In a land where the Towers rise high and the Demon War rages, En is part of those who will become Climbers—mages that climb the tower to gain the power necessary to fight back the demon tide. Before that, though, they must enter academies, where they will learn to use their power—and the Marked, a divinely-selected elite cohort, will come into their own special powers.
The Marked, those special few, have only been women for as long as history records. Until En awakens into a Mark of his own.
Now, he'll attend the Marked-only school, Ascension Academy. He'll learn to use his powers, climb the tower, and meet all sorts of other interesting friends (maybe more than friends) along the way.
At 15%, I dropped out. The book may be great for some readers. The plot looked interesting, and well written. I just can't stay interested in a MC that has to have s*x to acquire his proficiencies. It drives to much plot armor and makes the interactions and relationships tainted.
I suppose the setting and the basic premise should have been red flag enough. He's got a super rare magic that only one other guy has ever had, and to make it work he (generally) has to do some sort of sex act with whatever hot girl is around. Honestly there's really not that much in this story outside of the sex scenes. There's a light dusting of litrpg elements (e.g. a status system to conveniently explain abilities), but most of the story is just what act he's doing with what girl at a given time. I thought the main character was annoying, there's something off about the way his dialogue is written. Outside of that, the characters are shallow and the world is hollow.
If you enjoy the sex scenes, then there should be a lot for you to enjoy. If you're looking for anything more out of the story, you'll probably be disappointed. I won't be continuing with the series.
In a world of magic, some people have supermagic. The protagonist (hereafter "MC") is the first male in a bazillion years to have super magic, so he gets taken away to supermagic school, which is an all-girls school filled with scantily clad (supermagic raises body temperature), horny (another supermagic side-effect) women. And what is the MC's supermagic power? His D. The focus of this book is the MC applying his super power to people - literally everything else is a secondary consideration. Want to read about world building? Character development? Plot? No time for that, MC's gotta' use his D on the headmistress! And his classmates!
Other than that, the writing is okay, and there were no glaring editing issues or typos, so it's a fairly quick read and I was actually able to force myself 3/4 of the way through before giving up.
So apparently everything is solved with the MCs magic stick. This entire book is almost nothing but sex and heading into Dom/sub stuff. There is no real education or learning shown at this “academy” instead it’s all just random sex. Oh we also have demon grape and impregnating so that’s an awful thing… Finally can’t forget the headmistress just deciding to screw her newest student right off the bat for reasons.
This book was exceptionally bad. The writing was ok, but the story was decidedly sub par.
This was a fun one but a little light of details. We get a good amount of information on En and the girls around him but everything else is kind of lacking. More info on the world, the school, and that there are more than like 10 students at the academy he’s at. It is a 5 star story if you want to find every possible opportunity to have sex. I enjoyed it but want more info about everything else!
The characters are so alive and relatable. Their actions and decisions are so aimed for the overall benefit of their people that you admire their courage and feel bad for their naivety. The action is fast and furious. Overall, an excellent story!!! Hopefully the author will continue the series with many more books - there is just so much more to tell.
Fun romp and good sexytime however very thin on the rest. There are few characters other than the MC and his coterie. There is also a remarkable lack of details on the magic and the way the demons and towers work. I mean, the MC is in a Academy with lots of students, but you don't see glasses. Or any of the other students unless they're gonna be a prospective partner. Fun read but thin story. Good sexytime.
Oh man I loved this. My only complaint is there was not enough of it.
Plenty of steamy scenes and a MC who rolls with the punches and isn't always so worried about doing the right thing. Still a good person but someone who's grown up in tough spots and tends to approach life calmly and just let what happens happen.
This could definitely benefit from an editor though.
too much sex not enough plot. The mc forgets about his childhood friend...The mc is such a douche, and the sex is just pure wish fulfillment, if your really into erotic novels it's probably good for you, but if you want a cohesive narrative with good characters, look somewhere else. The ending is also not great, just a bunch of deus ex machinas, and the mc is in a conflict we get no context for.
Book had good action and plenty of spicy scenes, well written too. Things that needed improvement are what exactly the demon wars is, also character descriptions could use improvements.
Could have been great. But for as short as the book is it's mostly smut with extra steps. Relationships felt empty and hollow, and when you combine that with several instances where the author alludes to the potential SA of LI's... yeah not so much.
En ward the mc of the story is both blessed and cursed by the fates to being the first male marked in centuries and his adventures in this book are funny.
I dont know how i feel about this book. Did i liked this book? Yes. Do i plan to read the second one when it releases? Yes; but there are some things which made me feel weird. Like the MC having relationships with both Mom and Daughter, the BDSM elements etc.
Spoiler!!!! Book is fairly good. Biggest complaint is that they keep taking about how much danger MC is in but do not explain why. It is just of course he is. He never even questioned it.
This is the haremlit version of Hybrid × Heart (the anime/light novel) where they have sex to get powered up. It's gimmicky but once you get over that it's just a nice walk in the park. Nothing too crazy, nothing new, but solid enough writing.
A slice of life, surprise super power up with beautiful companies some very friendly, some more a challenge. Lots of jeapordy, with power ups earned, and love of companions
Not worth 5 stars, but i have nothing bad to say about this one. A little too spicy, but it did not take away from the story. I'll be reading the next books.
10% plot, 90% smut. Personally I enjoy a good story and if there’s some smut mixed in, that’s perfectly fine. This book is so heavy on the smut that the book would probably be around 50 pages if it were cut out. Not my cup of tea
Would love to have a second book. Getting good hopefully I love all the characters loving the domination of the lets say mean girl. And more tsunders please
