Pregnancy: For The First Time Moms, What They Don't Tell You

Rate this book
Are you a First time MOM? Do you want a horrible book that is very helpful? This book has so many errors, you will LOL reading it. It only has 3 stars! We are amazed that it's sold over 100,000 copies! But in all seriousness, this book was created to explain some of the experiences as a first time mom that no one tells you about. Please buy it, laugh at it, share it, and I hope it can benefit your first pregnancy.

Totally useless and worthless book
Very short with 27 pages
Very poor in content. There was absolutely nothing that I did not already know, or not once did I think while reading "oh yes, that I'll have to remember or take into account".
I deleted it as soon as it was finished and I did not linger much on it.
The writing was absolutely awful: full of typos with one letter instead of another, words used instead of adjectives, grammar mistakes like plural subject with singular verb. I guess there was a minimum of one big mistake per sentence on average.
I'd advise anyone not to read this book and instead focus his/her learning and reading on websites specialized on pregnancy and motherhood, with experts / real medical staff share their knowledge. It's more accurate, comprehensive and better written.

Disappointing

Mainly opinion. Little fact/ science. Everything in here is available free on the web. Tons of spelling and grammatical errors.

Written by a man, conflicting information and refers to the baby as a boy all the way through. Disappointed 😞

Okay if you've not checked another app's, aimed at people outside the uk. Good section on post natal depression after birth

Makes a thoughtless comparison between pregnancy mood swings and having bipolar disorder. “Many would suspect you were bipolar if they did not know you were pregnant.” Writer shows a his ignorance of what bipolar disorder is, and I found it offensive frankly.

Aside from that, the book contains very little useful information that you won’t have heard elsewhere. Feels like a lazy book written to cash it on pregnant women.

The writer is male but various phrases seem to imply he knows what it feels like to be pregnant. Weird.

Not going to lie, this book was terrible. I should have known that as soon as I saw it was written by a male… but anyways. For a book about things they don’t tell you or things people don’t talk about it was very short and not informative at all. There was nothing in this book that I didn’t already know including the 3rd trimester, delivery and recovery sections. Certainly would not recommend to another first time mom.

Got this as an ebook and not sure if the print version is the same, half the book was a preview for another book. Disappointing.

Amazing book!

As a 22 year old pregnant for the first time who doesn't have her mum to tell her these things I love this book. I know feel so much more confident about my pregnancy, birth and afterwards that i can thoroughly enjoy my pregnancy without worrying now. :) thank you!

Was this book really written by a man?

Not only is this book extremely informative, it is down-right cute! Both normal and obscure pregnancy positives and negatives are delivered to pregnant women and their fellows in a folksy, matter-of-fact, slightly tongue-and-cheek tone that will make them smile. The book skillfully covers the phases of pregnancy, broken down by trimesters, delivery and post-delivery. Subjects range from treating gestational acne, what medical tests to expect to dealing with touchy feely friends and strangers.

The last section of the book discusses what to expect during labor and after the baby is born. New mothers will learn how to deal with the after-the-baby weight, the serious issue of postpartum depression as well as the slightly embarrassing things that might happen in the delivery room. What a surprise to learn that when the baby pops out, the new mother doesn't instantly return to her old pre-pregnancy form.

This book is a must-read for any expectant mother and fathers-to-be. Reading it will create a few grimaces, some smiles and giggles and lots of comfort. I can't wait for Darell Spice to write a “What to expect...” for those of us looking forward to the next phase of being a woman: Menopause.

I love that someone was willing to write about this! I have had 3 kids and it seems each one made me look at pregnancy in a whole new way. Yes there is Joy and things that are wonderful but there are so many things your body goes through and I found that this book did a great job of preparing a first time mom for things to expect. If I had read this before my first I would have saved myself many nights or worries and doctors trips/calls

This was a complete waste of time and so poorly written that I had a hard time understanding what the author was trying to say at times. Good thing it was free and very short. My advice: skip it and get something written by professionals, or at least by someone who can string a sentence together better than a second grader and cares enough to run spellcheck.

I found out in November that I was expecting my first baby so I was intrigued by this book, there are some good points in it and I did pick up a few hints and tips and I do feel I am slightly more prepared (as prepared as you can be anyway!). I picked up my copy through Kindle Unlimited so had the added bonus that it was a free download!

When you're pregnant, *symptom* may happen to you, or not. Also some women will experience *other symptom* while others won't at all. Some will experience it very strongly. Other will hardly notice it.

There's no way to tell, so you should know that some things will happen to you.

Or not.
