"Otaku Blue" is one of those comic books where everything looks good on the paper. Synopsis, setting, great cover and then you start reading. Page, ten, twenty. You wonder where things went wrong and how this managed to get published. Maybe if the story was worked over 3-4 more issues, if there was more police story with murders, more suspense. That's a big maybe. Awful ending.

Oh nooo!! That ending which messed up all the story. Really, it started well then it got very bad. Here, we really got bad messages and critiques about the Lolitas and Otakus' culture. You can see it from how Kotaro treats Maiko and at the end, what she says to Asami that was really dumb.

Good art, average at best script, but with some interesting otaku-related details.

March 2022. Read this short mystery graphic novel from Europe Comics set in Japan about a woman researching Otaku for her sociology thesis, and unintentionally crossing paths with an ongoing serial killer investigation.

Volume 2 of 2. Got it on Hoopla for one of my free rentals/borrows for February, and read it recently right before I ran out of time. It was fine, nothing amazing.
The weirdest part was reading something stylized as manga that read from left to right!

I wonder if I can convince my younger brother that translating this into English for me is good practice for his French lessons . . . xD
