Chasing revenge for my family’s murder, I’m forced to join the woman I’ve always hated…
Returning to his war-torn hometown of Dayton, Nevada, Wyatt Calahan hopes to rebuild his life. However, danger awaits. Nearby, a ranch owned by Eliza fights to save her family’s ranch from sabotage, driven by guilt over the massacre that claimed her loved ones. When the attacks echo the tactics of the gang that destroyed both their families, Wyatt and Eliza are forced into an uneasy alliance. Their search for answers leads them to a ruthless gang leader whose grip on the region runs deeper than they ever imagined. With corrupt officials closing ranks and violence escalating, Wyatt and Eliza must decide whether to trust each other—or risk losing everything...
In this gripping tale of loss and love, inspired by C.J Petit’s and Zane Grey’s favorite tales, Wyatt's quest for peace challenges the very essence of his spirit.

Lost me on page 53 when the hero calls a woman I assume to be the heroine paranoid. She assures him she is not paranoid. I suppose that next he'll tell her to see a therapist and get some zoloft. Well maybe not considering it's 1866. In fact considering it's 1866, I would imagine they'd have called each other CRAZY.
Earlier in the book (1855) the H comes upon a man who has set fire to his home. Shot his mother dead. Shoots his father dead who is laying there injured and laughs in the H's face and takes the gun out of the H's hand and calls him a young pup who isn't ready to kill anyone yet. Then the vicious murdereder rides away laughing. WHAT? The H is described as being around nineteen. For God's sake a 9 year old would have shot the bad guy. They were Ranchers not quakers. But our fearless hero shrugs his shoulders and goes to look for his younger brother whose hiding in the root cellar. He'll search for the bad guy later. REALLY? I would have thought no time like the present. This book is not coming together for me. A dnf.

Well written and very easy to anticipate where it was going. A good conclusion with the villain completely vanquished. Good read from start to fimish. I recommend it.
