I am giving an honest review of this novella by author Mia Fox and originally for Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock This is book 2 of the Chasing Shadows book series by the author. This is my first time reading anything by author Mia Fox but reading this book makes me want to pick up book 1 of the Chasing Shadows series.

Ella Logan is having a time dealing with the sudden death of her fiance Nate, but when she gets lost on the nature trails they use walk on Nate and her friend/doctor Ethan try and come to her rescue. Ella needs to learn how to trust again, in herself and in others who care about her.

WOW this book has a smooth flow to it and the 3 main characters, Ella, Nate and Ethan are meshed together and their interaction makes the whole story.

This book is a great romance story and it is best to read book 1 of the series because this book starts where book 1 leaves off. I give this novella 5 Fangs out of 5 for a review rating.

I received this book for an honest review,
I recommend that if you haven't read Believe Chasing Shadows Book one that you read it first...
This story begins where book one ends and I will say the book contained more trials and emotions but completely captivated me. The chapters flowed well with the continuing story of Ella, Nate and Ethan. After being stuck on a dangerous mountain trail, both Ella and Ethan have much to over come by way of hypothermia and snake bites not forgetting the emotional roller coaster Ella is on after her recent loss, but Nate is there watching over them, as much as a ghost can...
Can this trio make it through and what happens in the end. You will just have to read it and find out...
The author wrote this story and held me transfixed with her descriptive scenery, I felt like I was there with them.
I highly recommend this book to all romance readers..... (Side note you may want a box of tissues).

This was a great end to a very turbulent story. Ella's journey to heal and get over Nate's death puts her and Ethan in grave danger. But I don't think either of them could have overcome their past baggage without this ordeal. And Nate's ghost is there to keep them all safe... relatively speaking. This love triangle gets intense. Make sure you keep some tissues handy.

Mia Fox has certainly outdone herself with this series. I dare say it is probably my most favorite of her works. I wish we could read a little more about this trio!!

When faced with a difficult decision, trust is sometimes the only thing you can do.

I love the cover. Anther beautiful moment filled with a sense of mystery, the mystical, innocence and danger.

Unfortunately, the story never came together for me.

Ella is still struggling over her love for Nate and her new emotions for her psychologist Ethan. She must decide whether there is room in heart for more than the memories of her past.

For me, Believe and Trust should have been one novel. Believe set the story up (finishing in a cliff-hanger ending) with an expectation Trust would give the readers a conclusion. One cannot be read without the other. Also, Trust has way too much retelling of scenes from Believe. This is a direct result of splitting what should have been one novel into two. This is a huge negative.

Trust starts with Ella back on her way to the woods after leaving Ethan behind. She’s now dressed in a sundress and sweater instead of cut-off shorts and a pullover. (Not sure when that happened.) It’s getting dark, but she insists on continuing into the woods. I can accept that because of her state of mind.

Nate is with her and warns her of the danger. She ignores him and blocks him out.
What I can’t accept is Ella’s decision to continue further into the woods when she herself acknowledges how dangerous it is to hike alone at night. She reaches the most dangerous path on the mountain, knows people have died on it, and decides to continue despite being unprepared. No food. No equipment. Wrong clothing. And leaves the people that care about her in the dark.

At this point in the story I am so frustrated, I figure Ella deserves whatever happens to her. Her psychologist explains why nothing can happen between them (finally following his ethical standards as a doctor). She runs away. Instead of dealing with her emotions, she now participates in behavior that screams of immaturity, overly-dramatic, self-centered traits.

If Ella had been true to one set of emotions, I would have understood. Her pain over losing Nate caused her to abuse the sleeping pills so she could be with Nate in her dreams and then in her reality. I sooo get that. But she doesn’t keep with her relationship with Nate. If I loved someone that much, it would take a whole lot longer than a month and a whole lot more than the few sessions she had with Ethan to place Ethan in Nate’s place.

I understand grief and even love have their own process and timetable. I guess I just expected a more believable progression and outcome. Then again, I’ve been married for 27 years to my soul mate, so maybe I can’t suspend my own belief system when it comes to love and moving on.

First things first! This is the SECOND book in the series. If you really want to understand and get the full effect of this series you must start with book 1 "Believe" this is the second book in the series "Chasing Shadows" by Mia Fox.
Rabidfaery gives this book 3 1/2 stars. It tells a very emotional tale that while you may never have a paranormal equivalent. if you've loved and lost it will have you thinking a lot and rooting for that point of happiness for both Ella & Ethan. It also really makes you love Nate.
I thought that the adventure added a lot to this book. With all the emotional intensity it was another wild and suspenseful experience to see if they might all end up like Nate and the story could've got an even more confusing love triangle.
"Trust" is a novella length book that will have you on an emotional roller coaster right up to the very end. If you're a fan of romance that has a blend of paranormal quirk than pick up "Trust" by Mia Fox. This was the first series I've read by her and I'll absolutely be checking out more!

Grammar/editing: A – near perfect

This is the second book in Chasing Shadows series. They do need to be read in order.

A confused Ella is torn between her memories and her desires, her past and her future, her Nate and her Ethan, a ghost and a man. She knows she loves them both, but should loyalty or life win out? Ethan has blurred the lines between patient and passion. Will healing the patient open the door for passion? Nate, only wants Ella happy and safe, even if that means that she leaves him to be with Ethan.

The good: I loved this story. Nate is an aware ghost. He and Ella each privately always knew (see BELIEVE) that their time together couldn’t last forever. He had told her that he would be there as long as she needed him…and he is. It was obvious that Ms. Fox either knows this area of CA very well, or she did a lot of excellent research. I love that Ethan is an Eagle Scout (once an Eagle, always an Eagle). I am very proud of my own Eagle!

The bad: At times, there was too much explaining and not enough showing, mental introspection describing why the character was doing whatever they were doing. The “a-ha” moment could, and probably should, be done this way, but prior to that “show, not tell” is the better writing tool.

The beautiful: Ms. Fox always has such beautiful covers on her books and this one is no exception. If you haven’t yet, you should take a moment to look. In the story, her descriptions of flora, fauna, and local Indian lore added a beautiful layer of richness to a wonderful love story. I liked the flashbacks to scenes from the previous book, to give you that “remember when” moment that applies to what is happening now.

Thank you Mia Fox!

I was blessed with a free digital copy of this book, and have chosen of my own volition to leave this review.

This book should be read in conjunction with the first book in the series "Believe," which ended with a huge cliff hanger. "Trust" completes the story. Ella, journeys through the loss of her boyfriend, and finds hope for the future with someone new. The mental and physical barriers that she must overcome to learn to trust in someone else is heart breaking at points.

This was another quick read. I finished it in less then two hours.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book picked up where Believe left off. Ella is alone on a hiking trail in the mountains. She needs time to figure out what's going on in her life. I still don't like Ella's sister. Nate or Ethan. Living or dead. How do you let go of an old love and embrace a new love? Again a very emotional read. I was again confused at times. Was Nate really there, or was it just the hypothermia talking? Boy, the obstacles that both Ella and Ethan faced in the wilderness were crazy. Everything that could possibly happen did happen. We had falls, snakes, coyotes, low temperatures. Everything. That seemed to make the story less believable. I also found the blurb to be misleading. It talks about her going off on a dangerous journey, well she was already lost in the wilderness, she just decides to keep hiking on a trail she and Nate had talked about.

Overall, this was again a good story. I liked seeing where the characters ended up. I liked that they finally let go of the past. I loved the ending. It was perfect. One last thought, the length of this book made me wonder why it was broken up into two books. They could have easily been combined into one book.

I enjoyed this read. It was a fast read read and I wasnt able to put it down. if you haven't read book one in the series I wouldnt recommend reading this one first. As the story picks right back up from book 1 . This story has heart ache , love and loss . The characters are well written and the plot line is different which is what you want. If you could lost the love of your life and could have him in the after life wouldnt you want him? but what happens when you find your heart pulled in the direction of a living love would you go there? These are the very questions our leading lady Ella has to ask her self. Ella is strong willed and maybe a little bit too much as her heart and actions have caused her and Ethan to become in great danager. This is a fantastic love story because it isnt as simple as it should be. This is well worth the 5 star rating.

One of the best things about this book, for me, is that it made me think. It made me wonder how I would react if I were in a similar situation such as the one as Ella. Would I be able to let go and move on if my significant other moved on, even if he blessed it and/or encouraged it. Or would I struggle like Ella.

It was difficult at first going between the three voices, but I soon found the rhythm of the story and managed to lose myself in their stories.

I truly don’t know what I would do in Ella’s situation. This is another instance, in which I wish I could have a bit more. It almost moved too quickly for me. I wanted to savor their stories a bit longer. Regardless, it was still well-written and still made me think. I’m looking forward to reading more from Mia. Unfortunately, I still don’t know what I’d do if I was in that situation. Let me know what you’d do, once you’ve read it.

Ella's journey through healing continues in this race against time. Through the grief and confusion of her feelings for Nate and Ethan, Ella escapes on a treacherous mountain path. Unfortunately, natural elements are all working against her, as well as for Ethan, who is following her to save her.

Ethan also has a journey to take to recover from some trauma from his past; he realizes he's falling for Ella but isn't sure how to respond to his feelings since he's legally her doctor.

The adventure and building romance is well-written and keeps you riveted to your book. If you love tales with high action and a fast-paced plot, this might not be the book/series for you since it's more of an emotional journey.

Received a complimentary copy to read and review. I really liked this one. It pulls you in from the very beginning. It has some great twists and turns to it. The characters are well written. The plot is great. Ella is the main character. She has recently lost her boyfriend Nate. Now she thinks she’s going crazy because she sees him. She’s afraid to tell anyone because she thinks Nate will go away. To deal with everything she leaves town only to disappear while away now people are out searching for her. Want to know what happens grab a copy you won’t be disappointed. I look forward to reading more of Mia’s books.

Mia Fox takes us on a rollercoaster of a read with Ella's journey and struggle with Nate's death and her feelings for Ethan. This second book is even more turbulent than the first, but it really conveys just how troubled and twisted Ella's emotions truly are. I thought it was a good conclusion to this trio's story, and I hope you give it a read.

I received a copy of this short story in exchange for a honest review. This is book two in the series. The story line continues where book one stops. The main character continues to fight her grief as she falls deeper in love with her counselor. She continues to see her boyfriends ghost but looses touch as she works past her grief.

I enjoyed this book, but not as much as the first. Ella was too stubborn and acting childish. I don't understand how she switches up her feelings so quickly between Nate and Ethan. It was also a bit repetitive in some parts. I will still seek out other books by this author because the first book was so full of heartfelt emotion.
