4.5⭐️

I read this book last month, and it quickly became one of my favorites. The story picks up a few years after the first one left off, with Maya and Rey now living together following the events of the previous book. However, things take a turn when a case puts them on opposite sides, forcing their love and trust for each other to be tested.

This book is a political thriller, and it strikes the perfect balance of tension, mystery, and suspense. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, constantly wondering who the next victim would be. It was filled with unexpected twists and turns, keeping me on high alert. The revelations towards the end completely shocked me as I never saw them coming.

If you love murder mysteries, thriller with a political twist and scorching romance, then you should definitely check this out!

What in the world of political mystery have I read!! How much COOKED do you think the author is when she writes one of the best thriller & mystery PLOTS I have ever read?!

I'm so infatuated by this series so far and the way this book wrapped up at the end, had me on the edge of my seat. I'm almost on my knees at this point - begging the author to give me the next book due to the ending that we got have me desperate to be honest.

I'm so enchanted and deeply invested in this book & in this series overall that, I can't even began to express how good the story line, the characters, the PLOT and specially the way things reveal itself in this book & in this series is so DAMN GOOD.

A must read if you like politics, drama, mystery, thriller, crime investigation and of course romance.

5/5 stars for sure!!

And Suvika, you COOKED as always, I didn't expect any less for sure. I'm so looking forward to the next book as you only gave me few breadcrumbs of REY & MAYA to survive on but I cherished those moments so much and I can't wait to read them in next book.

Thank you so much, Elentiya PR for providing me the opportunity to review this book. I'm so grateful.

And she does it again. I swear I've never read a murder mystery so good. That ending was not what I expected and I was so off in guessing who the killer was. I was hooked from the start. I couldn't wait to reach the end. It was my first time reading a political thriller and at this point, I'd read anything by this author.

Also, the ROMANCE!! I'm obsessed with Rey & Maya and my heart is literally broken after that ending, like whyyyy?? I need them happy again. The first half of the book was my favorite because we got such cute scenes of them. I can't get over this couple.

I honestly can't wait for the next book and I know this finale is going to be epic.

I definitely recommend this series, if you're looking for the perfect balance between a thriller and a romance.

**A Political Thriller That Keeps You Guessing Until the Very End!**

📚Maya Bansal, a sharp and fearless young police officer, and Reyansh Mittal, a brilliant corporate crisis handler, are going steady after overcoming a tumultuous past. But life is about to throw them into a storm they never anticipated—one that could test both their careers and their relationship.

📚Sanchit Pradhan, the chosen Prime Ministerial candidate by the current PM Vishnuvardhan Batra, faces massive opposition from within the party and the opposition alike. When a state CM is murdered during a high-profile rally, tensions skyrocket. Sanchit appoints Rey as his political handler—marking Rey’s first dive into the murky waters of political crisis management.

📚Simultaneously, Inspector Maya Bansal is appointed the Investigating Officer for the murder case. Unaware that their professional paths are about to collide, Maya and Rey pursue their respective duties—one seeking the truth, the other managing a political storm.

**Will Maya uncover the killer before it’s too late? Will her relationship with Rey survive the pressure? And is Sanchit Pradhan truly guilty—or cleverly framed?**

This book is without a doubt one of my 5-star reads of 2025. The plot is intricately crafted, keeping you on edge with every page. The suspense is masterfully executed—each character has a plausible motive, making it nearly impossible to guess the real killer until the final reveal.

The author’s blend of politics, romance, and thriller elements is pitch-perfect. While the cast of characters is large, each one is well-developed and contributes meaningfully to the plot.

Maya remains my absolute favorite. Even in her moments of vulnerability and outburst, her strength, wit, and unyielding spirit shine through. Her quiet but fierce love for Rey is heartwarming.

And Rey? He’s the quintessential book boyfriend—charming, composed, and endlessly supportive. He’s the kind of guy any girl would want waiting at home after a long, exhausting day.

**Overall, this is a fantastic read—smart, intense, and emotionally satisfying. Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys a gripping political suspense with a strong romantic core. You won’t be disappointed!**

After Reunion made us fall in love with Rey and his SP Saab, Maya, I was damn curious ki ab kya? But this book? OMG. Unputdownable.

This story hooks us from the very first page. An actor’s scandal leaked. The Prime Minister's sudden health crisis. A list of potential candidates shortlisted. And one by one, they get murdered. The suspect. Sanchit, the hot favorite for the PM’s post.

Maya, now an SSP, as sharp, bold and badaas as ever, gets called in by the CBI to take over the case. Also, Rey is brought in to clean up Sanchit’s mess. And again, Rey and Maya are on opposite sides, playing a chess game. Tu ek move, main counter move. Now begins a cat n mouse game of suspense, crime, political drama, n power play. And the chemistry between our leads. Crackling 🥵.

I was so happy to see how beautifully Rey and Maya’s relationship has evolved. From their flirty banter to their emotional dependence on the other, they really are the yin to each other’s yang. But when their love & loyalty are tested, tempers flare leading to hurtful words being spoken, that breaks something between them. Maya’s shock and guilt are no match for Rey’s silence. His heartbreak, pain, and vulnerability were laid bare in that quiet moment of silence, making me wanna hug him. 😞 Suvi, I was gutted to see them apart. I want them back together in the next one.

As someone who grew up reading murder mysteries, I soaked this one up. The plot, the setting, the characters, the pacing, the serpentine twists… it was all next level. I was constantly guessing, doubting, eliminating the suspects. And when the killer was finally revealed, I was like WHAT? 😱 No way I could have guessed the culprit and the motive.

Hats off to Suvi for this nail-biting finish. But wait, picture abhi baaki hai doston. The book comes full circle, starting and ending with the said actor. I can’t wait to see what Suvi delivers in her next. But knowing her, I know, I’m again gonna go like What? How? No way... 🤷

If thrillers are your jam, read this ASAP guys.

PS: Sanchit n Sarojini’s arc, superb. I hope they’re in the next.

Thank you, Suvika, for the ARC.

Suvika is known for her strong plot and characterization. And now, with this book, she has proved that she is skilled in writing a political murder mystery and a crime thriller with ease and perfection. You will see the hard work of the author that she has put in to collect every single minute detail that was needed to make this story a great read.

We all know Maya and Rey from The Reunion, Book 1 of the series. Now, in this, you will see their dedication towards their jobs and their relationship dynamics.
They both are assigned the same case, and both have different findings with their sources and investigation.

The upcoming PM candidate is accused of murder, and Rey is convinced that he is innocent and decides to shield him. Whereas Maya, being a relentless cop, leaves no stone unturned to prove him guilty. In this process, Maya and Rey have to face a pullback when it comes to their personal life. The twists get deeper and more twisted as the story grows; in many places, you will be confused about judging the right culprit and whom to support between Maya and Rey. You will also see some deep old rivalry coming out and giving you a new angle to the complete plot.
Every new twist brings new excitement and new doubts as to who the murderer is. The author has kept the flow smooth and interesting so that you enjoy this read with excitement and newfound energy.

The details of the book are top-notch. The twists are designed at proper intervals; characterization speaks volumes. I was engrossed in the plot until the end. Though the book left me on a cliffhanger, I think the wait is going to be worth it to finally reveal the suspense.

One thing that I couldn't digest was Maya and Rey's equation here; this case is going to be a testament to their togetherness, and whether their relationship survives the harshness of this political murder.

Pick up this book immediately and have a blasting weekend.

Review:-
This book is the second book in the series. This book involves politics. I can't explain how much I love this book. I love Rey and Maya so much. After reading the first book I was really looking forward to knowing what is gonna happen in the second book. As this book is mostly around politics Rey is appointed as handler for the PM candidate as he was being framed for the murders whereas Maya was appointed to find the culprit of murders. Now whether they will be able to solve this or there will be a huge problem created between them with Rey being involved again in the case Maya is solving?
The bond they share in this book is so amazing, I literally adored them. If you want someone please find a guy like Rey he loves her so much and knows her so well I can't help but be in awe with their compatibility. If a guy wants to find a girl please do find a girl like Maya, the way she loves him and is always there with him is so heart warming. There were some scenes when I was like damn Maya is so genius dude she is a mixture of beauty with brains, I mean both of their brain works are commendable.

It literally broke my heart while reading the end chapters. I mean why did it happen at the end(even though somewhere down the line I was anticipating that this might happen) I didn't want that to happen. Now I can't wait for the next book. Also while reading the book I got to know that the characters from other books were also included now I want to read their books as well.

If you are interested in reading the book with suspense, thriller, mystery and romance then this is the book for you.

After finishing Reunion, I was eager to dive into Scion to see how Reyansh Mittal and Maya Bansal’s lives unfolded following the chaos that turned Rey’s world upside down. The sequel didn’t disappoint, delivering an intense mix of personal turmoil and high-stakes investigation.

Maya Bansal, now an SSP, finds herself entangled in a politically charged case where prime ministerial candidates are being killed one after another. The CBI takes charge, and Maya becomes an integral part of the investigation. Meanwhile, Reyansh, the unshakable crisis handler, is roped into the political mess as he works to keep a candidate’s image spotless amid the turmoil.

While Rey remains as sharp and formidable as ever in his professional role, his personal struggles are evident, something inside him seems broken. Yet, his chemistry with Maya remains one of the highlights of the book. Their dynamic, filled with tension and mutual respect, adds an emotional depth that balances the intricate murder mystery.

The thriller aspect of Scion is gripping, with a tangled web of murders, hidden motives, and a lack of concrete evidence keeping readers on edge. The storytelling keeps you hooked as the mystery deepens, making it hard to predict the next turn.

The thriller aspect of Scion is gripping, with a tangled web of murders, hidden motives, and a lack of concrete evidence keeping readers on edge. The mix of suspense, political intrigue, and complex storytelling makes it a heavy read but still highly engaging.

What an AMAZING read!!!!!! 🤩🤩🤩
.
Let me tell you one thing first, if you haven't read this yet go read it. Trust me on this one you will love it 😭
.
I love the narrative so much. The detailing she put to the story was very impressive. I don't know how much she researched on the rifles and b*mbing substances the description blew my mind 🤯
.
The characterization was another highlight. Each and every character and how she balanced all those characters without confusing the reader is amazing 📖🤓 I am impressed how she can introduce a lot of characters and never one character felt extra or unnecessary.
.
I couldn't figure out the K*ller till the end. Even at the last chapters I have a huge inclination towards one character but then when I understood who it was.....I GASPED, My jaw dropped to the floor 😮 she maintains the suspense and thrill so well till the end of the story.
.
And Maya and Reyansh 😭😭😭😭 They were my favourite ❤️ why....whyyyy.... Why do you have to do this to me 😭😭😭 I was so happy for them in the beginning but.......
.
.
Anyways if you love to indulge yourself in a political drama where the PM candidate becomes the prime suspect and our Handler and SSP saab comes against each other, pick this book 📖. I actually loved the back and forth between them. It's not direct but How they decipher each other's thoughts and how they guess what the other is going to do is real fun. Can't wait for the next book 📚

Thank you Kalestial Media and Suvika ma'am for giving me this opportunity to read and review the second book in the series. Its confirmed, I have fallen in love with her writings!
The thing that I appreciate the most in this story line is how Reyansh and Maya appreciate each other's profession and try not to intervene. There were so many revelations that shocked me. My jaw was literally on the floor while reading the last 10% of the book. There was one such incident that compelled me to throw my phone (I was reading on the Kindle app) on the table, because of how mind blowing the climax was. The back and forth and the banter between the characters was fun to experience.
However, for the first 35% of the book, the pace was slow. Mostly because it was very descriptive. I mean I was okay with the background of each character, but not the architecture and the geography part. But that is just my opinion.
I am so freaking excited to read the third book in the series now. I have so many questions! And I am very eager to know what the future holds for the couple. This book ends in a cliffhanger. I would surely recommend this book, but you must have read the first book.

Okay this book omg, I couldn't put it down until I finished it, if you haven't read it yet, you need to run and grab a copy. If you love suspence and mystery. You are going thank me for this recommendation.

I love author's writing style. Reunion had already made me fall for Maya and Reyansh, but this book made me fall even harder. The amount of details the author puts into the story is genuinely impressive. Everything felt so real, and I was amused (okay, maybe a little shocked) by how accurately and vividly she described weapons.)

And I'm usually that annoying person who figures out the main suspect in the first few chapters. But this book? It had me guessing till the very end. And I did not see the real suspect coming. I gasped when the the we finally get to know who was the real suspect.

If you're a fan of political drama, mysteries, and romance that burns slow and deep, Scion is a must-read. It’s intense, and will keep you hooked till the last page. I can't wait to see what comes next in this series and what happens with rey and maya.

This book feels like slipping right back into the kind of Indian thrillers that keep you tense, alert, and emotionally hooked. The political chaos, shifting loyalties, and constant sense of danger create that familiar rush—the kind where you're flipping pages because you need to know whose truth will stand. Rey and Maya’s dynamic adds a sharp emotional edge; you can feel the push and pull between duty, loyalty, and something deeper brewing beneath the surface. The plot moves fast, but not in a messy way—more like a tightening noose that keeps you guessing. It has that very “Indian thriller” flavor: drama rooted in real-world politics, characters who feel flawed yet compelling, and twists that make your stomach dip. Overall, it leaves you with that restless, charged feeling you get after a good desi suspense ride—satisfied, but still thinking about the characters long after.

The author did it again. Honestly she writes perfect romantic thrillers. This was my first political thriller and I absolutely loved it. This book like the first one in the series had the perfect blend of romance and thriller in it. The chemistry between the Maya and Rey was so good, it was just perfect. And the twist at the end it was so unexpected, it literally made my jaw drop.

Overall I loved this book. The writing of the book is very simple and fast paced which makes it very engaging for the readers. I was literally so hooked from the very beginning. And after such an ending I cannot wait for the next book. If you love reading romanctic thrillers then this is the perfect book for you.

Just finished Scion by Suvika and I’m still reeling!
This political thriller had everything I love—intense suspense, layered characters, shocking twists, and a storyline that gripped me from page one.
Getting to see my favorite characters from Suvika’s earlier books again was such a treat—it felt like coming home but in the middle of a storm!
Rey and Maya’s dynamic kept me on edge, and the tension between truth, loyalty, and duty made this book unforgettable.
Suvika once again proves why she’s one of my favorite authors. Scion is a must-read for anyone who loves thrillers with heart and depth.

Following an exceptional first book of the series - #Reunion, I was fully prepared for this sequel, eager to discover how Reyansh had managed after the unsettling revelations and his self-imposed isolation from the world. I was hoping for the famous #REMA to have a joyful life together in this book, and the author did not disappoint me.
Love is never easy, it's a mixture of unbeatable feelings, secrets, truth, anger and regrets and forgiveness. What's love without hardships? Is that your mantra, Suvika??

#SCION I am truly grateful to the author for sharing an ARC copy with me. This book had made me utterly speechless, SUVIKA. A truly astonishing thriller.
Whenever I choose a candidate in my mind, he ends up dead. I began to sense that I needed to stop guessing, as my assumptions were harming the individual. It is that gripping. Very intriguing and suspenseful.

#1 Solid foundation. The author has skilfully managed the numerous characters, ensuring that readers remain engaged and not confused.
Introductions of characters were made even before the story begins, so The foundation is laid.
#2 I loved how elegantly the author has portrayed the world-famous couple #REMA. Every moment captured with these two lovebirds was truly heartwarming... some scenes are remarkably intricate with details... I was curious about what was going through the author's mind while crafting those scenes... I’m completely captivated.
#3 Thorough research. The research seemed to serve a purpose not just for the author, but equally for the reader. Thanks for all the info., I have thoroughly enjoyed the book.

We live in a world where influence surpasses diligence and skill.
Talent and intelligence are considered based on gender.

The author has skilfully shaped every detail. Fantastic.
A captivating tale filled with unexpected twists and turns, and giving a truly unique ending.
Oh wait!!, is it an ending???
