A Gangster’s Romance follows the unexpected, powerful connection between Xavier “Xae” Bennett, a man raised in loyalty and hardened by heartbreak, and Mariah George, a fiercely independent woman who’s known more pain than love. Xae, once betrayed by someone he trusted most, has vowed never to let anyone close enough to hurt him again. But Mariah, with her guarded heart and sharp edges, begins to stir something deep within him that he thought he’d lost, the hope of something real.
Mariah has always fought to survive on her own terms, distancing herself from the people who should have loved her most. In Xae, she finds someone who not only respects her hustle but sees her for who she is and what she’s endured. Their chemistry is undeniable, but both carry wounds that could either push them together or pull them apart.
As they navigate the uncharted waters of trust and vulnerability, Xae and Mariah are drawn into each other’s worlds, where passion, loyalty, and ambition collide. But with the dangers that surround them, they’ll have to decide whether their love is strong enough to stand against a life built on survival. A Gangster’s Romance is a story of two hearts, broken and rebuilt, risking everything for the chance at a life together.
Now this right here was so hood I was not disappointed. It had a great storyline full of love, obstacles, and drama. One thing for certain Xae was not playing about Mariah and she wasn’t playing about him!!
This was a very good read! I started reading and I knew the characters werw familiar but I could not figure out which book!! Then it hit me! When you look up ride or die you will see Xae and Mariah's pic there!
Damn Xae!!!! He just became book bae of 2025! This was the closure I needed from Xae and Mariah story from Captured by a Thug but loving the plug. My wish was answered when I wanted a story about Xae and Mariah.
Now let’s get down to business. That exactly what happened in the book. BUSINESSSSSSS!!!! Don’t play! Xae might be the man but honeyyy Mariah was the lady who put it down! Lady X don’t play! I love her character. She was about business! Don’t come for her and expect no repercussions! Of course her bestie Isis was down for the ride.
This was a great short story to get you of a slump or just to keep you entertained. I was entertained from the beginning to the end! Princess Chanel knows how to write a good story! Don’t sleep on her! 🫶🏽🤎🫶🏽
I’m confused on how Xae letting Regina suck his was necessary to get isis back… He literally could’ve pretended that’s what they were going to do and then when they got in the car good Zay could’ve came like he did without the extra. The fact he cheated on her was passed over to easily especially since he’s literally calling her a throat goat in this book and talking about how good it was. Like let’s be fr if it was the other way around regardless of saying it was necessary or not he would’ve been mad and left or harmed Mariah. He knew he was wrong because if he thought it was actually necessary he would’ve told her but he didn’t.
Aww, this book is so sweet. I absolutely love it! Xae and Zay were gangsta through and through, but Mariah was true to the game. She was the one you never saw coming. My girl was bout it. And let's not forget Granny, baby all hail to the Queenpin.
Xae and Riah hit a few rough patches and things got ugly with family drama including ex-wife and mama issues, but Team Bennett made it. They handled who needed to be handled and rocked and rolled into the sunset.
Zayden and Xavier definitely was about business in the streets and standing on business when it came to their women. Thought Mariah had childhood trauma and been hurt past relationships I’m glad she took a chance on love again, but she wasn’t playing when came to Xavier. Wish we could’ve gotten more background on granny thought she seem like a savage.
I love love love Xae and Mariah’s story! It was captivating and exciting, and held the perfect amount of romance and softness. I did not want it to end!! Princess Chanel is an amazing story teller and I am locked in to keep reading any and everything she writes.
