Whispered Echoes

Silent Wounds

I was looking for safety. Instead, I found a man who could ruin me.

Stranded in the middle of a storm, alone, freezing, and completely out of options, I never expected salvation to come in the form of him… the brooding, scarred soldier who looks at me like he wants to devour me whole.

I know who Gage Callahan is.

I grew up hearing my father’s stories about him. He’s the ruthless, battle-hardened man who saved his life more times than he could count. My dad called him a brother. His most trusted friend.

But the way Gage looks at me now? There’s nothing brotherly about it.

He doesn’t want me here. That much is obvious. But when he finds out I have nowhere else to go, something shifts behind those dark, haunted eyes and he offers me shelter in his secluded mountain cabin.

I should be scared of him.

He’s bigger than me, stronger than me, and he makes it very clear that I have no idea what kind of man he is. But when he stares at me like I’m something he’s barely restraining himself from claiming, I don’t feel afraid.

I feel wanted.

He tells me I’m too innocent for a man like him. That once he takes a taste, he won’t stop. But the longer we’re trapped together, the harder it is for him to resist.

And when he finally snaps?

I know one thing for sure, Gage Callahan isn’t just going to ruin me…

He’s going to own me.

Mountains keep their secrets, but can love heal their scars?

The untamed beauty of the mountains is no match for these scarred men. Fate brings women who hold the power to mend their wounds, but first, they must navigate the rugged terrain of their pasts. As they confront their scars, they discover that true healing can only come from one thing… love.

Each story in ‘Whispered Echoes’ delves into the lives of our wounded heroes and the courageous women who dare to love them.

This possessive, dad’s best friend, grumpy sunshine mountain man romance is a quick read — easily read in one night.

I was pleasantly surprised by this romance. It wasn’t cheesy or too quick paced, it was the perfect amount of smut and relationship building.

“You don’t beg, sunshine. Not for anyone.”

There’s just something about a possessive mountain man who wants to protect you and look after you for ever.

“I could take her right here. Make her forget she ever belongs anywhere but right here.”

Tropes: “you’re mine”, “fk it”, grumpy sunshine, snowed in

Fantastic read!

Such a great book with a lot of steam! Gave and Eden are perfect for each other and the way they heal each other is so beautiful. Definitely a great read and one I highly recommend.

Very quick read. Also a rare 4 star for me. In short novella’s like this it is hard to feel the connection with the two main characters, however with them knowing each other through her dad it gave the read a sense of knowing them. It was insta love but with a twist of Gage knowing her when she was a teen, then meeting years later.

** Spoiler** there was a hint of a 3rd act break up but that lasted all of 5 minutes. While I hate the break ups even 5 minutes, this one I understood and how she was battling a life she knew and would be giving up. That is also what set this book apart for me. Normally the female character just jumps in head first with a mountain man with no regards for her life, but this one had some reservations about it. Very well written and a little sad it was only 104 pages.

🥵🫣🤭

Few * waves hand line fan at face* that was a spicey one. A very good heart felt apicey one though.
The dad best friend connection wasn't weird or cringy, which was nice. He seems like he was definitely younger than her father. They just serve it together for anybody who might be like I don't know.
Good storyline, good, she saves him. He kind of freeze her feel to it. Super good, spice, quick and easy little hundred pahe read. loved it.Super good going to read the rest of the series.

Wounded Mountain Man series book 1

Eden got stuck in a snow storm but went to a cabin owned by Gage.
Gage is Eden's fathers best friend and they lost him in the war. They both miss him terribly. So does it seem possible that the snow storm and meeting up was meant to be?
The characters were awesome, especially Eden really trying to figure out her future with a reclusive man. They helped each other.

Confusion

Why is raining one second and the dead of winter the next? He's wearing sweats on the couch, then jeans with a belt in bed the next moment? What is happening?
