Raised on a boat in the South Pacific and in the quiet rainforests of Hawaii, Dawn Halliday had plenty of time to develop her overzealous imagination. Between exploring deserted atolls, swimming in churning seas, and exploring lava tubes, Dawn started dreaming up stories of love and adventure before she could read them.

When she's not traveling to exotic lands (which she can always justify as "research"), Dawn lives with her True Love and three rambunctious children in Southern California. She writes passionate historical and contemporary romance, and loves every minute of it.

Sins of Summer: A Midsummer's Night Steam is a smokin’ hot little anthology that mostly lived up to its steamy, sinful title with each of the four stories featuring some kind/combination of menage. I read three of the four stories, only skipping Marie Harte’s futuristic story because futuristic just isn’t my thing. Maybe I’ll pick that story up somewhere down the line, but the remaining three were more than hot enough to make this an enjoyable read. Of course you must be willing to ask no questions, toss out your yeah-this-can-never-happen beliefs, and just kick back and let yourself be entertained, or these will never work for you…

In Annmarie McKenna’s Fantasmagorical, lovers Gabe and Lance work at Gabe’s uncle’s private sex resort on Fantasm Island in the Caribbean. Gabe and Lance are looking for a female ‘third’ in their love relationship, and they think they may have found her in petite brunette vacationer Evan.

Evan, who’s at the secret resort with a girlfriend for a week, wants to experience some sexual fantasies--she wants to be dominated and she wants to be part of a M/F/M menage. When hunky alphas Gabe and Lance ‘claim’ her, Evan’s in for the sexual time of her life. But is she willing to take the week-long partnership to a more permanent level?

This one was a little ‘out there’ in plausibility and not much time was spent on character development, and left me with some unanswered questions. But if you’re willing to put that aside and just roll with it (and focus on the hotness of the relationship), you’ll enjoy it. 3 ½ stars
Warning: This story contains explicit sex, including oral and anal, M/M love, M/F/M menage, light spanking, and use of a sex toy.

In Mackenzie McKade’s Take Me, California rich girl Cait, daughter of bully horse rancher George Culver, has always yearned for not-so-rich cattle rancher Cord Daily. Daddy thinks bad boy Cord (and his reputation) is no good for his daughter, so ships her off to her mother in Paris for 2 years. Cait’s almost 21 now, and she wants her crack at 24 year old Cord. But winning Cord may mean that she’ll have to take on his bad boy cousin Dolan as well. Can she do it?

Cord always desired the beautiful Cait, but before anything could happen between them, her father shipped her out of the country. Cord knows he’s not in the same financial league as her father, but a lucky gamble in a card game results in him being the proud new owner of a race horse who’s a potential gold mine. Now that Cait’s back in town, things are looking up. It’s time to find out if he can win her over, and not just for one night. Cait may just be the one who can cure his bad boy ways and have him thinking about one woman--forever. But will her father, who’s out to get his hands on Cord’s race horse, come between them again?

Hot little story here, but would have been much better if it was developed into novel length--it left me wanting more. What was presented was well done, the menage scenes were hot, but at the end of the story I said “that’s it?” I just wished there was more, because I enjoyed all the characters. 4 stars
Warning: This story contains explicit language and sex, including oral and anal, M/F/M menage, and light restraint with leather cords.

Dawn Halliday’s interracial story, Honeymoon Castaways, is just what the title suggests, except with a twist. A couple from Miami, Dave (who’s white) and Cat (Puerta Rican), newly married and on their way to their honeymoon in Jamaica, are flown there in a small private plane by their best friend Andreas (who’s black). The plane has engine trouble, they crash land on a deserted island in the Caribbean, and have to wait to see if anyone heard their mayday calls. While waiting to get rescued, Cat and Dave get on with the honeymoon activities, Andreas inadvertently spies on them ‘in the act’ and gets all hot and bothered. He’s always secretly fantasized about Cat, but would never want to come between her and best friend Dave’s relationship. But after Cat and Dave have a little talk together about noticing how Andreas ‘saw’ them, they decide to make him an offer he finds impossible to refuse.

This turned out to be quite a little scorcher, and DH gave just enough background details about the characters to make me care about them. Strangely enough I found myself caring about sweet Andreas the most--probably because there’s potential for him to be really hurt in the future. This one was fast and white-hot, and if you can put your “I’ll-go-with-it-and-see-where-it-takes-me” hat on, then you’ll be entertained…and maybe turned on. 4 ½ stars
Warning: This story contains explicit language and sex, including oral and anal, voyeurism and exhibitionism, and M/F/M menage. Not for the faint of heart.

If you're looking for some entertaining, fast paced and white hot menage stories, this anthology will be sure to please. Nothing terribly deep or thought-provoking, just a lusty good time. 4 star average for the anthology.

Oh me, oh my...I need something cold to drink AND a cigarette!
This is an anthology by AnnMarie McKenna, Mackenzie McKade, Marie Harte and Dawn Halliday. All of stories involve menage (MFM). So if explicit, hot, menage sex isn't your thing...don't read it! Oh, there's also a little MMF action.

I knew I would enjoy the stories by McKenna and McKade, but was pleasantly surprised to find I also enjoyed Harte and Halliday's stories. It's not often I find an anthology where I like all the stories. The book description available here on Goodreads gives you a good idea of what the stories are about, but I will add that you should definately have the following available as you read: a towel (for the drool, sweat, or any other fluids), a fan, some ice, and (for us pariahs) some smokes.

Enjoy!@!

From 4 to 3 stars for four erotic ménage a trois stories.

4 stars for FANTASMAGORICAL by Annmarie McKenna.
Wild and wicked erotic scenes. This story includes two gay guys having sex, and a girl having sex with them. She is a submissive, the guys dominate. There is bondage and rear door activity. For readers interested in these activities, the story works well and entertains. The author is a good erotic story teller.

Story brief: The two guys are employees at Fantasm Island. Evan is a guest, paying for a week long visit to the island for the purpose of sex with either other guests or with employees. In her questionnaire she requests ménage a trios and to be a submissive.

Story length: 60 pages. Sexual language: strong. Number of sex scenes: eight. Setting: current day private Caribbean island. Copyright: 2007. Genre: erotic contemporary romance.

For a list of my reviews of other Annmarie McKenna books, see my 5 star review of "Finding Strength" posted on 7/12/08.

3.5 stars for HONEYMOON CASTAWAYS by Dawn Halliday.
Nice erotic scenes with nice relationships. A newlywed couple invites the best man to join them in ménage a trios. No gay activity but yes rear door. The best man Andreas is a pilot flying the couple to their honeymoon destination when the plane crashes on a deserted island in the Caribbean. After the first night, the couple invites Andreas to join them in sex. He is reluctant at first, but not later.

Story length: 61 pages. Sexual language: strong. Number of sex scenes five. Setting: current day Caribbean island. Copyright: 2007. Genre: erotic contemporary romance.

3 stars for TAKE ME by Mackenzie McKade.
Pretty good. Definitely erotic. This story includes ménage a trois: two guys with a girl. The guys are very alpha and are not gay. She is not a submissive. There is rear door activity. The story was fine, but I did not like the misunderstanding causing a fight between Cord and Cait. I think the author should have come up with a better reason for them to have a fight.

Story brief: Cord inherited his parents’ cattle ranch. Cait’s father is very wealthy and owns a horse breeding ranch. Cord has desired Cait for a long time, but her father sent her to live with her mother for 2 years to keep her away from Cord. Cord and Dolan are known for having many women and frequently sharing the same woman. Cait returns to town. She also desired Cord but never acted on it. Cord and Dolan see her in a night club and take her together for that first night.

Story length: 71 pages. Sexual language: strong. Number of sex scenes: five. Setting: current day Santa Ysabel, California. Copyright: 2007. Genre: erotic contemporary romance.

3 stars for A SCORCHING SEDUCTION by Marie Harte.
Pretty good for erotic scenes. It’s different. Trace and Vaan are two warrior/military type guys who were not previously gay. They become attracted to each other during a ménage a trios with Fia who is a female spy. They tie her up, and there is rear door activity.

Story brief: Bad guy Joanen tries to kill the Prime (ruler of a planet) and frames Trace and Vaan. They flee to a resort planet. Fia is a secret agent for the Prime and follows them. They convince her they are innocent and she helps them return to prove it.

Story length: 62 pages. Sexual language: strong. Number of sex scenes: six. Setting: the year 3054 on other planets. Copyright: 2007. Genre: erotic science fiction romance.

3 Stars-I enjoyed this short story.

Honeymoon Castaways by Dawn Halliday
It was okay.

The description of the book I am listing below is from the back jacket of the book. I'm adding it because I believe the one on the Goodreads page does not depict these stories.

Good read - a quartet of trios... Four stories about menage relationships [three become permanent, one was a 'one night only':] in wildly diverse settings. The McKenna story is set at the [ever popular EVERYTHING included:] sex resort in the Caribbean, the McKade story is about cowboys [who know how to ride:], the Harte is a futuristic set in a sex resort [see above comment:], and the Halliday is set on an unknown Caribbean island where the bride and groom and the best man crash land... I was charmed, the stories all had plots with interesting characters and good dialog. And do I need to mention HOT? Not if you know any of these authors...

This book lives up to its promise of lots of steamy sex, but there is nothing really intriguing about it. The stories seem to follow perhaps a formula or something. I found it to be well-written and the sex scenes are explicit enough. I can't put my finger on why it was less than riveting, unless it's because I was hoping for more meat to the plots or perhaps maybe some unexpected or odd elements to add interest. I would say this is like a standard romance, only on major hormones.

As someone who is a big fan of erotica, and menage stories, I found this anthology to be singularly disappointing. While the premise of each story held great potential, none of the authors really succeeded, IMO. The characters were weak, the emotion fake or nonexistent and overall it just read like a series of sex scenes strung together.

If you are looking for pure sex, this is it. I'm 3/4 finished and have yet to read any kind of storyline other than people wanting to have sex with other people, be it male or female. The book is okay, but I prefer a better storyline to keep me interested.

I could not get past the first 2 pages, honestly. The title, cover, and first word in the book turned me off. A 14 year old writing one direction **** on wattpad could do a better job. Full offense. And if I could give this book a 0 I would. Do yourself a favor and dont waste your time on this.
