The Alpha's Lunar Crown

Rate this book
When my mate dumps me in front of two entire packs, it can’t get worse—until I realized I was pregnant.
Seadon

Our engagement was meant to unite two werewolf packs.
Then one accusation turned me into public enemy number one.
I thought my mate would stand by me—instead, he ended our bond in front of everyone and left me to bear the blame alone.

With no other choice, I fled to the human world, raising the little one whose fuzzy ears pop out at the worst times. I thought I’d finally outrun the wolf-pack drama—until danger found me again.

And guess who shows up like a hero? The same alpha who walked away.
He swears he’ll clear my name and protect me, but there’s something he doesn’t know.
There’s a tiny pair of eyes watching him from behind the door—our son.

Alex
When betrayal came knocking, I sacrificed our future to keep her safe, never realizing it would haunt me forever.
Now I’m back to fix what I broke and restore her standing in the pack, determined to win back her trust.

But as I fight to clear her name, I found a secret that may change everything—a child who’s the spitting image of me.

I don’t think this book passed the eyes of a single editor. It’s as if the author wrote it, then forgot to send it to an editor, beta readers, ARC readers, or anyone with eyes, and also didn’t read the whole thing herself after finishing.
Actually, I’m not sure if she read a single page after writing it.
The sentences switched between past and present tense, sometimes within the same sentence. The spelling errors were atrocious, and not on difficult words. Consistently the use of “their” “they’re” and “there” was incorrectly placed. Quotation marks were either missing, placed randomly, or placed completely incorrectly.
Names were mixed up, plots were mixed up, the time line was a jumble of nonsense. Things were said and then contradicted. Some facts of the story didn’t make sense or were then changed later.

Now, on to the actual story:
It *could* have been good. It had the potential to be good. But, instead, it fell into a frustrating roundabout of the same argument that never got further than Aurora being stubborn and refusing to listen, and Lucien being too self absorbed to understand the depth of the pain he caused. Both of the characters were so incredible selfish, they couldn’t see what the other needed, wanted, or who they were. Aurora was so twisted up in her anger and self-pity that she failed to take into account what her own child needed. She refused to see that what SHE wanted and needed wasn’t what a child would need. She put him in danger because she was too stubborn to admit that she wasn’t the end-all be-all of care for him. She was so blinded by her rage that she didn’t see the clear manipulation of the “perfect” man showing up constantly when she was in trouble or vulnerable.
If she had taken one second to look at things logically she would have started asking questions, or been able to see the situation for what it was.
Not only that, but this woman was supposedly intelligent and a top brain in the finance industry, but couldn’t figure out how something was not a coincidence and did not know how to communicate with anyone. She didn’t have any friends. She didn’t speak regularly to her “best” friend. She isolated herself and pitied herself for her past.

Furthermore, the male character, Lucien? Self-absorbed douche-bag even after he started realizing he made a mistake.
Claiming he looked for her every day after she left? Lie.
He literally ran into her in the city, which is about 2 hours away from what I understand is Sedona, where his pack is. And somehow he drove there and had business in the same area all those years but never noticed her? He was the alpha of a wolf pack yet not a single one of his people could pick up her scent in the city? Did he not have body guards? He obviously wasn’t very good at looking for people when she literally left the pack alone and without anything. No money, no clothes, no identification. She left with NOTHING and this man, with a world of resources at his fingertips, was unable to find her? Give me a break. He was arrogant, dominating in the worst way, and completely unreasonable.

Even when he found her again, despite the fact that she was refusing to let him even get a word in edgewise, he continued to be insufferable. His inner monologue highlighted how he really was a blind idiot.
And Aurora? Crying about “where was he when I was pregnant and alone?” He was exactly where you left him. SHE decided not to tell Lucien. She decided not to involve him after she left. She can’t blame him if for doing the pregnancy and motherhood alone when she didn’t give him a single indication that she was carrying his child.

THEN!!!!!! This DUMB ASS MAN sees her child. The child who looks EXACTLY LIKE HIM. HIS LITTLE MINIATURE. HIS TINY CARBON COPY and is too stupid and/or blind to put together that it is his own child. He asks Aurora if the child is his and this dumbass tells him no and he believes her?????? Has he never looked in a mirror?

Then, during and after the conflict, there is absolutely ZERO communication or groveling or apologizing or any sort of relationship development between the two. They just carry on and love each other as though there isn’t a mountain of dirty laundry rotting under their rug. They didn’t resolve a single point of strife between them or a single problem that they had in their relationship prior to the split. They didn’t decide how they would fix the prior issues. They just dove right in like they were a happy family with zero issues.

Yay!

Fuck off. This was hard to read. I just kept hoping it would get better.

⭐️ 3.5 | 🌶️ 3

This is book 3 of a series but can be read as a standalone. This was a quick read and seemed more like a novella to me.

I disliked the male main character, Lucian. He found his fated mate, but he decided to mate with someone else “for the sake of the pack”. He chose not to go after his mate, Aurora, and when she doesn’t return, he spends years searching for her. I do love how he never forgot or got over Aurora.

I enjoy Jaymin Snow’s story telling! I also liked Selene. Usually their chosen mates are evil and she was entirely the opposite.

The cameos of the other FMCs from her previous books put a smile on my face.

Full of typos and grammatical mistakes

I have to say I’m very disappointed. The amount of mistakes this book has, I lost count. The story was clumsy and rushed, dialogues badly composed and wrong words used in many places. Grammatically, it switches between past tense and present tense for no reason whatsoever.
Unlikely I’ll read another book from Jaymin Snow, I don’t remember her other books being this bad but she should have proofread the book before releasing it.

The blurb did not match the story

This book was ok. I was a bit confused at the beginning because the blurb did not match. I thought I was reading a completely different story. I did end up reading the entirety of the book but it really needs some editing. It drove me crazy that even the simplest of errors were not fixed like the placement of quotation marks. It also bothered me that Aurora didn’t bring up the wife at all when Lucian came back into her life and not once did he mention anything about separating from her. This book would have been much better with a good editor.

I wanted to like this book…

I wanted to like this book… I’m a major reader, for over 30 years I’ve read, on average, 1 book every 2 to 3 says.

This book didn’t flow well and there were so many errors in grammar and in the story line… if this was proofread, that person needs to be fired.

I read to the end… but truly wanted to stop 1 chapter in.

Jaymin Snow Delivers Another Standalone Gem with Interconnected Threads
Jaymin Snow has done it again! This author continues to captivate readers with compelling stories, and her latest offering is no exception. What's particularly satisfying is the way she crafts standalone books that still manage to weave interconnected narratives throughout a larger series. It creates a rich and rewarding reading experience, keeping you invested in the overall world without feeling obligated to read everything in order.

This new book dives deep into the devastating power of words. It's a stark reminder that even comments made in what we believe to be the privacy of our own thoughts can have earth-shattering consequences. The central conflict revolves around a character grappling with the fallout of overheard words, words that cut to the core and threaten to unravel everything.

The story poses a powerful question: even when destined mates are involved, is it possible to recover from hearing you mean nothing to the one you're supposed to be bound to? Snow explores the complex emotions of betrayal, hurt, and the struggle to reconcile fate with personal pain. The internal conflict is palpable and keeps you turning pages, desperate to know if love can truly conquer all.

Beyond the central romance, the plot thickens with external threats. Despite the vast distance separating the characters, the king's enemies are relentless in their pursuit, viewing the female protagonist as a pawn to be used against him. This adds a layer of suspense and urgency to the story. She's already lost him in one devastating way, and now her very life is in danger because of her connection to him. The stakes are high, and the reader is kept on the edge of their seat.

This book is a true page-turner. I found myself completely engrossed, reading well past my usual bedtime. The compelling narrative and emotional depth made it impossible to put down, even if it meant a slightly rougher morning the next day! Jaymin Snow has a knack for drawing you into her world and making you feel the characters' joys and struggles as if they were your own.

In conclusion, this latest offering from Jaymin Snow is a must-read. It's a testament to her storytelling prowess and her ability to craft complex characters and engaging plots. Jaymin, consider me ready and waiting for the next incredible journey you plan to take us on!

Holy 💩 stain! This H was F’ing awful and I wanted to break his face. If you’re looking for a rage read, this one is for you. (Possible spoilers ahead). I rated it 2 stars ONLY for the rage

H was absolutely awful and I’m not sure he ever redeemed himself.

So basically H was fated mates with h and he was a soon-to-be alpha. He kept h as his dirty little secret for 3 years . h was so naive and believed all his “let’s not tell anybody yet but one day you’ll be Luna” 🙃🚩🚩

H’s dad tells him he has to marry Selena. H doesn’t put up much fight.
h overhears H say some nasty things about her.
He later confronts her and has the audacity to say he will marry Selena, but she can remain his mistress 😡 wut????? (I highlighted a bunch of quotes because I was just shocked at the bull he was spewing)

She disappeared and it took him 7 days to even check her house. His POV even made me madder.

So 5 years pass, and she now has a kid and she’s made a life for herself. H shows up for some business event. Dude literally thinks he’s gonna pick up where the romance left off and “how dare she hide for 5 years”

HE IS MARRIED to Selena. Yes, their relationship is just a business arrangement, but still 😬.
At one point, H and h have smex so technically he did cheat

So h has this semi friendship with some guy named Damon. Damon always seems to be around (red flag???)

H sees the little kid and wonders if it’s his kid even though the kid looks just like him. (I wanted to bang my head against the wall) That’s how dumb and clueless he was. He doesn’t find out it’s his kid until at least 75% in.

There is grovel. She does resist for a bit, has smex with him, then resists him again. It’s an endless back and forth.

A few things that I did like about this book:
Selena(OW) actually turns out to be a decent person.

When H basically rejects h- he also lost his wolf. YES! There needs to be more consequences for men who reject their mates in these books.

H and h were both celibate during their time apart

You ever read a book that hits you in that soft, squishy part of your heart and then slaps you right in the face with feels? Yeah, The Alpha’s Lunar Crown did that to me—and then some.

Let me tell you, I was immediately on Seadon’s side. Girl gets dumped publicly by her mate—in front of two packs, no less—because of an accusation he didn’t even have the guts to question? Nope. Rage engaged. And when she found out she was pregnant after all that? My chest actually ached. But did she crumble? Nah. Seadon takes her baby bump and her bruised heart and builds a life far away from the pack that turned its back on her. I loved her quiet strength. Her sass is subtle, but her mama bear energy? Fierce.

Now let’s talk about Alex. Alpha, protector, ex-mate, and certified “you messed up real bad” club member. I wanted to hate him. I really did. But then he comes back all determined and regretful and hot—ugh. I am weak for an alpha with a redemption arc. Add in the fact that he has no idea there's a mini him running around with fuzzy ears and attitude? Chef’s kiss. Watching him realize he has a son, and seeing that shift in him—it melted me a little. Okay, a lot.

The way Jaymin Snow writes those moments of tension—between trust and betrayal, between what’s right and what’s real—kept me turning pages like I had caffeine running through my veins. And the whole “she’ll protect their son with her life but still doesn’t know if she can give her heart back” vibe? Yeah, I felt that.

This isn’t just a second-chance romance. It’s a second-chance reckoning. And it delivers—heart, heat, hurt, and healing, all wrapped up in one hell of a ride.

Second chances for fated mates

A wonderful slow-build shifter romance, with wolves, witches, drama, action, secrets, betrayals, kidnapping, friendship, second chances, love and a HEA.

Aurora is only half wolf and the fated mate of Lucien, an Alpha in waiting. But his father wants him to have a pure wolf for his Luna, arranging a marriage with his Beta's daughter. Though Lucien wants Aurora to stay in the pack, she refuses to be his mistress and leaves.

Five years later she's put the pack life behind her and built an empire, but while on a date she runs into Lucien again, and he's not happy to see she's with another. When he tries to work with her she's initially against it, but when a rival pack starts causing problems Aurora and her son find themselves caught in the middle. Aurora finds it hard to trust Lucien, but he might be the only one who can help save her son when he's kidnapped; but how will he feel when he discovers that Ronan is also his son?

The reason why I love the rejected mate-secret baby trope is because it's so soapy. It's all angsty drama and tension. My latest read was The Alpha’s Lunar Crown by Jaymin Snow. This book had all the above in spades.

At first, it seemed like Aurora was a pushover. Excusing Lucien's behavior and making major decisions based on things he wanted. Then there was a final straw, something she just couldn't ignore. I felt bad about what happened, but I'm glad she used it as a wake-up call. Aurora became a boss; she showed her intelligence and her confidence was stronger than ever. I'm also happy she stuck to her guns when it came to forgiving Lucien. Sometimes in this trope, the guy is good and just made poor decisions, but I didn’t get that from Lucien. There was enough at the beginning for me to realize that Lucien was just not a good guy. I didn't like him, and when it was time for his aha moment, I think he still didn't get it. No amount of groveling could get me to change my mind about him.

As for the story, things go as expected. It's not that bad; it's all about how we get there. I knew there was going to be a conflict, and a few people looked like they could be an issue for several reasons. I had a few theories. There were some snafus, but the twists were good, and I enjoyed how everything played out. Lucien is still not my favorite person, but at least Aurora got her HEA. The Alpha’s Lunar Crown was a good read.

Let me start this review off by saying that the blurb does not match the book. I went into this thinking that I was reading about a mate that have been falsely accused and rejected in front of two packs and none of that happened in this book. But I still continue to read it. Even though it was a completely different story it was okay if you can get past all the grammar errors the spelling errors to punctuation errors. And the fact that it's basically an irredeemable alpha. I started it thinking Aurora had a backbone which she clearly does not. And the fact that there was cheating between Lucian Aurora and even Selene. I can't get behind a book that to me has been rejected but then when the alpha shows up she chooses to be with him knowing that he is made it to somebody else. It gives me the ick.

I like this series but this was a difficult book to read. Mainly because I strongly dislike the male lead - Lucien. He had no redeeming qualities and seemed to use the excuse that he was young to explain his past behavior, repeatedly, and never really explained his actions. The character did nothing throughout the story to improve my opinion of that character. There were also lots of inconsistencies throughout the story - several times I had to flip back and reread passages to see if I missed something that was implied later on in the story - I hadn’t.

4.5 stars. ⭐️ It couldn’t quite get to 5. Some of the banter was off as were a couple of things that went to mach 9 really fast.
I thought his beta would have had more invested. 🤷‍♀️
I also didn’t think that inserting queen Alice was even needed. It seemed kinda awkward. She wasn’t that powerful Queen that dove in full force like for Kat 😳

I didn’t see what was coming until 3/4’s in and it happened. Then it kinda bonked my head.
It was an easy read and I may have spaced a bit. 🤦‍♀️ Should have seen it.

I really really wasn’t ready for the alpha death and actually gasped out loud. 🫣💔😭
All in all I enjoyed all 3 books ❤️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Lucien is waiting to take his father's place as head of the wolf pack, but he has a secret that can't get out or it could ruin it all her name is Aurora his fated mate unfortunately that's not how things work out. Jaymin writes the best shifter stories that grabs your immediate attention and holds it captive all through out her book there's struggles, passion, battles to stay ahead and hea that twist your heart.

Regrets Bloom

Aurora leaves her pack after her fated mate blatantly rejects her.Five years later, she is reunited with Lucien, but the danger to the pavk had worsened. The chemistry between these two was intense, and fighting the fragments of their bond was intriguing. It was an entertaining story with action-packed moments to entice any reader.

Just a heads-up...The formatting and errors are atrocious in this one. The story was fair until about three-forths through the book, and then it got good. It had a very strong finish, which is awesome, because Ms. Snow pulled the threads of her story together and gave us what we expect in a shifter tale. The first two books were great from beginning to end, so I was a bit disappointed until I got to the turning point in her story.

2.5☆

The summary definitely does not match this book at all. Even the main characters names don't match. So essentially going in I was like what.... Then I'm like is this even written by Jaymin Snow? Plus it sound almost exactly like a rejected shifter book I've read instead with the same story from what I remember. So I don't know. But either way Lucian was whishy washy and Aurora seemed not weak but naive with a bit of common sense. Selene came out ok though. Liked her.

Not Her Best

The plot seemed interesting but the way it was written did not fully deliver. First the formatting and editing. It needed major improvement on that.

The story had inconsistencies and it was hard for me to like the hero in this book. It was like he just went with the flow. He did not make anything pivotal happen with regard to mending his relationship with the heroine.

I liked "The Alphabet Luna Crown" by Jaheim Snow, but it was not as good as the previous books in the series. The story started off strong, then dragged and was confusing to follow towards the middle, but clearer towards the end. This story probably would have been stronger as a novela.

My copy was extremely poorly edited, but it was a fairly interesting story with a MMC who was hard to like and a FMC who had a lot of gumption. If you are willing to risk poor editing, it can be read in a day. 3 1/2*.

The final book in the Eternal Oath Saga didn’t quite meet my expectations. While the earlier parts of the series had an engaging setup, this conclusion felt a little rushed and could have used more depth. The pacing was uneven, and some parts came across less polished compared to the start of the series.

That being said, the core idea was good, and with more time given to character growth and plot development, this could have been a much stronger ending. It still had moments that showed promise, but overall it left me wishing for a more complete wrap-up to the story.

Love It!

Read it in one day!
The only issue I had throughout the whole book, was the wrong placement of the closing "quotation mark. That spacing before the mark, with no spacing before the next letter, really confused me. The same goes for the dialogue on the same line between the characters. I had to reread the sentence to know where the quote ended, and who was talking next.

Poorly edited

Solid story, but one of the most poorly edited books I have ever read. Surprising, since it is the third in the series. Misspelled words, wrong words, missing words, incorrect punctuation, missing spaces, incorrect names…you name it, this book had it. This is probably my fifth or sixth book from this author, so I am not sure what was going on.

Good story

The story was well written but very predictable if you had read any of her other books. The proofing needs some work as there were several characters switched and words ran together.
