Fire on Breakneck Mountain is the fourth book in the series featuring Sheriff Jordan Tynes. These modern westerns set in Park County, Montana, tell the stories of the ongoing impacts of the present day on a beloved part of Yellowstone National Park. Park County is the northern gateway to the grandest national park.
A scourge is spreading in Montana, particularly in Park County, which lies at the heart of the state. The monster is fentanyl, a drug capable of killing in minutes. This deadly chemical compound is being trafficked into the country by Mexican cartels and Chinese triads. Park County Sheriff Jordan Tynes finds herself in a ruthless battle to shut down these foreign drug dealers as the death toll rises.
The situation escalates when the cartel executioner brutally murders two Crow Indians as a grim warning—once you're entangled with the cartel, there's no escape from their control. The crisis deepens when two students at Livingston High School are found nearly dead from fentanyl-laced oxycodone. Dead set on ending this crisis, Jordan teams up with ATF Special Agent Mike Cardona and, with her deputies, begins to destroy these murderous syndicates.
Diego Suarez, the cartel’s chief executioner, is arrested in Wyoming, requiring Sheriff Tynes to fly there to retrieve him. However, while returning to Montana, their aircraft crashes on a mountaintop, directly in the path of an advancing wildfire. With the flames closing in, Jordan, her dog Maggie, the pilot, and Suarez must fight for their lives. Will they survive the raging inferno on Breakneck Mountain, or will the killer escape and leave them to perish in the firestorm?

Very good, fast moving story of good vs evil. The fire is only the beginning of a battle over the drug business in Montana between the Mexicans & the Chinese. Sheriff Tynes & her dog Maggie tackle the evil wherever it leads them.
Deputy Jordan Tynes can hold her own with any man. Unfortunately, she needs to keep proofing herself in male dominated enforcement teams in Montana. I am really enjoying this series.
