Ten years is too long to be working on the rig and I know it. I’m not sure how much more my body can take, but I keep going out for months at a time because it’s the only way I know how to support my mom and sisters. But they’re growing up and my mom needs to get over her dislike of the DSMC; all they want to do is help her.

I haven’t had much of a reason to stay on solid ground, other than my club brothers, but everything changed during my last break. When I met Emery at the club’s bar, I was mesmerized. If obligation hadn’t taken me back out to the rig after the night we spent together, I would have never let her slip away. I haven’t been able to get her off my mind.

With my sister’s graduation, I’m taking a longer shore leave than I have in years, but I’m not doing it just for my family. I’m going to find Emery and prove to her that she’s all I’ve been thinking about for months. When our paths cross unexpectedly, and without me having to track her down, I know fate has stepped in. OMG!!! WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a little longer than I like to read, but I really love this one!!!

Driller/Kade and Emery met at the Sanctuary Bar when she goes to met with Beckett and Amelia Protecting His Home. Driller is at the Sanctuary because he needed a break, but notices everything changes when Emery walks in. Emery notices Driller watching her, but when Amelia notices, she tells her they're going to head back to their hotel. Emery is made sure she is alright by Amelia before they head out. Driller and Emery talk and find out more about one another. Then Driller asks Emery is she's ready to go so that they can get lost in one another. Driller takes Emery back to her apartment and she takes him inside. Driller pleasures Emery then they make love. The next morning when Emery wakes up Driller is gone with no note. Emery doesn't hear from Driller for three months. Emery is tattooing Loot one of Driller's MC brothers when she realizes he's in the Devil Saint's MC. Emery wants to asks Loot about Driller but he's her client. When Emery goes to her aunt's house for dinner her Aunt Dot tells her she thinks her sister Jen is in trouble. Emery's Aunt Dot tells her she wants to get help in finding her sister and wants her to go with her. Driller had to head out on the oil rig early since there was an accident, he got paid a little extra it. Driller left in a hurry and forgot to leave a note for Emery.Driller's mother is controlling and when his father passed away on a run for the DSMC. Driller's mother told him that he's responsible for being the man of the house telling him he needed to work on the oil rigs to bring home money for her and his two sisters. Driller wants to be done on the oil rig one of his sister's will graduating and got a full ride to college while his other is going to graduate in a year. Emery's aunt takes her to the DSMC since she knows Apostle and works with Sioux Devil's Savior. While they are waiting for Apostle to come, Emery questions her aunt on how she knows him. Then Emery and her aunt are introduced to Lucifer and Prodigal. As Aunt Dot explains to the men about Emery's sister Jennifer is missing and hasn't checked in in a while. Emery sinks into her chair hoping she doesn't run into Driller. Soon Loot comes in with Driller, and he calls her name. Driller wants to know from Loot how he knows Emery. Loot tells Driller that Emery just finished his back piece. Driller wants to know what's going on, then he tells Emery that they're going to talk. Driller tells Lucifer that he wants to help find Emery's sister. When they are done talking Emery bolts out of the clubhouse, her aunt Dot tells Driller that Emery is stubborn but worth it. Driller tells Aunt Dot he messed up but he's going to make up for it. After Emery and Aunt Dot leave, Driller tells his MC brother's he's claiming Emery. Driller also tells them he's done with the oil rigs he's not going back out he wants to follow his dreams and be a tattoo artist. While Emery is working Driller shows up, he explains what happened and why he left. Driller tells Emery he should have left her a note with his phone number. Driller tells Emery she's going to be his priority and he's done with he's oil rigs and supporting his mom. Driller tells Emery he's ready to chase his dream, he wants to make it up to her and prove he's her man. The next day Driller goes to see his mother to tell her he's no longer working on the oil rigs. Driller's mother doesn't like that he belongs to the DSMC, she's hated the club since his father was killed while on a run. The club would have helped Driller's mother but she turned her back on them. When Driller's mother tells him it's his responsibility to take care of this family he tells her he doesn't remember the last time she was his family. Driller tells his mother he's no longer going to support her but he'll take care of his sisters. Driller tells his mother he's going to live his dream, then leaves. Driller heads to see Emery at her apartment, when she opens the door he pulls her into a hug. Driller tells Emery he needs her, then she kisses him and pulls him into her apartment. Emery tells Driller to take her and use her. While Emery is at work cleaning her station there's a knock on her door. Lucifer is standing there, Emery asks if everyone is alright. Lucifer tells her everything is fine, then they talk for a while. Lucifer tells Emery about the club wanting to open a tattoo parlor, but they wanted Driller to run it. Lucifer asks Emery for her help they want to give her a job as well. Lucifer tells Emery Driller doesn't know about the tattoo parlor just yet, and she needs to stand by Driller. Driller is out helping find Emery's sister Jennifer. Driller finds out from Lucifer that Emery's sister is in bad shape, she's prosecuting to buy her drugs. The DSMC want to go in and save Emery's sister, but they want Driller to tell Emery about what is going on. When Driller goes to see Emery and tell her about her sister, she wants to go and help. Driller tells Emery he needs to talk to Lucifer, but he lets her go and help. They head out to the shady part of town where they last spotted Emery's sister Jennifer, they have a van just in case she'll accept the help they'll offer her. Driller leads Emery into the room her sister is in. Emery tells her sister she has a few options, she can accept help, go on living like she is, or take some money and leave. Emery's sister tells her she'll accept the help and go to rehab. After Emery's sister makes her choice she tells Driller to take her away from this place and make her forget. The following week Emery and Driller are at his sister's high school graduation, she is introduce to his two sisters and mother. Emery tells Driller she forgives him, and he's shown her he'll put her first. Just before the ceremony starts Emery sees a lot of Driller's DSMC brother come in and sit behind them. Emery realizes this is what family is all about. When the ceremony is over Driller introduces his sister's to Emery, when his mother finds them she has a few words for Emery. Emery tells Driller's mother that she will put a stop to her guilt trip she has on her son. Driller's mother has more to say to Emery but she puts her in her place. Lucifer comes and stand behind Emery telling Driller's mother that she has the DSMC backing. Then Emery pulls Driller to his bike and they head to the clubhouse, when they get to his room he tells her he loves her, and she tells him she loves him. Then they make love to one another. Lucifer calls Driller into his office and tells him about the property he has and tells him they want to put a tattoo parlor for the club. Driller doesn't know what to say, Lucifer tells him that he wants him and Emery to take care of things at the tattoo parlor as a team. Six weeks later, Driller and Emery are married and she just found out she's pregnant. They just finished the last things on the tattoo parlor and are expected to open tomorrow. Emery's sister is still in rehab. Driller and Emery just need to christen the tattoo parlor Sacred Tattoo tomorrow but today is for them.

Emery started out as a receptionist at a tattoo shop. She found her calling and became an apprentice, and now is a full- fledged tattoo artist. Her parents did not like her career choice and disowned her. The only family that cares about Emery is her Aunt Dot. Emery is meeting her friend, Amelia Banks at a bar called The Sanctuary, which used to be a church. Amelia lives in Denver with her husband, Beckett, who owns a tattoo shop there. He offered Emery a job, but she loves New Orleans.

Kade “Driller” is sitting at the bar having a beer. He is immediately attracted to Emery when she walks in. When Emery comes up to the bar for another drink, he talks to her. Amelia and Beckett are going to leave and offer Emery a ride. Driller asks her to stay for one drink and Emery agrees. They end up going back to Emery’s apartment. Driller tells her that he got his nickname because he works on an oil rig. He is shocked that Emery is a tattoo artist because he started as an apprentice when he was 18. He has dreamed of running his own shop. Those dreams were put on hold when his father died when he was 18. His mother was an old lady in the MC and blamed the club for his death. She pressured Driller to be to one to take care of her and his two younger sisters. That was 10 years ago, and he is ready to stop going on the oil rig. He is scheduled to go back for a 3-month stint on the oil rig in a week. This will be his last time.

They have a great night together, but when Emery wakes up, Driller is gone. She is heartbroken because he didn’t leave a note or his phone number. 3 months later, Emery goes with her Aunt Dot to the Devil’s Saints MC clubhouse. Her Aunt Dot wants their help to find Emery’s sister, who is a mess. Driller walks in when they are meeting.

I was glad that Emery was strong and stood up for herself with Driller. I liked that Driller knew he had to show Emery that he was sorry.

Emery is at a bar with friends when she spots a handsome guy looking at her. As she approached the bar to get more drinks things change quickly.
Kade starts talking to her when one things leads to another. They end up going to her place. This is just the beginning of their future. Kade gets a call that he has to respond to for his job on an oil rig. He just leaves but doesn't leave a note or anything. Upset since she thought he was the one. She just does her job at a local tattoo studio. Three months pass when she is sitting with her Aunt at the same MC that Kade belongs to. Nothing from him and the next thing she knows he is sitting right beside her. The Aunt explains that her other niece is in trouble and she needs their help. Kade AKA Driller as he's known at the club is trying his best to get the details for her sister but wants so bad to take Emery in his arms and explain what happened.
Kade finally gets a chance to explain but Emery is still upset but she knows deep in her soul she loves this man. Kade gets Emery to listen and he also explains that they have information on her sister.
Kade tells the guys at the MC he is no longer working on the rig and wants to open a tattoo shop of his own and bring Emery along. The guys at the MC are proud of him and present him with a building to do just that, open a shop.
Kade tells Emery and things move quickly. Kade can't wait any longer to make Emery his, cut, ring a life with her. He presents her with her own cut, ring and a short time after that they are married, getting ready to open up their tattoo studio and Emery is even pregnant with their first child.
Things moved fast but when your in love that's what happens.

Loved this one!

Quite an interesting read! I thoroughly enjoyed this story about two young adults, who have had to deal with quite a bit of baggage, making a connection only to lose it in less than 8 hours. Emory is a talented tatoo artist who has had to deal with her parents’ distaste for her career choice and subsequent distancing, watching her older ‘bad girl’ sister hone in sexually on her high school boyfriend then travel down a dark path, and wanting badly to get away from her creepy boss and start her own tatoo business. Driller (Kade) has been dealing with his crazy mother’s hate of the MC Club after his father’s accidental death and her manipulation of him for the past ten years to provide for her and his sisters - when the Club was more than ready to step in and do everything for her. In addition Kade’s work on the off shore rig is starting to wear on him, and his dream of opening his own tatoo shop doesn’t seem any closer. The intense connection Emory and Kade have is just the beginning of the story and Ms Davis has an amazing gift for storytelling. This is an emotional ride on multiple fronts and the characters are well developed and believable. There are two big potholes on this road to HEA and both Emory and Kade find it’s easier to face challenges if you have someone beside you that you trust. Each of the books I’ve read in this ‘Good With His Hands’ multiple authors series have been very grounded and realistic and extremely interesting. I look forward to reading more of them.

Shore Leave is part of the Good With His Hands Season 2 series. It's a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, opposites-attract, curvy girl gets her biker, second-chance romance. Emery is a sassy and curvy tattoo artist. Kade "Driller" is a hunky, oil rig worker and member of the Devil Saints MC NO chapter. Emery and Kade meet at a convention and have a very hot one night stand. Both feel an instant connection, but the next morning, Kade is gone without a word. Emery feels hurt and used. But unbeknownst to her, Kade was called away for a work emergency off shore and didn't think to leave a note or a way to contact her. He's gone for 3 months and misses her every day. He's determined to find her when he returns. He does, and they cross paths at the DSMC club house when her aunt needs help locating her estranged sister. She's upset initially and won't talk to him. But he is determined she will be his old lady. Can he prove he is all in? And that he won't leave again? I love the Devil Saints so much, and Kade is such a hottie 😍🔥. The way he adored Emery was everything. His mom was the devil!! I loved seeing Emery stand up to her to support Kade. This couple had insane chemistry, and we got such a happy ending once the issues were resolved. I loved it so much. And Aunt Dot was a hoot! Please tell me Loot is getting a book too!!!.

Good with his hands season 2 is off with a MASSIVE Bang.

We meet Emery, who is a tattoo artist who has worked hard for every single thing she has. She goes to meet an old friend, and finds herself being watched by Driller. He can't help when he wants to approach her, and she can't fight the pull she feels to him.

These two have a night that shows them this is it. They are IT for each other. After some major miscommunication between the two when Driller has to rush back to his oil rig for a job, things are bleak for both of them.

These two were done with anyone else after that night. They just need to reunite. They come back together as soon as driller makes it home, and Emery needs help for her Aunt to find her estranged sister. There is so much Alpha knowledge in their deep feelings for each other, there is no way they would make it without each other.

I love how true, loyal, sincere, and passionate these two are about each other. If you get nothing else in this story (after the major steamy, sexy moments these two share) its that sometimes you find that other half and there is no running from it. You see Drillers MC brothers have his back ,and help however he needed.

This is a intensive dive into the MC, with Driller finding the woman who had it heart from the moment he met her. Excuse me while I grab my fan and fire proof pants!

Emery is a tattoo artist who has been trying to make a name for herself in a very much male dominated profession and without most of her family’s support. When she visits the bar with Amelia and Beckett while they were in town on vacation, the last thing she expects is to meet Kade, fall for him, and then for him to leave before she wakes up without a word. Little does she know that he was called away for work but never forgot about her. When he has another round of leave come up, he is determined to find Emery and win her over. When Emery has a need for the MC to help her, it brings the opening that Kade needs to make things right and finally make her officially his. This was a great story and a great addition to the series.

Emery and Kade meet and share a passionate night together. When Emery wakes up Kade is gone and doesn’t return for months. Emery’s sister goes missing and since her aunt has ties to Devil’s Saints MC (you meet her in Devii’s Savior, she works at Sue’s school), they go there seeking help to locate her. Little does Emery know, Kade is back and is a member of the club. Kade spent months thinking of Emery and regretting leaving without a word so when he runs into her again he decides he will stop at nothing to win her back.

This is a cute fast paces instalove story and a good installment in the Devil’s Saints MC word. There is a pretty notable cameo from some Denver Family (Banks’ Ink) Series that was nice to see if you are a long time reader of Ember Davis. Great book, can’t wait to jump back into NOLA with the next book.

Talk about all the feels!
Kade screws up after his first time with Emery. Leaving her ghosted was not what he meant to do. After 3 months he has a lot to make up for. First he needs to work on his family so he can follow his dreams. Second and most important is to make Emery his.
Emery’s Aunt Dot comes to the bikers for help finding her other niece, Emery’s sister Jen. This is how Kade reconnects with her. He grovels his way back into her life and shows her with his action how he will always be there for her.
She shows him that she has forgiven him by standing up to his Mom.
Emery has been disowned by her family and is grateful for the family Kade and the club provide.
The emotional journey was amazing
Can’t wait to read more from Ember.
I’m glad that the Hot & Bothered book club is doing bikers this time.

Kade “Driller” is a good son and an even better brother, but when he meets Emery he knows that she’s his woman! Their one night stand is indescribably steamy, but an emergency cuts it short and he leaves her questioning and sad. I love Emery’s personality: feisty, independent, and she says what needs to be said even if it hurts. Kade has his work cut out for him to win Emery over, to make his dream of a tattoo shop become reality, and to stay in his sisters’ lives.
Ember Davis is a must read for me: I love her characters, her series, and the way they interact and connect with each other. The DSMC is one of my favorites and New Orleans is such a great place! Kade and Emery are embraced wholly by his Prez and Cherise as well as his brothers. Their HEA is sweet, spicy, and leaves me feeling happy!!.

Kade "Driller" and Emery meet as she's out with friends. They're quickly taken with each other and spend the night together. The next morning, he's gone unexpectedly, leaving Emery angry and feeling used.

It takes Kade three months to get back from the oil rig and explain to Emery what happened to call him away. In the meantime, Emery's aunt is concerned about her other niece, Emery's sister. She's gone missing, and they end up at the club house seeking help.

The search begins, and other aspects of Kade’s life also rear its head. On top of that drama, Kade and Emery are still trying to mend their relationship. Will Emery understand why he disappeared? Will Kade keep his word regarding turning a new leaf in life that will include Emery?

I truly enjoyed this read 📚!

Kade 'Driller' is a member of the DSMC New Orleans chapter who splits his time working on an oil rig and taking care of his mom and sisters. He is on leave when he meets his 'one' Emery and they have one magical night together before everything goes sideways. Kade's road to redemption is an uphill one but he definitely puts in the work. I love how open and honest they are with each other. Of course they fall fast and hard as is true of any Ember Davis book but this story has more than just a fast and instant love between two souls. Steamy moments and heart wrenching truths make this story truly come alive. Another amazing addition to the DSMC series!.

This was one amazing book. It was not at all what I was expecting it to be. Emery is living her life. She is alone for the most part and trying to make her situation better. One night she goes to a local bar to meet some of her friends. She runs into Driller "Kade" a biker who is there letting off some steam. These two have instant chemistry but the next morning Driller is gone. Not a word to Emery about what is going on. Was this a one night stand or is there so much more between them? I absolutely loved the chemistry and sparks between these two. Driller is a man that you could easily fall for. This was well written and enjoyable from beginning to end. It has me wanting to read more from Ember Davis.

A great book by one of my favourite authors. Loved Driller (Kade) and Emery. Their story is one of instant attraction and it was spicy hot with a little drama and lots of feel good family moments. While Kade is a strong man who has done his best to look after his mother and two sisters he has the DSMC that are there to help in any way they an and when he meets Emery he knows she is a special woman who was made for him. Emery is strong and independent and together they forge ahead to build a beautiful relationship. I enjoyed all of the other characters as well and this book leaves the road open for more good reading down the track. Looking forward to reading more in this series.

I love the Devil’s Saints MC books! Although the premise is a bit sad, that the MMC has to leave after he spends an incredible night with the FMC, I’m glad he makes it back to her right when she really needs him and the DSMC.
As is true for all of Ember’s books, their chemistry together, their dialogue, and the steam were on point! Of course, I always love a series that has parts of the Denver family in it, every single book that ties back to that world has been a win!

Definitely read this story!

Shore Leave book 4 in the Good with his Hands: Season 2, a new to me author 4.25 stars

Kade “Driller” is part of the Devil’s Saints MC and works on an oil rig for the last 10 yrs helping to take care of his mother and sisters after the death of his father. The longer he is on the rig the harder it is for him to have the life he wants and find where he truly belongs…

Trust, Family, Dysfunction and Love! Can they all be involved at the same time? Well definitely yes as Kade and Emery have shown in this story. Being a part of an MC doesn’t mean that you are bad and have no redeeming qualities. While Kade has not lived an easy life, he’s always there for his sisters and his MC Family. Emery has also had a rough start in life but she’s always known that Aunt Dot had her back. When Kade saw Emery the caveman, MINE, came out to play but he also didn’t use his brain before disappearing for three months. Can Emery or will Emery forgive him? Get ready for true emotions, a reality check and HOPE to be shown in this book. A truly great read.

Shore Leave by Ember Davis is a MC, blue-collar, insta-love romance that is entertaining and full of heart. This book, part of the Good With His Hands: Season 2 series, features Emery, a tattoo artist and Kade “Driller” (an oil driller) of the Devil’s Saints clubhouse. This contemporary romance showcases family dynamics, insta attraction, and friendship. Emery and Kade both have traveled life’s ups and downs but find comfort with one another. They have a connection filled with steam and romance. They have to face some conflicts but manage to find their way to one another with their own HEA. I really liked the loyalty and connection to family & friends within the story. This is my first time reading from this author but plan to read more.

A bonus appearance by Amelia and Beckett!

A DSMC book but we get an awesome bonus in the form of Beckett and Amelia too, love it!
However I don't love the vile person that is Driller's mother (I actually object to giving her that title- she doesn't deserve it) I am so glad Driller finally calls time and tells her enough is enough, I really think he is needed far more by his sister's at home than he knows. I loved seeing Emery go all Mama Bear and defend Driller, DSMC and his sisters, no more sweet and gentle Emery - sassy, feisty and bitchy Emery emerged! Mother was put in her place perfectly, so good!

I really liked Emery and Kade as characters, they were strong, kind, caring, focused, loyal and shared a passion. Together they clicked and made sense, and they complimented each other well. I loved how Kade owned up to his mistake, how he set about making amends, how Emery could see both hers and his side of things, how his brothers supported them, and oh my goodness, Aunt Dot, she was a cracker, will she get her own story? The connection and chemistry between these two was written well and their story held my attention from start to finish.

I loved Shore Leave: Good With His Hands: Season 2. Kade is tired of working on the rig and is ready to follow his dreams. When he meets Emery, his whole world changes but he has to leave her in a rush. For three months Emery has thought about Kade, thinking they had something special and not understanding why he left suddenly. Now he’s back and ready to claim her but will she forgive him? I loved the story and the characters. I love how all of Ember Davis’s books have characters that intertwine. I would definitely recommend this book and I can’t wait for more books in the DSMC series.

Kade is getting ready to go back out to the oil rig for the next 3 months. He stopped in for a beer and sees Emery. They hit it off and they both feel the connection, the chemistry, the electricity. So it all seems to be going in the right direction until its not! What happened? Where did Kade disappear too? Was this all an act? This is really such a good story. There is drama, danger and suspense. There is a lovable, sassy aunt who can hold her own. It’s original, fresh and hot and steamy. I really enjoyed the author’s style very natural. Very enjoyable read!.

Kade and Emery meet at a bar and it’s love at first sight. Things turn heated but the next day Emery wakes up alone. With no way to contact Kade she tries to move on. Kade was called away on an emergency on the oil rig where he works and for 3 months has kicked himself for not leaving Emery contact details and explaining. Now he’s back on shore and determined to find her, he’s never letting her go again!! Hot, sweet and steamy story with amazing chemistry, a loving, caring, determined hero, a little suspense and a wonderful HEA.

Driller and Emery spend one steamy night together but when he disappears in the morning she's unsure what to think about him. Emery is a tattoo artist and Driller is a member of the DSMC but also works on an oil rig so when he left that morning it was for work. Neither forgot the other but she felt like he ghosted her and he's hoping she'll understand and will believe that he can be trusted. I loved these two for each other and their story held my attention from beginning to end. Shore Leave is a great addition to the multi-author Good With His Hands: Season 2 series. I look forward to reading the rest of this series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Characters had unusual (for me) jobs - she's tattoo artist and he works on an oil rig in the Gulf.

But instalove and the drama born of misunderstanding or not thinking + the family drama were quite familiar from other romances.

I'm glad they got their HEA. I hope Emery continues to soak in the family that is the DSMC. I hope Emery's sister is also well on her way to wellness, finally. And that Kane's mom turns her attitude around. And that Kane's sisters flourish once they're away from the bitterness that their mom can't seem to shake.

This book is part of a multi author series called Good with his Hands season 2. I ve read about Driller in some of the other Devil's Saints books by Ember Davis and couldn't wait to read his story. Such a good book. Emery was a strong independent woman who made Kade ( Driller) work for her trust. I love how Kade loyal and fierce he was with the ones he loved. Aunt Dot was hilarious...good side characters.
