worst being he was the one that drugged and did unthinkable things to Carter and others in his labs. He had Carter fooled into thinking he was helping them with finding a medicine for people with the same issues Carter has (which is his wolf talking to him). Silas and Carter are fated mates and worked together to create a strong and loving family of shifters and a human. Then Eric fallowed them and attacked them on their land. Eric was figuring out how to get dna and made himself and his other unwilling cohorts into unnatural creatures to get rid of the shifters. The evil did not win in the end but it was quite a fight.

This is the fourth and final book in the Grimm Wilds series. You should really read this series in order to get the most out of this book. This book focuses on Carter and Silas. This book shows a lot of growth and maturity for Silas. He is an alpha wolf shifter that has taken over as Alpha of the Overlands pack. Releasing the pack from their abusive Alpha has not brought the changes that Silas is looking for. He wants what the Grimm Wilds pack has. Silas volunteers for a dangerous undercover job of going into a lab where shifters are being held and abused. He believes it will get him an invitation to join the Grimm Wilds pack. But instead he finds so much more. Silas finds his mate. Carter believes the head evil Lab boss is his father. But in reality, he is treating him with drugs that diminish his inner wolf. Carter is a shifter that doesn't know that he is a shifter anymore. Meeting Silas sets off chaos in the careful facade that Eric his dad has created. This is their story. I liked how when Carter is rescued and returned to his family that the story shows how overwhelmed and confused he is. He is undergoing an incredible stressful time trying to process that information. Unfortunately, the danger isn't done. There is more challenges ahead. The book is written well and is easy to read. I enjoyed the book and look forward to future books by this author.

Silas more than earns his redemption in this book, he gains some personal insight and growth, and finds his mate. His journey is a rough one and he has to do some really unpleasant things while waiting for an opportunity to claim his mate and set him and others free from the enemy. Carter didn't suffer the same way others did for long, as Dr. Taylor found a new way to destroy him. Before Silas and Carter can find love and HEA, they have a whole lot to get through first, both individually and together.
There is a lot of danger, violence, and heartbreak in this book that is nicely balanced with the personal growth, love, and new beginnings.
This is the last book in this series and I have to admit I feel a bit deprived. There were other characters that I felt deserved to have their stories told, but perhaps there will be a spinoff series.
Overall, I enjoyed this book. It is not a standalone and should be read in order.

"I’ve been all alone for so long, and for the first time, I think I’m ready to let someone in."

This is book 4 the final book in the Grim Wilds series by Trisha Linde. When I saw this on Booksprout I grabbed it so fast and I'm so glad I did. What a great story and a great ending to the series.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a follow-up series at some point, this series is just too good to let go.

Since the first time Silas was introduced in the series I had high hopes that he'd get a book and we'd finally get to see the real Silas. This story was everything I hoped for and more. I actually cried in certain spots.

If you haven't started this series don't start in the middle start at the beginning with book 1. To get the full amount of enjoyment and the full set of emotions, you have to start at the very beginning.

Fated mates, lost members, found family, hurt/comfort, MPREG

During this series we have seen Silas go through some things, make some questionable moves and now he is in a place where he wants to work his way to a better place. Silas is struggling as pack alpha for the Overlands Pack and he realizes that there has to be a better way to live. He is willing to risk going undercover for the sake of the Grim Wilds Pack where members of their pack are being held captive in a lab. He realizes once he is undercover things are even more precarious as his mate is there and being drugged by his own father who is doing bad things to many people. Silas takes on some real evil and his willingness to risk in the service of his desire to find redemption turns out to be a hard road that lead to an outcome that was needed by the folks being harmed by the baddies. An exciting end to the series.

I really loved this book and the series overall. Silas was always one I hoped to see more of. I wasn’t sure which direction he’d go (good or bad), but I was hoping for a nice redemption story for him. I think his story was done really well. He isn’t just invited into Grim Wilds and all is forgotten. He has to prove himself, and in the process, he discovers who he’s meant to be, and finds his mate as well.

Carter was a great character. I thought his situation was unique and interesting. He’s completely clueless, but his wolf instincts help guide him to Silas and things evolve from there.

The climax scene was good. I wasn’t surprised at what the doctor had done, but I was still on edge about what was going to happen. Vesta’s story arc was really bittersweet, and that did actually catch me off guard, as well as break my heart at seeing everyone react, especially Tristan.

I would definitely read more from this author, and this world if they decide to expand it past Grim Wilds.

I loved this book! Silas doubts his ability to be the Alpha of the Overlands Pack and it will send him to the Grim Wilds pack with the hope of joining Shan’s pack. Before that can happen, they will need someone undercover in the lab where Jude’s siblings are being held and Silas will volunteer. His bravery will lead him to his mate and together they will be able to end the horrors of the lab. There will be danger from the doctor in charge but the two packs will band together and will win the day but not without a great loss to them both. It will clear the way for Silas and his mate, Carter, to get their happily ever after and Silas will get Shan’s support to remain the Overlands Alpha.

Awesome end of series. I hope there are more stories of potential couples. Silas, unfortunately learns that the grass is not greener on the other side, it's brown all over and that's okay. He learns that being Pack Alpha of Overlands is not all it's cracked up to be when the Pack is internally unhappy. He covets the Grim Wilds' synergy and his attempted entrance interview leads to unexpected results. He sacrifices, makes important discoveries and grows into the man he's had inside all along. I absolutely love his wolf. This a great story of family, found family, acceptance, adventure, strength, loyalty and love. Great cover art! Well done! I have loved the Grimm Wilds pack, their camp in the woods and their jumbled family is just so beautiful. Each story in this series has added to the Pack's family and this book has just brought it all together.

Silas hasn't ever felt like he belonged anywhere and as Alpha of his own pack he doesn't feel worthy so offering to go undercover to support the Grimm Wilds pack made sense, he never imagined he'd meet his mate or who he would be.

Carter has been raised by his dad, helping to run the lab that was created to improve his health and life quality, or so he thought.

When Carter and Silas meet Carter's reactions and emotions are blocked by the drugs he's been taking most of his life, he has no knowledge of Shifter's or what his dad is really doing.

This is an epic journey with drama, self discovery a whole lot of love, what a captivating read to end this amazing series.

Redeemed Wolf delivers a powerful conclusion to the Grim Wilds series, combining suspense, romance, and emotional growth. Silas, a brooding Alpha wolf shifter, embarks on a high-stakes mission to prove himself, all while grappling with his past and yearning for belonging. His connection with his fated mate is electric, offering a perfect balance of passion and heart.

Trisha Linde handles darker themes, like past abuse, with care, adding depth to this magical and action-packed world. Fans of shifter romances will love this heartfelt tale of redemption, love, and finding family. A satisfying and unmissable finale!

I cried from the beginning, middle and end of this book. For many reasons. One of the reasons because I was sad to see the series end. Also I love Vesta so much. I love seeing Silas grow into the alpha that he was meant to be and Carter finding himself. I wish that Amelia would have found a mate. And I really wish that Isaac, Damon and Stuart have received their own book. I'm glad that there is finally closure with the lab but it wasn't ready for the series to end. I feel like it's letting go of good friends.

'I was so clueless about what game they were playing here, and how was I supposed to cheat when I didn’t even know the rules?'

I loved this book. Great world building and wonderful characters. I loved both Silas and Carter. This story was quite the journey for Silas. I liked that in the beginning of the book we stayed with Silas until his first encounter with Carter. I liked the way their relationship developed and grew.

'He seemed desperate to keep his hands on me, and I was happy to oblige.
He was the only place I felt safe.'

The story had suspense and danger and I couldn't wait to see how things would turn out! 5 stars.

This book gave me anxiety, I had to stop every few minutes take a breath and carry on. It was an epic conclusion to the story. Wild Grims has come to an end and I am sad to see this series go. Silas and Carter were made for each other and they had to fight for their HEA not only did they have to come to terms with some difficult decisions more with Silas than Carter but they also had to let the past trauma go for a bright future. Also, Eric was villaining hard and he got the end he deserved.

This whole series was just so good! This was a fantastic final addition. With a well written storyline that has plenty of action, fated mates, instant attraction and heat! I loved how this book really concentrates on Silas and his stepping up to be the Alpha his mate and pack need. Carter was perfect for him, he was just so sweet. Exceptional word building as Trisha builds their relationship to their eventual hard earned hea. Loved it and highly recommend.

I really enjoyed reading Silas story. After the little bits the author had teased us with in previous books I really wanted to see if he was as bad as it seems or if there was space for redemption. I'm very happy to say there was and it was very entertaining.
Carter's life is completely changed when he meets Silas and together they free the rest of Carter's family.
Both characters are very interesting, all the pain Carter has to confront, Silas' impostor syndrome, the most evil scientist you can imagine...
A very well told story with action, heat, feelings.
Don't miss it!

I'm glad Silas became the alpha he was meant to be after learning from Shan. That he found his mate in Carter is good while doing a job for the Grim Wilds pack. The battle to stop the evil Dr. Taylor was epic and I'm glad the bad guys were dealt with.

This was a dynamic story, creating an unforgettable and exciting
end to this excellent mpreg series.
The author Trisha Linde, has included an amazing plot line that adds another level to the world building in this series.
Another reason why she is one of my favorite authors.
Before reading this final book, I strongly suggest reading the
previous books. All the books in this series are page turners,
and I highly recommend the entire series!

This is definitely the most emotionally charged book of the series. I cried almost every chapter.

Both Silas and Carters stories broke my heart but thankfully it got put together by the end.

Its just sad how far hate can drive someone and how many people can be hurt by it.

I loved Pacey, Silas’s beta. Now that's a friend who will always have your back!!.

Silas is the alpha of his pack but feels that they don't respect him. When the neighboring pack needs help to rescue members of their pack he offers to help. He ends up finding his mate, Carter, but Carter doesn't know that he's a shifter. Silas has to get Carter to realize he's a shifter before he can rescue him. I really enjoyed this book.
