the original tokyo tarareba girls BREATHES life into every messy decision the characters make and makes it authentic. showcasing how although the characthers' decisions aren't perfect, they're at least plausible in the moment. THIS STORY HOWEVER, sucks in terms of justifying the questionable, sometimes outright ridiculously stupid decisions the characters settle on. also the characters are just weaker outright than in the original story this sequel desperately tries to tie itself to. akiko is my favorite manga writer after ai yazawa and well... i was disappointed by this seemingly outrageously bad series in a sea of wonderful works by the writer. but i know in the future miss mam is surely to make up for it!
