Yarimar Marrero Rodriguez has done it again! Hit out of the park with her sophomore novel. Absolutely amazed at the author 's range.... while her first novel wowed readers with magic, mystery, and a very detailed historical account, her second novel "Un Pais En Mi Mochila" reads like an autobiography. It is a beautiful, complex, endearing coming of age story, with the harsh realities of migrating to the United States of America as the central theme. And although this polarizing topic comes alive in the pages of this book, Valeria 's story is about so much more. As she weaves a tale of familial, friendship, and romantic ties, you walk away with a clear understanding of teenage angst and a proper study on how extremely difficult the migration to a strange land truly is... away from your people, your customs, and your native tongue. Amazing!
