Reminds me of tunnel vision.
Warning
My review contains a huge amount of gifs and I'm not sorry at all. Also, I won't apologize for being very straightforward.
What in the ever lovin' fuck? Well, another one bites the dust. To be very honest, one star is simply too generous. If I could I would have rated it with 0 stars. When I was 15 % done I thought I had seen the worst of it but I couldn't have been more wrong. It got way, way worse and with great difficulty I made it up to 45 % and called it quits. I think the author tried very hard to be 'original' but failed miserably all along the line. It came off as cheesy, embarrassing, and downright ridiculous. Wrapped in Shadows was beyond awful and one of the worst books I've ever read. I love beautiful writing but this pathetic excuse of stilted and clumsy cardboard writing didn't cut it for me at all. The sex…OMG, the second sex scene was a friggin' nightmare. Also, I wouldn't for the life of me identify myself with the silly heroine. Jesus Christ on a crutch, Katie should make herself scarce. I guess I'm seriously missing out since I don't have any idiotic conversations with my happy vagina. Yeah, when it's not the friggin' inner goddess it's the vagina. Although she should really stop her entire irritating inner monologue. It got on. My. Very. Last. Nerve.
I won't write a long review because, honestly, what's there to say? The gifs and quotes are self-explanatory.
As a side note
The vagina conversations are actually penned in italic and small letters but I had to write the words in capitals to emphasize them in my gifs.
Before I could formulate a thought, my heart started pounding hard, as if already knowing the evolution of thoughts in my brain. It was the sight of the pink smudge on the cuff that fueled the motor in my chest.
I let myself digest the new information and cautiously allowed hope to crawl from the cave it was buried in. It opened its eyes, looked around, and liked what it saw.
An idea sprouted and I tapped a finger against my lips as it ripened to full bloom. (FYI, that's the hero pondering).
The tension between our bodies grew thick and curdled with need, and I knew he was feeling it too. Breathy puffs slid through my lips, marking the desire that was a constant undercurrent between them. A choked sound gurgled from my throat, a sound of anguish infused with desire.
The heroine mentioned numerous times how gorgeous the hero is.
Oh, God… I stared back, realizing my desire for him hadn't diminished at all in the week since he'd come to my office. If anything, my acknowledgment and ownership of it only fueled my need until it burned like a blistering fever. He was so deliciously tempting. Tall. Gorgeous. Solidly male. And I wanted him. A pulse already beat steadily in my groin, throbbing in response to his presence.
Just one more time…
No one had to know…
Just get him out of your system…
Mine! Mine! Mine! You stay out of this! I scolded my vagina.
Then he smiled and his dimpled (dimples?) winked at me, again inciting a slew of internal havoc. My heart rate soared. I tried hard not to think, not to listen to the voice screaming like a mad woman in my head. Damn his mumbo jumbo! My inner self was in serious need of a straight jacket and a padded room.
Yeah, I think I'm in need of a straight jacket too because I feel a strange urge to strangle the heroine.
And oh, God, I remembered that talented tongue! I was instantly leaking, feeling my underwear growing damp from the naughty thoughts swirling in my head.
My eyes widened just as his lips teetered with a crooked smile. Shit! Could he read minds too?
Teetering on the edge of insanity…maybe? Or teetering towards disillusionment.
Who wants to call the analogy police?
What the heck does that even mean? Muscles can't picket. Maybe the muscles protested? Use your imagination…muscles protesting holding picket signs! Hilarious.
Hmm…I feel a sudden urge to dust my furniture.
Someone should explain me what bicep curls are. I didn't know that biceps could curl.
And last but not least a shout out to my friend Lenore. She helped me to stay sane and healthy while reading this book. Thanks again for making this a very special reading experience! xoxox

It seems like Lisa Eugene has herself a winning formula with her books. She takes a super quirky heroine, some verra sexy steam, throws in some intriguing suspense and mystery and VOILA! You have yourself a book that you'll enjoy from beginning to end.
One night of shadows. One night of bliss. One night it all fell apart.
Katherine is a woman that seemingly has it all. The heiress to the Vandercamp fortune, she has the social standing, the wealth, the doting fiance, and loving parents. Well...2 out of 4 ain't bad. Since she just found her fiance half naked in their apartment with his ex and her mother is pretty much a cold bitch.
After running out after finding her fiance with his ex that was wearing his shirt...and only his shirt, she's heartbroken. She needs to take her mind off of it. Off her her pain. Off of her mostly unfulfilled desires. So what's the best way of doing this? Convincing her best friend into getting her into one of the most exclusive sex clubs in town, of course.
In the safety of dark shadows and extremely talented but mysterious male hands, Katherine finds the kind of passion she's never even dreamed about.
Did I happen to mention Katherine's adorably quirky habit of talking to her vagina?
I don't think anyone but Lisa Eugene could pull something like this off. In Steal My Heart she gave us an adorable germaphobe nurse. In Wrapped in Shadows we get Katherine's vagina conversations. I have to admit that I found myself giggling like an idiot whenever I'd read her internal monologue. It was cute and funny.

I will not tell you the name of the hero, and I don't recommend reading many reviews before diving into this book. Half the fun is the mystery of who it is and finding out. But here I go, digressing again.
The rules of the evening were simple; anonymity. Total and complete. After all, if anyone were to find that the socialite running one of the most successful charities went to a sex club, her reputation would be ruined. It was only supposed to be dark, shadows, and intense orgasms...until murder was thrown into the mix.
The one thing that I really liked about this book was the unpredictability of it. You're lead to believe one thing, be so sure of it, only to be thrown for a loop. Lisa Eugene leads you up to the most obvious conclusion thinking you know what's going on and who's behind it, only to rip the rug out right from under you. I loved that added element of the suspense and mystery.
Did I also mention the absolutely delicious mystery hero?
But I'm still not giving you his name.
But I will tell you that he has some moves.
But I digress yet again. This was an entertaining read, though at times Katherine did some things that seriously had me shaking my head and then wanting to shake some sense into her.
As far as steam goes? You'll get that and then some.
So why not 5 stars? I felt that there was something at the end with the revelation of the bad guy that was a little glossed over. I really thought that the motivation behind the actions of someone involved was pretty detrimental to explain, yet it was brushed aside. Considering WHO that person was, I really needed the explanation or their motivation behind their action. It almost seemed to rush through the ending after that big revelation climax.
But that aside and a few times where I wanted to slap Katherine, this was a solid 4 star read that I'd gladly recommend for any readers that like their suspense with a whole lot of steam.

Wrapped in Shadows begins with heat!!! Yeah, everything starts at Sensations --- that one wild night becomes everything!
Katie break with her cheating boyfriend and wants to forget everything, takes that one night a chance.

4.5 Sizzling Murder Mystery Stars!!
I must say I really loved how this book has it all!! Sizzling, soak your panties, hot sex and a murder mystery. I could not figure out who did it!! I kept changing my mind. I'm not doing a full review because I'm just plain ass lazy. Read someone else's because there are some great ones out there.
One thing I will say is you won't be disappointed reading this......like I said, it has freaking great sex in it. Just check out my updates for how schmexy it is.

**FULL REVIEW**
“The darkness folded around us, cocooning us in silky silence. As I listened to his soft breaths shuttling in and out and felt his fingers trace slow intricate circles on my abdomen, I let my mind languish in this temporary heaven, feeling strangely…found.”
After finding her fiancé with another woman, Katherine runs to her best friend for some advice…and on a whim decides a little anonymous sex at a club Michelle frequents with her boyfriend is the perfect way to get over Josh. She never in million years thought things would go down the way they did…
“There was no way in hell that night could have been as spectacular as I remembered it. And it wasn’t as though I had images to sore through. Everything had occurred in a black void. All I had were layers and layers of emotion I was afraid to peel away and analyze. No. I couldn’t allow myself the luxury of recalling those exquisite feelings, of thinking they were genuine. My mind mush have fabricated the peace and total gratification.”
And all she had to go on was his scent…everything else was wrapped in shadows.
Not sure how to handle the emotions that follow an explosive evening with handsome stranger, Kay deals with the fallout of her engagement, the disappointment of her family, people dying…
You know a story is good when you can sit down and read it all at once. That is what I did today, so you can only imagine how awesome this book is. I was completely engrossed from page one and every time I turned the page, there was a new surprise for me to try and figure out.
Told from dual POV, you learn who HE is, and who HE isn’t, as well as the main plot of the entire story…murder.
“With the recent chaos in my life, I had trouble looking into our future, but couldn’t deny my strong feelings for her. I was definitely not an optimist when it came to relationships, and with my past, I definitely had a hard time trusting women, but I was willing to believe again, to give love a shot.”
Wrapped in Shadows is one of those almost twisted love stories; the elements I look for in any work of fiction this book has in spades. There is action, chemistry, suspense, some serious steam, and best of all, originality. Of course, the added bonus is that it is well written. I look forward to reading more of Lisa Eugene’s work.

I love Lisa Eugene 's work and every book gets better and better!!
Katherine Regina Vandercamp walks in on her sleazy fiancé going to town on somebody that is NOT Katie. So, like any situation like this, her best friend takes her to a sex club to let go and have a good time. At the club, Katie finds herself having the best night of her life sans the drama of her life! And all she remembers about her beautiful lover is that he tasted like sandalwood, so when she meets with her best friends' three bosses, it's difficult for her to figure out who her mystery man is without giving too much away.
I am only giving so much away because I was surprised to find out who it was and so should you when you read it! Katie is caught between being with her mystery guy and people finding out she was at a sex club. As one of New York's socialites, this could ruin the charity company she runs and holds very close to her heart. But when her mystery man is accused of murder, it's time she figures out who she is and stops running from who she wants to be.
Overall, I was BLOWN AWAY by this beautiful 5 STARS out of 5 STARS read! Katie and her mystery man are the perfect happily ever after couple. He deserved his HEA almost more than she did. So, like any situation like this, her best friend takes her to a sex club to let go and have a good time. At the club, Katie finds herself having the best night of her life sans the drama of her life! And all she remembers about her beautiful lover is that he tasted like sandalwood, so when she meets with her best friends' three bosses, it's difficult for her to figure out who her mystery man is without giving too much away.

I am only giving so much away because I was surprised to find out who it was and so should you when you read it! Katie is caught between being with her mystery guy and people finding out she was at a sex club. As one of New York's socialites, this could ruin the charity company she runs and holds very close to her heart. But when her mystery man is accused of murder, it's time she figures out who she is and stops running from who she wants to be.

Overall, I was BLOWN AWAY by this beautiful 5 STARS out of 5 STARS read! Katie and her mystery man are the perfect happily ever after couple. He deserved his HEA almost more than she did. This book is AMAZING!! Lisa Eugene at her best! This is a love triangle that will keep you on the edge of your seat(or in my case up all night) with tons of relationship angst! Katie Vandercamp is an intelligent likeable heroine with a great big heart of gold. I can't say much about hero except I F**KING LOVED him. I don't want to give away any spoilers because we don't find out who he is until the second chapter or so. But I was biting my freaking nails trying to figure out who he was!!! This book was well written, had a plot that kept me enthralled throughout the entire story, and when it was done, I was sad it was over. What a ride!! Thank you Ms. Eugene for this exquisite adventure. Highly recommend.

This book was an excellent example of Lisa Eugene's style of writing, Hot Romance with a mystery that keeps you hanging all the way to the end. The Characters are very relatable and you fall in love with them right from the start.

'Damn, all my girly parts were already tingling! And I knew it could only portend disaster" She knew with the subtle hint of sandalwood that Luke Davenport, his sandy blonde hair and bottle green eyes, that her life has become more 'Complicated'.
Luke had history that he could still remember 'numbing anguish that had poured over me like liquid nitrogen' His pain just about jumped off the page.
If I would give any criticism it would be that the story was too short. I wanted to witness the interaction between Luke & Katie's Parents. I would love to be able to enjoy this story a bit more.

While Wrapped in Shadows did start off slow for me and I disliked such long chapters, it turned out to be an amazing book. There was so much suspense my heart is still racing.
Who would have thought you could fall for someone you had sex with in the dark at a sex club? Never seeing their face but remembering their scent, voice, and body… After Katie finds out who he is, will she choose to be with the man in the darkness or her fiance, Josh, whom she accused of cheating?
Wrapped in Shadows was a big mystery trying to figure out who killed the women. I was on the edge of my seat and found myself trying to figure it out even when I wasn't reading the story. not a lot to say about this one - I loved it. It had a great story, great characters, hot sex and it had a beginning, a middle and an end. Quite unique nowadays.
Just finished reading Grayson and really enjoyed it so went off to look into Lisa Eugene only to find this gem of a story - and there are more.

I didn't hate this book, but I didn't love it either ... I couldn't connect with Kay, often I was thinking that she is too weak and is acting childish and her dialogues with vagina was ridiculous and, well, this trick is getting old(at least for me). Story was saved by Luke and his sweet daughter Livy;)

Just wow!
This book is written in the first person which automatically put's you on to a more personal feel for the characters and to their lives, you feel more connected to them and the troubles they face.
Lisa draws you in with her descriptive writing and real life problems, its like a slap in the face, a breath of fresh air, its real and thought evoking.
We get introduced to Katie and Josh first in an explosive argument "Get back here this instant! I won't let you leave me!"
So right away I'm thinking, "what the hell has happened here?"
Katie and Josh have been having problems for awhile and this is obviously the last straw for Katie, she has walked in on Josh with his ex girlfriend.
As Katie goes to walk out the door Josh grabs her wrist and squeezes tightly Katie screams at him "Let go! Let me out of here! It's fucking over!"
And I'm shouting right along with her here!
Josh angrily retorts "It'll never be over. We're going to be married. And once you calm the fuck down, you'll see how wrong you are".
Well Katie doesn't take that at all well, and why should she?!
Katie runs out the door and runs to her best friends,
As soon as Michelle opens her front door, Katie collapses into her friends arms.
As Katie explains the situation you can't help but feel her pain and you want to give her comfort, console her but you can also feel Michelle's displeasure and what Josh has done to her best friend.
Michelle was planning on going on out but tries to cancel her plans when Katie has other ideas!
She pesters and pesters Michelle to let her come, and she feels her friends resolve weaken until she gives in!
Michelle turns around and say's to Katie, "Why do you want to do this? To get back at Josh? He's not worth it!"
Katie seems to think about this, yes she was angry, yes she was hurt, but there was more to it.
"This isn't about Josh. I'm just curious."
Michelle walks over to her and flops on the couch, "This isn't your scene. You're the hopeless romantic, the knight in shining amour kind of girl. You want love and romance, not whips and chains and butt plugs!"
This part had me laughing out loud, we all have that one friend that we can count on, to make us laugh, and this is her!
"I can't be seen with you like that, lose the pearls. That fluffy sweater gotta go too."
Katie grinned at this and felt her nervousness disappear. "Maybe we can find something in you closet for me"
"I might have something that will be less dick-deflating"
I couldn't help it here, there were tears of laughter, dick-deflating, we all have clothes like this, yes?!
As the girls walk into sensations(sex club), Katie's curiosity was driving her mad, her gaze kept bouncing around on the whips, chains, floggers manacles and phallic like objects.
But her curiosity was soon to be assuaged when she walked into one of the rooms and a man stepped out.
He was dressed in black leather with stacks of muscle, the skin that was not hidden away was covered in a mosaic of colorful tattoos(mouth watering here).
Katie had a feeling he was not for newbies, he was someone to work up to, like spicy food or nipple clamps.
As Katie left the room she asked Michelle "Where are we going? What's your plan now?"
Michelle say's to her "Trust me", and left it at.
This part had me in suspense, what was she up to?
Katie gets led into the next room and left she starts to wonder if she should have undressed?
While she waits she thinks about some panty-wetting stories she had been told about the place and although I imagined they might have been somewhat embellished, I allowed my fantasy to take flight and soon a languid warmth was flowing between my thighs.

"Is that what's gotten you in such a mood?" My mother huffed, regrading me as though I was daft. Her voice rose in pitch, "Katie, men sleep around! That's what they do. You can't expect to ruin a years worth of hard work and planning because of it"!
Now I was angry here for Katie, I mean how dare a mother do that, aren't mothers meant to be on your side?! Katie is modern day whereas her mother seems to be stuck in the old fashioned era!

You get so drawn into the story that you completely lose yourself in the situation, you are right there with them.
Katie couldn't believe her mother could have such an antiquated view of women and marriage.
Katie leaves her parents house and heads back home where she meets up with Michelle and carries on with her life until she crashes into Josh.
We all thought she had moved on and forgotten about him but it seems Josh has other ideas.
Josh wants another chance, but Katie is not so sure, she's been bombed by flowers and she is still consumed by the mystery man she met, the smell of sandalwood still haunts her.
But the heart did not simply stop working because it was broken.
He pressurizes Katie to go to business party with him, she caves and goes with him but this is where it takes an interesting turn.
So off Katie goes to this party where she bumps into the guy who has been plaguing her dreams ever since that fateful night at sensations.

She looked around the dark street, she had no idea where she was, her phone was in her purse and she fumbled inside it to call a cab.
"You shouldn't be out in the darkness, beautiful".
Katie jerked around in surprise, her scream silenced in the tight grip of her throat. Now that she was away from the noise at the party and the pungent scents she could now make out the faint smell of sandalwood, instantly her body reacted to the scent, the scent that has teased her weeks, her insides liquefying.

Lisa's description of him makes it all so real, you can see the colour of his eyes, smell the deep, earthy smell of his aftershave, like you are right there in the book.
You see Katie was under the illusion that Luke worked at the club.
She glanced up at him through her lashes, still distracted, "I thought you were worked there".
"Oh no. Why would you think that?"
She inwardly thinks to herself "because your a fantastic lover...?"
Luke offers to take her and she accepts, giving him her address.
As she sat in the car she secretly studied his profile, she had so many fantasies about him, now he was flesh and bone, and very male., like meltmypanties@www.hotmale attractive.
His hair was dark and wavy compared to Katie's that platinum blonde, his lips were decadent, they full and beautifully curved and that tongue, oh that tongue! She had quite forgotten what he could do with that tongue!
The description literally has you melting, I can't stress or praise enough, that detail here is fantastic! You can see him in your mind, tall, dark, handsome, skillful, successful what more do you want?!
As he dropped her outside her front door he hooked his finger under her chin and tilted her gaze to meet his, her lips parted, her skin sizzling where he touched, he gaze dropped to his sensuous mouth. "Oh god, I really want him to kiss me. I wanted to feel the press of his lips and the silky glide of his tongue. I wanted to be wrapped naked in sandalwood!"
The realization slammed into me and bloomed a vivid recollection of his touch, the ecstasy of him driving into me.
He was such a gorgeous man and those deep green eyes seemed able to peer through me, to read my thoughts.
I mean, hello! Do men like this exist outside of our imagination? I had to stop here and take a breather, I want Luke!!
Katie is in a complicated place, torn between two men, one she hates and one she deeply cares for and can I dare say it? Love.
Does she follow her heart, and confide in Luke, the man she dreams about, the man she feels safe with safe or does she cave and goo back with Josh, who she is sacred of, who she doesn't' love but wants to keep an appearance.
You will practically shout, scream and rally here, telling her to follow her heart, stop listening to her head, stop trying to please everyone else.
As she tries to sort out her tumbling emotions she gets an unexpected but rather pleasant surprise at work, Luke turns up and she is stumped for words "Speak! Say something before you make a total ass of yourself. Anything..like..you're so fucking hot? No, not that!"
Her internal debate here has me in stitches, we have all had that moment when we come face to face with a crush, it make's its all so real.
Josh is still hassling her, she is terrified of him, he turns up everywhere she is, dare she tell Luke and ruin what they have or should she keep it to herself and let it fester.
We will know what she should do, but will take our advice?!
These two people have there ups and downs, they fight, they have passion, they have chemistry, more than just sex.
These feelings were insane, yet they were both ecstatic to be with each other.

Wrapped In Shadows is a sexy mystery read. Luke and Kay's relationship is teetering with her back and forth about her fiancée, the one who cheated on her. I loved the chemistry between Luke and Kay and it was super hot and sexy. The mystery of who is doing the killings keep you interested because we gotta know who did it. Is it this one, or that one? It keeps you on your toes. I found myself getting distracted while reading, sometimes it was hard to keep my concentration while reading. Good plot, great characters, but felt like so,etching was missing. I felt like Kay's inner thoughts was a touch like Ana's from Fifty Shades of Grey. And I was like 'uh, okay.' I give this book 4 STARS.

Beautifully done 5 STAR READ
Just WOW!! Katie Vandercamp is engaged to the man of her dreams and one night finds him with his ex-girlfriend, Carol. Josh swears that he wasn't cheating, but Katie doesn't believe him. They get into a terrible fight and Katie runs from his apartment. Katie has had enough! She says fuck you to her cheating, lying, SOB fiancé!!! Good for her!
Katie runs to her best friend who is on her way to a sex club. Michelle tries to talk her out of it, but Katie is pissed and determined to forget Josh. I found myself cracking up at times during these first scenes at the sex club. The fake name that Katie is registered by is priceless (simply genius) and her internal monologue was delightfully funny. Sensations is "A place where one gets drunk on pleasure"
I really enjoyed the scene when she first meets the man in the shadows. Her nervousness, her anticipation of what is to come is beautifully written and you feel like you are in the room with her. The man in the shadows is amazing and Katie has a beautiful night of bliss and testacy and finally feels a connection with someone and she finds something she's been searching for her entire life.
Ms. Eugene can write some scorching HAWT love scenes!!! Whew!! Love them! I love the way she describes her characters. I feel like I'm right there with them!! The imagery is FANTASTIC!!!
For Katie this is not just a night of passion, this is a night that starts a chain of events that will make her stronger and bring her life from in the shadows where she's been living. A murder takes place at the club.
Katie has no idea who her shadow man is and thinks she'll never see him again.
But, Ms. Eugene leads us on a chase where we're hanging on to the edge of our seats, biting our nails when we realize that he's someone she knows. The revelation is amazing! I'm glad it turned out to be the person it was. But of course our hero has demons of his own.
Enter Mr. Hot and Sexy! GORGEOUS! GREEN-EYED HERO! I fell in love with his protectiveness and charm. He's a total panty-melter!
I won't tell you his name because you deserve to read it yourself and find out who this wonderful hero is. Katie has decisions to make. She's torn between doing what everyone wants her to do, and following her heart. She's someone who is used to being under a lot of scrutiny. she runs her family's charity foundation. You can really feel the angst she's going through as she weights her decision.
It turns out her fiancé is a low down dirt rat!! But the mystery and true genius of this book is in how everything unfolds. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, Ms. Eugene would add another twist to this story that kept me guessing. I love it when books are unpredictable. I loved the delicious surprises I found in this story. It kept me turning the pages to see what would happen next.
The resolution of the mystery was perfect. Although all my questions were answered, I did want more details at the end. The loved the way our hero and heroine 's romance evolved. I think the ending was perfect for the romance. I LOVED reading this book. I loved the emotional roller coaster I was forced to ride on. I can't wait for Ms. Eugene's next book!

Katherine believes her fiancé is cheating on her. When she discovers him with his ex-flame she runs out on him and goes to a sex club where she has anonymous sex with a stranger. Little does she know how this stranger will change her life. When murder occurs Katherine has to decide how much keeping her trip to the club a secret will hurt others and herself.
I liked Katherine (Kay). She was blind most of the time to her fiancé's bad attitude and behavior. When she finally sees it for herself she develops a backbone and hardens her heart to him. YEAH!!!!! Josh (the fiancé) does not deserve Kay but he has played her like a rare violin that I had a hard time stomaching their scenes. He is trash! I liked her friend Michelle. She is outspoken most of the time but holds back on her feelings for Josh so as not to hurt Kay. Kay's parents are a piece of work. They are so wrapped up in themselves they would rather see their daughter unhappy just so they won't be embarrassed. Michelle's boss, Luke, is wonderful. He is attracted to Kay and full of jealousy when he learns of her on and off again engagement.
Ms. Eugene can write sex. The sex sizzles. The mystery is good. I was half right but I won't say which half. The development of the characters is well done. Each character is true to themselves (especially Josh and her parents.)
My only complaint is the editing. While the story is done in two people's first person points-of-view, it seems as if the story was originally done in third person point of view. Several times through the story I caught wrong pronouns being used. Instead of I, he or she was used. Occasionally the person's point of view changed to the other person telling the story in mid-paragraph or chapter with no defining change. But the story is intriguing enough to fix these errors in my mind.

This is the first thing I've read from Lisa Eugene and it was fantastic! I was pulled in right away and kept turning the pages until there weren't anymore.
The story follows Katherine, or Katie or Kay as her friends call her. After a shocking discovery, she goes to her friend Michelle for some comfort and advice. When she calms down a bit she notices that Michelle is about to go out for an evening of fun. Kay insists that she goes with her and experiences the best sex of her life. However, there are no names exchanged and all the lights are off so she couldn't see her mystery man. She falls asleep and is woken up by some ruckus going on in another part of the club.
As the story continues, Katie learns that her mystery man in none other than Michelle and her sleazy ex, Josh's, boss Luke. He is everything a girl could want, smart, sexy, successful and good in the sack. They have an instant connection and can't seem to stay away from each other. As their connection grows, trouble begins to surround the couple. Katie is getting pressure from her family to reunite with Josh and proceed with their wedding as planned. Luke becomes the leading suspect in not just one but two murders.
To save Luke, Kay has to come forward and admit to being at the sex club at the night in question. Once she does, the pieces of the puzzle start to fit together and they soon figure out who was after them. There is one last threat to the couple that they manage to thwart.
This book has all the things that I love, suspense, mystery, steam, intrigue and a happy ending. I look forward to reading more from this writer!

I'm Ms. Eugene's editor, so I don't get to write official reviews for her anymore. But I love her stuff, and even though this one doesn't attach to her other medically oriented 'series,' it's still good and I recommend it for anyone who likes a good suspenseful erotic romance. I particularly love her heroes, but she does great heroines too.

Slightly disappointing. And it's not even NA (new adult) or erotic enough.
I liked the potential of a "love story that started out in awrong awkward unusual way", but triumphed in the end. And it did. Of course. But the mystery part felt... under-utilized. Rushed, squeezed in just a few pages, if not paragraphs. Oh well.

Wrapped in Shadows is one of those almost twisted love stories; the elements I look for in any work of fiction this book has in spades. There is action, chemistry, suspense, some serious steam, and best of all, originality. Of course, the added bonus is that it is well written. I look forward to reading more of Lisa Eugene’s work.

Fantastic book. It had such a great twist and Luke, *swoons*, what a sexy, honourable and devoted hero. The love scenes were smoking hot and I loved the easy banter between Luke & Kay. Highly recommended. Looking forward to reading Ms. Eugene's other books!
