Simple, classic Chinese faire, written by the Taiwanese Julia Child: Fu Pei-mei. I love a recipe book with good pictures, and this one has plenty. Plus, all of the recipes are written in both Chinese and English.

Used to have this years ago, waiting for a new copy in the mail. Simple recipes which never fail, and this time I'm going to try experimenting a little with some ingredients I couldn't get before - doubanjiang, etc.

Absolutely should be required in a Taiwanese-American's kitchen.
