Engineered to Order: A Practitioner's Guide

Rate this book
This is a practical guide for leaders of engineered to order companies that focus on capital equipment. It is targeted specifically at smaller companies (less than $100 Million in Revenue) however there are very useful tools and techniques for larger companies too. It covers many aspects of running an engineered to order company including, working capital, inventory management, master scheduling, lead time reduction, make or buy, supply chain management, capital spending and other areas. It is a concise book (67 pages) but contains much useful information that will allow anyone to make significant improvements to their engineered to order business. I have 33 years of experience in manufacturing and most of it with engineered to order businesses, starting as a manufacturing engineer through CEO positions. I have been consulting the past 5 years mostly in engineered to order businesses and I see the same issues in almost all of my clients. The book is not heavy on theory and contains many real life examples of how problems have been solved in engineered to order companies. There is also an appendix at the end of the book that contains useful resources to help in solving particular problems, I enjoyed writing it and I hope you get some significant benefit out of reading it. I have included my e-mail address in the book should you ever have any questions.
