As the twenty-fourth book in the multi-author Independence Islands series, Rebuilding Hearts: Sparrow Island, by Carolyn Miller, is a charming story set primarily off the coast of Georgia on a small Atlantic island. This engaging novel is a contemporary love story full of friendships, faith, and second chances. A cast of several endearing characters, a compelling plot, and meaningful themes make this novel fun to read.
Page after page, this novel is especially touching and emotionally impactful. The characters are authentically vulnerable, and when they the struggle with insecurities and difficult decisions, the story is very moving. Despite a painful past that complicates their future, the main characters persevere with resiliency and vulnerability. Frequently, they turn to their faith for direction, purpose, and hope. And as the story unfolds, themes such as trust and honesty strengthen the novel and make it quite uplifting.
With a special talent for storytelling, Ms. Miller always crafts novels that are worthy and memorable. Rebuilding Hearts is truly an inspiring and entertaining book. From the first page to the last, it is a thoroughly enjoyable story, and I gladly recommend it.
