Why Must You Read?
-A Thriller with Historical, Royal & Scientific Roots
-Time leaps that makes reading interesting and breaks the monotony

A mysterious explosion, a nuclear facility, a house that has disappeared and friends investigating the going-ons. Now if this isn't a fodder for a bestseller, I don't know what is! The Sanctum Key by Sudharsana is a thrilling experience with a three pronged leap in time. With references and active participation of eminent historical personalities, the author grounds her story deep into the reality. This tether that provides a historical, royal as well as scientific connection to the story is a masterstroke by the author. Having real people as refrence points in a thriller is something that will root it into a recognisable corner in reader's mind, thereby giving it an authenticity that is hard to beat.

So what is it about? Sanjay and Ayush are goofing around in a small township of Naliya in Gujarat, chasing girls and doing what boys do what their town is jolted with an uncanny explosion that leads to people going unconscious. As they move around, they discover that an entire house has disappeared. Meanwhile, strangers have descended upon the town, harbouring secret agendas. As the story moves, it also jumps and shows us two very intresting characters that are part of the story: the first is the legendary scientist Satyendra nath Bose (check out for a line in the story where a character asks why he didn't get a Nobel) and the second is none other than the great king Ashoka himself. But how has author inducted them both and even made a reference to Oppenheimer in a letter? Well I am not going to tell you everything here. Get the book to find out more.

The author hasn't hurried the story, choosing to set it at a reasonable pace. I like how she lets life seep out from the story, drenching the reader slowly with hner words and introducing the nuances of the characters in her own time. She skillfully sets the characters up, pushing them into twists and turns slowly but surely. I also like how she has created dread through dialogues. Have a look:
'"Ayush..." Sanjay looked at him with concern."Do you know what were dealing with? There's a real possibility that we can't find Shreya and her father. You understand that, right?" He pointed to the chaotic display of papers and digital screens in front of them."Look at this. It's like they never even existed!"'

Since the story keeps on leaping back and forth in time, we see different characters interacting with one another. This breaks the monotony and provides a refreshing cleanse to readers' palate.
The author exerts a tight control on the elements of the story, balancing pace with the emotions, walking a tight rope of keeping reader's interest in the story while helping the main characters evolve at a comfortable pace.

It's also a pleasure to read the story when the authors inculcate their own beliefs and philosophies into the writing without it hindering the narrative. Sudharsana has done that effortlessly.
Have a look:
"The Sage leaned back, a glimmer of defiance sparking in his eyes as a dry chuckle escaped his lips. "When has peace ever driven real change?" His tone carried a sharp, almost mocking edge as if the question was an indictment of naivety. He didn't wait for a response; his voice grew bolder, and the calm façade gave way to something fiercer. "Beliefs, religions, principles-they all spread through the fires of turmoil, not the whispers of calm."

I absolutely loved this multi-pronged experience. You will love it too. Pick it up this festive season.

This book is about a mysterious, suspenseful and absorbing saga. A fantastic blend of science, mythology and historical fiction. Reading this book was an immersive experience as it takes us into a fascinating world where everything seems fine for now, but anything could go wrong at any given minute. A suspenseful narrative around a mysterious fictional world is weaved so beautifully, full of unusual stillness, and chaos at the same time. The exciting characters and their actions creates an urgency in the storytelling and keep us on the edge throughout the book to dive deeper into it. Firstly that blast which shook the township. Then after, an entire house vanish as if it never existed! Sanjay and Ayush embark on quest to find shreya and her father anyhow? Is there something bigger cooking?

In the beginning, the readers may find it difficult to connect the dots as different timelines and parallel narrative are weaved which comes together in the climax to create more suspense and leaves us unanswered. We will have to wait for the second title in this series. The dialogue and interactions feel realistic, making the relationships between characters meaningful and engaging. Overall, this book is a thought-provoking and exciting read. A must read if you love to read science fiction, thriller or fantasy.

Sanctum key is all about the possibilities of science that surpass time and age. It takes us on a tour of the world created by modern technology, rich in physics, atomic energy, and cosmology.

Sanjay woke up one day in the hospital after a malfunction at the Dr Satyendra Nath Bose lab. After he was discharged, his friend Ayush went with him. He was in love with Shreya, and when he took Sanjay to see her house, he was shocked to find that the house was gone and no one remembered her. This unfolded many other things, like who & what else was missing and how it was possible.

On the other hand, Kamla and Madhusooshanan and their son Kulashekaran, in another timeline, were going to uncover a deadly secret that is the key to either saving or destroying mankind. One group is attempting to obtain the key, while another is trying to destroy it. Who will succeed?

The scientific elements, especially the research facility and its experiments, add realism and depth. The alternating timelines add suspense by gradually revealing clues. Although some sections necessitate careful reading to comprehend the intricate details, the writing style is engaging.

While the multiple timelines and characters can be a bit overwhelming, the author does a great job tying everything together. This book is worth reading if you enjoy stories that blur the line between science and myth, adventure and puzzles.

What a splendid combination of Time Transition, Science, and Myth! This is a really suspenseful story that will indulge you from the very first incident. I love the writing and storytelling on the author’s part, and I love the amalgamation of genres that brought out a hooking story.

Sanjay woke up one day in the hospital, after a malfunction at the Dr. Satyendra Nath Bose lab. His friend Ayush accompanied him after discharge, he was smitten with a girl Shreya and when he took Sanjay to show her house, he was shocked to see the house was missing and no one remembers her. This unfolded many other things like who & what else was missing and how is it possible.

On the other hand, Kamla and Madhusooshanan and their son Kulashekaran, in another timeline, were going to uncover a deadly secret that is the key to either saving or destroying mankind. One group is trying to get hold of that key and another is trying to destroy it. Who will succeed? The story will make you ponder beyond what you are familiar with.

It’s quite an adventurous book, which will no doubt keep you hooked and eager to solve the mystery, but at the same time, it eagerly demands concentration while reading. Too many characters and switching between timelines can confuse a reader profoundly. I enjoyed reading it, but it was also exhausting for me. Overall, will recommend it if you a fan of mystery, adventure, and solving puzzles. There are too many characters, but the author did a great part in developing a very individual personality for all of them.

Sanctum key is all about the possibilities of science that surpasses time and age. Rich with profound knowledge in physics, atomic energy and cosmology, it takes us a tour into the world devised by modern technology. This is much beyond an ordinary man's perception as it deftly blends the mythology, ancient history into modern science. The characters Sanjay and Ayush represents us, the layman who seek answers to some pertinent, questions. We get to more details about the scientific expedition that can be catastrophic to the humanity. It all began with their journey to find Shreya, Ayush's love interest.

The spectrum dish, laboratory, the way water shields them from losing their memory, all serves us the possibly best comprehensive sci-fi novel. The tension or alertness simmers in each chapter, that we eagerly embark on that adventerous expedition with the boys. The reference of Oppenheimer, King Ashoka and his reign, different Yugas make it even more awe-inspiring.

In every way, this novel is a testimony to the far reach of physics and technology, that have the potiential to overcome all the obstacles of time and space. Incorporation of Schrödinger cat theory and grandfather paradox made it even more enriching.

A must read novel for science fiction enthusiasts. Incredible work!!

Sanctum is a gripping blend of science, history, and mystery that keeps you hooked from the first chapter. The story jumps between timelines—one following a group of scientists dealing with a failed experiment, the other exploring an ancient secret that could save or destroy humanity. The stakes are high, the suspense is real, and the twists are unexpected.

The characters feel real, especially Sanjay and his friends, whose humor adds lightness to the tension. Kulashekaran’s journey in the past is beautifully written, and his admiration for Dr. Satyendra Nath Bose adds a charming touch. The mystery of the missing house and people vanishing keeps you turning pages.

While the multiple timelines and characters can be a bit overwhelming, the author does a great job tying everything together. If you love adventure, puzzles, and stories that blur the line between science and myth, this book is worth reading

The stakes are high from the very first page, and Sudharsana ensures that the tension never wavers. Each revelation adds another layer of complexity, making it difficult to put the book down. Twists arrive when least expected, keeping the reader engaged.

One of the most compelling aspects of The Sanctum Key is its philosophical depth. By exploring the intersection of science and the divine, the book raises thought-provoking questions about humanity’s pursuit of knowledge. Can we truly understand the essence of existence through science alone, or is there something beyond measurable reality?

The characters, especially the scientists and historians embroiled in the conflict, feel real and well-developed. Each has a distinct motivation, and their actions drive the plot forward in meaningful ways. The hidden genius from the past is particularly intriguing, adding an emotional weight to the mystery.

The Sanctum Key is an ambitious novel that blends historical mystery with modern science. The story follows an ancient knowledge tied to a dangerous secret, unfolding through two interconnected timelines. Sudharsana does a great job building suspense, and the depth of research is evident in both the scientific and historical aspects. The novel shines in its ability to keep readers engaged with twists and revelations. However, the complexity of the dual timelines and the dense detail in some sections require careful reading. While a few characters could have been fleshed out more, the core protagonists are compelling, and their journey is thought-provoking. What stands out most is how the novel challenges readers to consider the ethical implications of knowledge and power. For those who enjoy intricate thrillers that make you think, this book is an engaging and rewarding read that leaves a lasting impression.

The Sanctum Key: Picked on a Whim, Loved for the Ride.
I picked up The Sanctum Key on a whim, and I’m glad I did! It’s a fascinating blend of mystery, history, and science with an exciting plot that kept me turning the pages. The story follows an ancient secret that ties into modern-day events, and the way the two timelines unfold makes for a gripping read. There’s a bit of everything—action, suspense, and even some deep philosophical questions about knowledge and power. The characters are interesting, and I found myself rooting for them, even when the stakes got intense. Some parts were a little complex, especially with the scientific explanations, but overall, the book wasn’t too difficult to follow. It reminded me of National Treasure meets The Da Vinci Code—fun, intriguing, and just the right amount of mind-bending. If you like adventure novels that make you think, you’ll probably enjoy this one!

Sudharsana’s The Sanctum Key is a gripping blend of science fiction, historical intrigue, and philosophical exploration. At its heart, the novel revolves around an ancient battle between two secret societies, each with opposing ideologies about the Sanctum Key—an artifact of unfathomable power.

As a catastrophic scientific experiment goes wrong in the modern world, and a forgotten genius from the past unearths a dangerous truth, the novel weaves a dual timeline narrative that keeps readers hooked.

The novel masterfully shifts between the present and the past, creating a layered and immersive experience. The modern storyline, centered around a failed experiment at the Satyendra Nath Bose Energy Research Center, adds a strong scientific backbone. Meanwhile, the historical arc provides depth, grounding the narrative in real-world mysteries and legends.

One of the strongest aspects is the way you use small but significant details—the watch in the mud, the missing security footage, the house that never existed—to build suspense. These elements make the mystery feel almost supernatural while still grounded in a believable reality.

If there’s any room for improvement, it would be in tightening some dialogue to make it even sharper and more impactful. Some lines could be more concise to keep the tension high. Additionally, a little more internal conflict or emotional depth from the characters—especially regarding their personal stakes in the investigation—could make them even more relatable

The pacing is well-balanced, shifting smoothly between the official investigation led by Karnan and Muhammed and the secretive digital sleuthing by Sanjay and Ayush. This dual perspective adds depth, making the mystery feel layered and immersive. The characters are distinct, each with their own motivations—Karnan’s meticulous nature, Muhammed’s practicality, Sanjay’s persistence, and Ayush’s charm all stand out. Rukmini’s introduction adds another compelling dynamic, making it clear that multiple people are unknowingly chasing the same truth

Science, secrecy, friendship, and mystery - this is a superlative quality of highly engaging content. A sudden accident, a sudden disappearance, and a sudden discovery of a secret make for an enjoyable and thrilling pickup. There's a multitude of mysteries that need to be unraveled through scientific inquiry rather than relying on myths. Apart from the protagonist Sanjay, I liked all the other characters, including Ayush, Shreya, Karnan, Kamla, the old man, and everyone else. Each character represents a different facet of the story, interconnected with the others, making it a worthwhile read.

Picked it up thinking I’d read a few chapters before bed — ended up finishing the last 50 pages in one go.

The story pulls you in so naturally, and before you even realise it, you're completely immersed. It’s fast-paced, engaging, and full of little turns that keep you curious throughout. Nothing felt forced, nothing dragged.

And that ending — open in the best way.
I need part 2. Like, yesterday.

Absolutely worth the read.
