Cassian Veyne wasn’t built to kneel. Not to kings. Not to fate. And sure as hell not to the flameborn heir who threatened to gut him with a single glare.
Seraphine Drakar was prophecy wrapped in leather and fire—a dragon shifter bred for war, crowned in legacy, and sharp enough to burn anyone stupid enough to get close. And yet, when the Hollow stirred beneath the bones of the realm, it was Cassian the empire called.
Stormfire pulsed in his veins. Outlawed. Untamed. Dangerous.
She hated him on sight. He didn’t care. Because from the second she aimed her blade at his throat, he knew one thing for damn sure—
He was going to ruin her.
Bound by prophecy. Hunted by monsters. Entangled in a quest to reforge the only weapon that could seal the breach between worlds… they were supposed to work together.
Instead, they fought. They bled. They burned.
And every time she barked an order, he imagined what her voice would sound like begging instead.
She was the heir to a dying kingdom. He was the bastard fire built to destroy it. And gods help them both—he liked it when she drew blood.
A simply wonderful addition to series, wonderful characters and story that captivates Seraphine Drakar was a prophecy, a dragon shifter that was created for war and able to burn any foes that threatened and now it seems that the Hollow stirred beneath the bones have called Cassian. Cassian has the Stormfire pulsing in his veins, Outlawed, Untamed dragons and the first time that Seraphine had seen him she had despised and hated him, and yet the first time that he saw her and she had threatened his life he had known one thing for definite and that was that he would make her his. He is determined to make her his and she will fight him, they will bleed together and they will burn together as they attempt to save their world. This is a captivating read and I guarantee that you will be totally blown away by this fantastic read. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.
As the Drakar House heir, Seraphine was born for battle. When her father’s seers predict the awakening of the Hollow, she is forced into a dangerous quest to find the broken pieces of the Heartblade fragments and reforge the blade that is supposed to save them all. But all is not as it seems, especially Cassian, the outcast mercenary handpicked to accompany Seraphine on her journey.
This story showcased the darker side of Milly Taiden’s brilliant mind. The world building was excellent, as always. But it held more blood and battles than her usual stories, balanced with the romance that she writes so well.
I really enjoyed this story and hope we see more of Seraphine and Cassian in later stories.
Claimed By Flame by Cyn Blade & MillyTaiden. Seraphine is sent to destroy the Hollow by finding the Heartblade fragments, reuniting them. She is given Cassian, mercenary, outcast to guide her. The Hollow contain many creatures that will try to kill them. On the journey Seraphine and Cassian fall in love which is not supposed to happen which her father tries to stop by killing Cassian. Already hating her father, Seraphine fights with everything she has to stop her father.
This was an entertaining read. I adore dragons, so this book was right up my alley. Seraphine and Cassian are perfect characters, and they complement each other well. I enjoyed reading their story, going on this adventure with them. It was filled with romance, fate, suspense, danger, and of course, a bit of steaminess.
The author has delivered another fantastic, magical story. I look forward to reading whatever comes next.
Very different kind of story from Milly's sweet romances. This one is dark, gritty, and cuts like a blade. Seraphine is the warrior daughter of the Drakar Emperor. The Whitefire she wields is a lethal weapon. Cassian Veyne learned to fight in the back alleys of the Secret Borderlands. He is nobody. He has no House, just a bad reputation and deadly Stormfire. Summoned to Drakar Citadel, he knows nothing good awaits.
A prophecy, a shattered blade, a princess, and an outcast guide. What could go wrong? I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.
I very much enjoyed this darker, more earthy read by Milly Taiden and Cyn Blade. Seraphine and Cassian really had a struggle determining who would come out on top. No holds barred, action packed and a page turner.
For all my fellow paranormal romance lover's out there, this is a great new series to start. It's got all the heat you could ask for. I did receive this book as an ARC, but this is my honest review.
