As a thirty-year-old single Virgo, Amy likes her life just the way it is, thank you very much. Juggling being an administrative assistant to a smelly, temper-tantrum-throwing ogre with a secret life writing paranormal romance novels and squeezing in her out-of-town werewolf boyfriend can be demanding but she manages to keep her red-headed temper in check – most of the time.

Amy is faced with her greatest challenge yet when her magical powers manifest at the same time as her boss is kidnapped. As a strong Earth witch, her temper can cause disastrous things to happen. Can she adapt to the changes in her life and get her boss back without killing herself (or anyone else) in the process?

Deborah J. "DJ" Martin left the frozen tundra (Minnesota) many moons ago and now lives in the north Georgia mountains with her husband, their crazy cats and numerous woodland creatures. If she's not clickety-punching numbers for her accounting clients or writing, you can probably find her in the garden, visiting her grandchildren or in her recliner with her nose stuck in a book.

In this second book in the Ogre's Assistant series, Amy struggles with the manifestations of her late blooming witch powers while having to deal with the plots and subplots within the fascinating world of humans and nonhumans. I so love Amy's snarky dialogue and Fudge's attitude. There were some surprises in the story that I did not expect, like with Amy's werewolf boyfriend, Tony.

I really never thought I would get interested in this genre, but the author has hooked me into the story. Looking forward to reading the third book when it becomes available.
