If you’re getting targeted ads on Instagram for the pay per chapter werewolf novels, this book is for you. If you read Teen Wolf fan fiction on Wattpad 10 years ago, run don’t walk to read this book. If either of those two above statements don’t apply to you, you should probably pass on this one.

Was the writing good? Not really. Did the title tell me pretty much exactly what was going to happen? Yes, yes it did. Were there plot holes? Many. Did I love this book anyway? Yes.

Possible spoilers ahead
This was a decent rejected mate, shifter book. The plot was a little different than others, which I appreciated. Usually, I end up hating H after the rejection- and I did hate H for a while- but his reasoning helps calm the hatred some.

Willow (the OW and bully to h) forced him to or else she’d have the witches kill h. Willow had found out h was a “black witch” (and black witches were put to death)
Supposedly, black witches are BAD, and the white witches are good. Or at least that’s what the white witches want you to think 🙃

h is absolutely humiliated in front of the whole pack. She’s kicked in the face, and her powers are bound. It was hard not to feel sad at this point. Your heart broke for her.

She is saved and leaves the pack. Oops, she’s pregnant 😁

In 7 years, she’s made a life for herself and her daughter. She’s now an attorney. Of course, H shows up at her law firm because of wolf business. He is surprised to see her.
He’s semi-smart enough that he figures out the timeline and sees the daughter to realize it’s his.

I will say H didn’t win h over easily. He had to grovel some. He was still married to Willow but had filed for divorce.

Both H and h had to embark on the adventure to find out the truth about the witches and their involvement with willow and willow’s dad. h also learns about her parents.

BIG SPOILER: h is technically the ruler of all the alphas. H is not. His dad ended up being the king’s right-hand man, and he let the king claim his son. It doesn’t matter because H and h get married, so they both rule. 🤪

I love this quote

“We were fated mates, Darian, and you watched the woman you are now married to kick me in the face and humiliate me. Don’t make me laugh,” she spits out. “You wanted to punish me because the fates had made the mistake of pairing us together. Well, you got what you wanted. You broke me into so many pieces that I still can’t find them all. You did what nobody was able to do my whole life. You made me wish for death. Does that make you happy?” “Did it please you to see me crawling on the ground, begging for mercy? Did it satisfy your anger? Are you here to do it all over again? Did you come here to hurt my daughter? To hurt me, using her? Because I will burn everything to the ground before I let you touch her. She is mine. She’s the only good thing in my life, and I’m not going to let you take her. You are the worst thing that ever happened to me, Darian Kassel. I wish I never met you. I despise you in my very core."

I loved this book, I'm a huge fan of
rejected mates & secret baby tropes. As I was reading the part where Darien the main character was telling his mate that she couldn't attend the royal parties for a few days because his father was making him attend with ow..was making me sooo mad..I knew the rejection was coming. And the way he rejected her a few days later made me cry..it was the worst way...with the witches hurting her..to find out later he didn't want to reject her...he was forced to. Cuz the other women willow threatened his mates life if he didn't marry her instead. I hated Willow..I love how he was celibate the 7 years they were separated...I hate in most shifter books the male mate is never celibate even in arranged marriages they can continue sleeping with there arranged wife...just to find there mate later and grovel ...I dislike those ones. But I loved that in this story he slept in a separate bedroom & didn't even touch the ow didn't mate her..told her it was in marriage only! Nothing else. I liked that when he did run into his mate finally she didn't take him back right away it was perfect amount of timing for him to truly grovel. I loved how he met his daughter, I'm glad he knew early on instead of last min..usually in books the child's scent is hidden & the father doesn't find out till like the end of the book..wich I don't care for..this one he finds out pretty early & I love how he finds out by his daughter running into his arms accidentally with ice cream lol so cute. & when he looked at her he knew.. best part ever! The shock when he realized...& I like that all questions were answered by the dark witch in the end. I'm wondering if there's going to be a book about her friend since her parents deaths were mentioned being suspicious in the end. I know she's only human but who knows. The story was great ..I only wish at the end we could of read about Darien finally showing his daughter the palace grounds and maybe a epilogue of another pregnancy and a 3 yrs or 1 yr later thing I love those. But overall...I loved this book..and it's really hard to find good shifter books. Some are so lame. Glad I found this one.

This book gave me fan fic vibes. It could use a bit of polish and tightening of the story.

Since it currently still needs a bit of a shine up, the story is drawn out with a lot of telling not showing, and the immature vibes of the characters in the beginning (I get they were like 23) was a lot. The start of the book gave me angst teenager vibes (especially for the MMC).

But what killed it for me was the miscommunication trope. The entire story hinges on us believing and forgiving a man who instead of talking to his partner chose to go along with a blackmailers demand and allow them to literally torture his partner in front of him! I'm sorry but no. Just like the FMC I agreed with her on telling him off regardless of his evidence that he did this all for her. To me this "alpha" was so incredibly weak. Most shifter books have badass alpha with all the "protect my woman" vibes which I love.

This book does not do that. The FMC is the strong one and he is a cinnamon role at best. The book is misleading in that regard. If you want a story soft "alpha" which Im using quotes for sarcasm cause he's not.

The last little thing is the two main characters look nothing like the book cover. Could we at least have AI gen art that matches what is described in the book? 😫

Writing is terrible quality & seems very basic. I couldn't decide if it was because they wanted the FMC to be non wordly but applies to all characters. DNF.

Great read, but a few WTF moments. Like, you fake your death but don’t change your name—first or last? You make up a fake great love but don’t have any photos, not even a stock photo? Then you can’t even keep the name of your fake husband straight? Homegirl didn’t even try. Her friend comes all the way to help her hide her daughter’s scent, and... they never get around to it?! So of course, she gets caught. Like, WTF!

Alice and Darian have cute banter. The betrayal was gut-wrenching, and the rebuilding of love and trust was handled well. I hated Darian with a passion earlier in the story and was convinced the author would never win me back, but she did—a mark of a good storyteller for sure. The fact that everyone makes terrible choices and has to live with their regrets is both fascinating and heartbreaking because the “what-ifs” and “if onlys” are too relatable.

I would have given it another star, but it was a bit slow in the middle. Also, when we got to the final few chapters, I didn’t care for the POV the story was told through. I felt it left a lot to be desired and nerfed the epicness of the final confrontation. Also, leaving some things ambiguous with the only explanation being “magic is complicated” is the epitome of lazy writing. I hated the “telling” instead of “showing” in the last chapter. It would have been nice to see Alice meeting with her old pack members, especially considering the horrific bullying she endured and her position at the end of the story. I guess my vindictive self wanted to see some sweet revenge meted out.

Lastly, Jason Marrock just disappears from the story. I know he served a purpose for a chapter or two, but it was so weird how he came in and out without any closure.

Didn’t even make it a quarter of the way in.

This belongs on one of those free sites, where you watch ads for each chapter.
More and more like this is making its way here.
It’s over the top, heavy angst, silly drama.

Glorified abuse as some form of a plot.
I’m so tired of starting a book, thinkings it’s one thing, only to find it’s nothing but predictable cliché tropes, and utterly implausible setups, filled with cringe and bad stereotypes.

Quite honestly I went into this book thinking it would be good second chance romance with some serious groveling from the hero, but I’m not sure what exactly happened here. Alice is the most abused character in the trope I have ever seen and she just copes with the abuse because that is what is allowed in her pack society due to her status. Alice has only 3 people who actually care about her life when she meets Darian and things start to look good for Alice, she has met her mate who seems to love her. Things quickly take a turn during the traditional mating ritual ball and Darian brutally rejects Alice in a way that almost kills her in front of everyone including her bully, Willow. Willow sends the white witches after Alice to kill her because she has been revealed to be a black witch, and Darian just watches while Alice is saved by the Alpha, Darian’s father, and her friends.

After 7 years of the being on the run after faking her death, Alice’s true fate has been revealed and Darian wants her back. However, Alice is not willing to go back especially not with their daughter after what he let happen to Alice and let’s not forget he is married and his wife is Willow.

You see, back then, Darian was apparently blackmailed by Willow once she found out about the Alice and black witches connection, which I still don’t understand. So he apparently had enough time to explain his stupid unhelpful plan to his best friend but not to Alice who was the most affected. Alice was never supposed to be hurt let alone killed, but naturally Willow went the extra step. Darian never wanted Willow and never touched Willow in any way and once he learned Alice was alive he divorced Willow. It was just odd because what he allowed to happen to Alice was traumatic but then he wanted to be forgiven so easily. Then he was so jealous when he thought Alice had moved on, like dude be for real you almost got her killed!

And then the whole white witches vs black witches thing was all over the place for me. Like you really waited centuries to finish a fight that last liked 5 seconds? Not to mention the book kept flip flopping the white witches were powerful and they feared them, but the Lycans ruled them and could take them out; which one is it?

And of course, the best part! Darian’s father is actually Alice’s father so Darian wasn’t the true heir, Alice was the heir, and his sister; oh let me clarify his adopted sister, did you get scared, like I did? So Alice was the biological heir to Alpha and Darian was the adopted heir and biological son of the Alpha’s Beta; not blood siblings at all. Was there a need to do this? Not at all, it just added more drama and twists to the story.

Also, I wasn’t fan of everyone in the book basically telling Alice to get over Darian’s betrayal and take him back because he seemed miserable without her. He deserved it, he could have figured a way to save her or at least warn her, his father was able to and he didn’t like Alice (the Alpha didn’t know Alice was his daughter before then, he realized it during the ball).

Honestly, it had the parts to make a great book but there was too much going.

DNF : 71%
🚨Spoiler Alert.

Three Reasons This Book Was Bad:

1. The characters on the book cover are nothing like the characters in the book.

Literally, ✨ don’t judge a book by its cover. ✨
But here I am, judging. 🫢
The FMC has red hair and I’m pretty sure the MMC has dark hair, though I can’t remember now. I don’t even think a single character has white hair like the cover.

2. The first 10 (or so) chapters were so, unimaginably bad.

Every sentence was “I did this, I felt this, I had that’. What happened to showing not telling? It was so immature. If not for my morbid curiosity to see why this book had 4+ stars on Kindle and Goodreads, I probably would have given up.

At this point, the characters are ‘young’ (22-23 YOA), which the author was trying to reflect this in her writing style, but come on. Literally, please do not write like it’s some 13-year-old on Wattpad!

It’s actually so uncomfortable to read.
I’ll give you an example:

His mouth is on mine. I feel funny. I don’t get sparks but I feel something else. <<< This is exactly how the writing felt to read.

Then the next ten chapters afterward are about the character starting a new life and she’s on a partner track at a law firm. Honestly, it was so mumble jumble, my mind couldn’t keep up. I’m probably just dumb, but we had a whole ten chapters of “I’m hated by the wolf world and I can’t wait to get out” and wolf politics then to jump to “talking legalities”. My mental switch wasn’t switching.

3. It dragged in every single way possible.

White witches, dark witches, wolf shifters, wolf spirit, half breeds, wolf kingdom, politics, humans, lawyers, businesses. partner track, orphan, villains with random vendettas that make no sense, leverage, blackmail, keeping child away from father, father not knowing about his own child, family trope struggles and external political pressures, the King is not really the king —the real king is a Queen? What? The old king took a dark witch as his wife, she died but they had a daughter, and never had a son, so he took in a random child -a son- and raised him to be a king. Humans can’t know about shifters, but two humans find out. Jealousy and just absolutely ENDLESS drama which feels like unorganised MESS.

It’s too much. It’s just too much. I’m overstimulated. I genuinely don’t know what’s happening.

Oh, and there was a lot of physical abuse in this. Abuse from officials like the Police, from her pack leaders, etc. The FMC is the victim in every case of abuse, because she doesn’t have wolf spirit and they all look down on her for it.
The abuse is so bad, and honestly, the blurb sounds like it’s going to be quite an easy-going book. It’s not. The MC literally marries a woman who kicked his mate in the face and tortured her all her life. She’s begging him to KILL her because it’s easier than to deal with the pain and humiliation in front of the whole Kingdom.

Frankly, I’m tried.
Can the spoilers just tell me what happens?
I don’t have the mental capacity.

Oh, and let’s not even talk about the sex.
What on earth was happening? Honestly… I kind of just feel sick.

I went to go DNF this and one of the reviews on here had me give this book a second chance.

The cover doesn’t match the description of the characters at all. The FMC is a red head and the MMC has brown or blonde hair.

I did not like the dialogue in the book at all, seemed idk how to word it.
The characters seemed very one dimensional

I don’t get how the king was pushing so hard for the MMC to marry the villain (forgot her name) so they can keep an eye on her and her father, then changed his mind but never told his son that he changed his mind. Then once the MMC married her, the white witches gained a lot of power. So that also backfired

Then it said that the Kjng gave Mary money for the FMC seemed to be forgotten because the FMC talked about how badly she struggled and had to work multiple jobs while pregnant.

The FMC finds out her and her daughter are in the last living black whites and the FMC doesn’t care to learn magic or anything but is going to have her daughter do it.

Good plot idea though

The storyline was good, but at times a bit too melodramatic. The pacing was off a little and sometimes the writing story structure felt a little clunky at times. It wasn't too horrible, and other than that, I really enjoyed this story.

Quick Summary: A fated mates romance

My Review: The Alpha's Cursed Queen: A Fated Mates Rejected Mates Secret Baby Werewolf Romance by Jaymin Snow is a 2025 release. It is a paranormal romance with shifters and witches. It is book #1 in the Eternal Oath Saga.

About the Book: "Rejected. Exiled. Pregnant. And now he wants me back?

Everything was fine until he swaggered into my office—full of regret, royal arrogance, and terrible timing. And the worst part? Our daughter’s blood isn’t just a secret—it’s a target."

In My Own Words: Fated mates who were destined to be together are torn apart due to vicious lies, dark manipulations, and mischief magic.

My Final Say: So.... This novel challenged me a bit. It did not start out smoothly. It was clunky and almost robotic. The characters came across as immature and unbelievable. I had to make myself keep reading. I'm glad I did. Around the 40% mark, the writing started to warm up and flow better. The story got interesting and the its direction became clear. The characters hit their stride and presented with much more confidence. I was then entertained enough to continue without fail.

While this story did play out fairly well, I confess that my curiosity was piqued about what's to come with certain characters. Most loose threads were addressed, but there were some that the author left dangling. In the end, I will admit that I liked the story, despite the rough start. I am glad that I did not DNF it.

Other: I really think that this novel would do extremely well as an audiobook. I hope the author considers using that format as an option for readers. I predict that it will do very well.

Rating: 3.25/5
Recommend: Yes
Audience: A
Status/Level: 👍
Cover: I totally love this cover, but it did not match the character descriptions.

By now you have to realize I love the rejected mate-secret baby trope. Even then I found myself leery about the length of this book, but it turns out I didn't mind.

Right from the start, I couldn't help but feel sorry for Alice. She's an orphan who was mistreated by her pack for her entire life. Despite that, she is a nice person with a kind heart who has built up so many defenses to keep herself from getting hurt. Alice isn’t naive, in fact, she's a little jaded, and she has every right to be. She learned long ago not to expect anything good from anyone. I just wished she would've defended herself more. As for Darian, I liked him at first. He didn't react to Alice the way I thought he would. He was kind, generous, and playful. Without saying too much, it got complicated and things happened. Then everything burned. And after everything was said and done, I still liked Darian.

Oh, the story was so good. A wolf kingdom hidden in the middle of LA, pack politics, royalty, fated mates, and then Jaymin added witches to the mix. Then she went beyond that with the factions. White witches versus dark witches, a horrible history, and wicked magic. Things weren't quite what they seemed. There is some shady going on that leads to a huge conspiracy. The majority of issues the MCs faced were because of Thomas, Alice's pack's beta, and his horrible daughter Willow. I hated both with a passion and cannot tell you how many times I yelled. Pretty early on, I was just waiting for them to get theirs.

The plot was all kinds of bananas, and there was one character who completely lost their mind, although I'm not sure they were fully sane from the start. They were so good, and the twists and turns were so unexpected. Like, what was even happening. In the end, I was riveted. Alpha's Cursed Queen was such a great read.

The Alpha's Cursed Queen, by Jaymin Snow, was an engaging paranormal story. I truly loved it and if I could give it more than five stars, I would. Alice had a miserable life, prior to meeting Darian, and the harshness of her existence increased afterwards. This was a fast paced ever changing story, with only two constants. First, Alice is hated and treated so abominably by her pack, that it will make you cry. Second, there are so many different agendas, nothing is as it seems in this story. Whenever I thought I had everything figured out, something would be revealed or happen to make me rethink my conclusions. I seriously found myself so invested in the storie's drama, that I really wanted to jump in the book and permanently dispose of a certain evilly deranged she-wolf and her equally despicable father. Honestly, aside from Alice, Mary, and Mira, everyone else, including Darian, was suspect until proven innocent. If you enjoy reading romantic mysteries and/ or paranormal stories you should add this to your must read list.

Not sure who’s on the cover as the FMC is a lawyer with a. ginger bob and the MMC is a prince with lean swimmer’s physique but sure, we can pretend.

When you’re in the mood for some secret baby rejected mate wolf shifter nonsense this could hit the spot!
Skimmed a bit but overall it was enjoyable.

I haven't read many shifter stories so I don't have a lot to compare this one to but it worked in maintaining my interest throughout the book. The h was left at an orphanage and has been physically and emotionally abused by the beta and his daughter. She feels unloved and unwanted by her pack. She also feels like an outsider because she has no wolf spirit.
She meets the H by chance and doesn't know that he is the prince. The h and her friend, a healer, are invited to the week-long mating event and the H arranges for them to stay in the family wing. The bond between the H and h has been building and during the week they spend a night together. At the mating ceremony, the H shocks the h by rejecting her as his mate and choosing the beta's daughter, the OW, instead. The h is accused of being a dark witch and is tortured by white witches. She receives help in getting medical care and in escaping to live in the human world. Seven years later the H meets the h who is now a lawyer and the mother of his child at a business meeting. This author keeps a complicated story of witches and bloodlines moving without detracting from the romance between the H and h.

ARC REVIEW

I love the way Jaymin Snow can weave a story. It was a little dark at the start, but it just showed how strong and resilient Alice is! I was hooked the moment I started reading. I appreciated the twists in the story and I cried more than I expected to. I really felt for the FMC. I was surprised this didn't end on a cliffhanger, but I can guess what the next book of the series will be about! I cant wait for the sequel!.

What's going on with this cover? It looks great and all, but she had red hair and he has brown.
Whatever. My review is meh.
It had moments of excitement.
I hate what he did to her.
I love what she made of herself.
I hate how easily she gave in to him.
I loved the daughter.
The world building was weak and so were the spicy scenes. Maybe one 🌶.

I don’t usually review books I haven’t finished. I made it about 50 pages in before I had to stop. I was either rolling my eyes or asking wtf was going on the entire time. (Not what’s going on because it’s purposely mysterious, no the author just skips describing what’s happening pretty regularly.)

If you told me an average 12 year old wrote this I would believe you.

A SOLID 4.5 STARS! This was pretty good and enjoyable even though I wasn't into Jaymin Snow's writing when I tried before. It's a mixed of fated mates, rejected mate and second chance all rolled into one. I had zero expectations when I delved into it, but I was thoroughly engaged. Not passionately intense, but more of an emotional rollercoaster of hurt and angst.

PS : The book cover is so misleading. The FMC is a ginger and the MMC is dark-haired. Why are the characters WHITE-HAIRED BLONDE?!

ALICE was dealt a bad hand in life, and after the past of how she came to be was revealed to me, I can tell you it was a shit hand. She was paying for the sins of her father and greedy individuals. All her life she grew up knowing she doesn't have a wolf spirit and was abused horribly by the pack that was supposed to care for her. When she meets Darian, she's skeptical about how he can truly like or want her as his fated mate. Sadly, her guts weren't wrong when he rejected her and she had to start life from scratch while realising she has to live for her unborn daughter.

Time skip 7 years later, we have a smorgasbord of emotional angst, denial, pain and I guess grovelling from Darian's side. These 7 years were a wonder for Alice who learned to build a new life, have confidence and to stand up for herself. She was no longer a voluntary victim. Her life doesn't have to revolve around a man, but she still had the option of forgiving Darian and choosing to be in love instead. I loved that. I dislike when a woman has to build her entire life when she's more than that. She is her own person, but still, love will come naturally when it does.

DARIAN was also a victim in this. Usually authors build the MMC into some kind of asshole but frankly, I liked Darian. He was young - they both were - and maybe it was his pride or he felt he couldn't trust his family to protect his fated mate so he made the wrong call to reject Alice and marry someone else (her lifetime bully). Sounds angsty, right? You'd wanna blame him, right? But thankfully we got a dual POV and we know why Darian did what he did, and trust me, the guy suffered for those 7 years of bad decision. There was NO CHEATING. While Darian and Alice were apart, they never slept with anyone else. And if you considered the amount of times he chased after Alice again, and tried to explain his side of the story and see how Alice's words broke his heart? Worth it. I'm sorry but, the man had to know what his actions had done before he could beg for forgiveness. Alice didn't deserve any of it.

Frankly, I was expecting hateful angst. Yes, Alice railed at Darian, they both poured out their feelings of how they've suffered and Darian's reasonings, and I don't blame either of them. Life just happened, bad guys and fate were at play...what else could they do but be puppets on a string?

Darian was too kind, never blaming Alice for keeping his daughter a secret or away. I think I've been reading too many second chance Harlequin Romance with secret pregnancies and asshole heroes - I expected him to blow up and make a big deal over it.

For once, the wool is pulled over my eyes and I'm thankful Darian was able to see the bigger picture and he wanted his mate back in his life MORE THAN ANYTHING. PRIDE was never an issue for him when it came to winning Alice back.

OVERALL this was satisfying in a sweet way. Darian was extremely devoted to Alice, and he didn't need to be a prick about it. He was 100% genuine, sincere and even though he made the wrong decision and believed he could protect her on his own terms, yes he fucked up, but he wasn't above doing the right thing to right his wrongs.

My only lament? I wished it could have been steamier.

so. freakin. good.

Moly Holy did I devour this! I am now an eternal member of the I LOVE ALICE LANE club, because seriously, the woman that she is. So many thoughts going through my mind as I am fresh from the high of finishing this story. I may have to come back later and edit to add more praise to this review and pose some questions I may have forgotten since I’m still coming down from the adrenaline that the last 20% of the book put me through.

The biggest indicator of whether or not this book was going to be a hit or miss for me was dependent on how annoying the MCs were. To my pleasant surprise, I loved everything about Alice and Darian, flaws and all (even Darian’s name being Darian.) The angst gave just the right amount of heart squeezes and the plot twists kept me on my toes. The white and dark witches history was such a good plot point and I enjoyed how the author flipped the script on the stereotypical archetype for them.

If I’m being honest, what sold me was Alice’s character and growth. I’ve had enough of FMCs struggling to make a living after running away from the MMC only to be strong armed into liking him again because he has the monetary means to dig her and her secret baby out of poverty even if she was “pridefully resisting” his help for all of two seconds. In this story Alice and Darian’s reunion was met on an equal level playing field. Both were successful in their own right—her a lawyer and him a CEO because of course he is—which allowed Alice more leeway to be as rightfully resistant and prideful as she wants. You know, because she can actually afford it. I love how she didn’t cower in the face of Darian’s coercion, even putting him in his place and reminding him that he was the reason for everything and therefore had no right to feel anything but remorseful and repentant towards her. Don’t EVEN get me started on her personality. Serious girlboss by day and playful and sassy minx by night. *Chefs kiss* No notes.

Some honorable mentions include amazing side characters and storyline set up for those characters. Obvi Mary was the side character MVP with Katherine running a close second. Suffice to say, this was a strong introduction to this new to me author, Jaymin Snow and the bar is set decently high. I will happily be continuing on this series, but first a nap.

This is, without a doubt, one if not the best books that I have had the pleasure of reading in 2025.

The story revolves around a young wolf shifter woman who is believed to he without a wolf spirit and, therefore cannot shift. She is bullied by the typical young entitled beautiful but ugly jealous papa's little girl that feels that through no fault of hers, she gets robbed of every good thing in life because of the poor shiftless more liked young woman who does the jobs that this entitled type would never do and, therefore must suffer for it.

With her father, who occupies a position of authority and reverts to physical punishment on the weak as well as the son of the pack alpha's son the bimbo and her crew inflict physical as well as emotional punishment on the main character.

Once Alice, the main character, meets a young man who appears to be interested in her as she is interested in him, Willow, the entitled sets out to disrupt this budding romance with all the wickedness that she can not forgetting to spread falsehoods to achieve her sordid goals.

As for the young man, Daran, he is the crown prince of the Wolf Kingdom, status that he takes care to hide from Alice for fear that he might lose her or not liked for himself rather than the prince.

The author, through her gift, has written a powerful book with meaningful food for thought such as what impact a bully might have on a person in this actual time as well as in the future and the meaning of parenting where it is not enough to just love and spoil your child but you, as a parent have a responsibility to properly educate and teach the child the difference between right and wrong.

This story touches all the interesting aspects to make this a page turner and I rate it as 5 Stars + because it is the highest possible rating here. In my book, it should be rated as a 10 Stars book.

Good

When Alice and Darian met, they fell hard; right up until he rejects her and betrays her with her worst enemy.
Seven years later, they meet again; and this time Alice is hiding the daughter he rejected along with her. But there are other forces working against them, and until Darian and Alice can learn the truth, she will always be in danger- and their daughter will be too.

The book is set up in two parts, the first is how Darian and Alice met and fell for each other, the second part takes place seven years later.
It’s a good book, but at times a little heartbreaking. Alice’s experiences were horrendously traumatic for her, and while Darian’s weren’t on the same level, he has also been put through the wringer. To be honest, while I felt sorry for him, he annoyed the heck out of me for being so easily manipulated- until I remembered that he too was young, and when we hear a little of his story later it begins to make far more sense!
This is the first book in a series, but holds a complete story. Technically this makes it a standalone, BUT there are other stories within the world that begin in this book, so the series should definitely be read in order. That being said, Alice and Darian’s tale is complete, and ends with all their loose ends tied up, to make for a very satisfying read.

If you enjoy rejected mates or secret baby tropes, evil villains, fated mates, and a heroine who overcomes adversity to find strength and happiness- then this is definitely a book you will enjoy!
Recommended for PNR/UF lovers.

Let’s start with the obvious: 610 pages is a commitment. I hesitated. Was I about to wade through yet another shifter romance filled with eye-roll-inducing tropes and rejected mates angst? Possibly. But I dared to open the book anyway—and what a ride it turned out to be.

Now, let’s not pretend it was love at first page. The opening? Clunky. The dialogue felt like it came from an AI that had been force-fed every wolf pack cliché imaginable, and the characters? As immature as a high school group project gone wrong. I had to force myself to keep going, and trust me, I almost didn’t.

But lo and behold, something magical happened. The writing hit its stride. The pacing tightened, the characters stopped whining and started living, and the plot finally shed its awkward cocoon. Suddenly, I was no longer trudging—I was turning pages. Willingly. And ended it in less than 24 hours.

Jaymin Snow manages to redeem herself with a plot that, while not genre-breaking, delivers a satisfying punch of fantasy drama, romance, and enough supernatural intrigue to make me curious about what’s next. A few loose threads remain (ahem, certain side characters that deserve more than a vanishing act), but most plotlines tied up nicely.

A quick word to the wise: rethink the cover. Yes, it's beautiful, but it whispers promises the book doesn’t quite keep. And while we’re being honest, a cleaner, tighter edit would work wonders.

Still, The Alpha’s Cursed Queen clawed its way into my good graces—and that’s saying something. If you can survive the bumpy takeoff, the landing is worth it.

Alice has spent her life among the wolf pack that never let her forget he curse. She's kept her head down, but just when she thought she would be able to escape she is forced to attend the royal mating gathering. He said he wanted her. That she is his fated mate, but Darien Kassel is the Prince of The Wolves and instead of claiming her he banished her, has her stripped of her powers, and worst of all, he accepts one of her biggest tormentors as his wife and future queen. She barely survived but after years she has managed to become a successful attorney and raise a child in a human city. Then he walks back into her life with no knowledge of his child and refuses to walk away. He says he was protecting her, that he still wants her, but Alice heard that before and it nearly destroyed her.
Wow, I have to admit that I didn't want to put this book down. I loved it! The characters are brilliantly portrayed with unique and compelling personalities. This is a fantastic shifter romance, but I have to say that it does have many darker scenes that may be difficult for some to read. Magic, political intrigue, shifters, witches, fated mates, violence, and enough twists in the plot to leave the reader reeling. Steamy interludes between the female and male lead characters and a happily ever after forward this a must-read book. I am looking forward to more books in this series!

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary ARC of this book.

DNF 66%

This book was 95% dialogue.
What does the FMC's apartment look like? We'll never know. What does the surrounding city look like? Who knows. What are some of the nervous ticks she has? That's not part of speaking, so we dont know.

There is SOOOO much telling in the story and not enough showing. Just one example: we're told that the MMC has bags under his eyes. And then we're also told that the bags are there because he isn't rested.

The MMC sexually assaults the FMC (twice) and thinks its okay because they are fated mates.

FMC is weak, very weak. She capitulates to everything the MMC says or does. She refuses to stand up to him and hold her ground.

FMC's "best friends" are terrible human beings.

The writing was borderline sophomoric and reads like a 9th graders creative writing project and not a published work.

The typeset also extends the books page count. The type is bigger than normal, the space between each sentence is extended, PLUS the double space between each paragraph all enables the author to get more pages read, which means more money from Amazon. If the author had more confidence in her craft, she wouldn't have to resort to tactics like that in order to make a living.

Book is listed at 552 pages, but due to the book stuffing techniques the author chose to use, the book should really be around 400 pages.
