I think Marina Diamandis is one of my absolute musicians, singer, and songwriters.

I have been listening to her music for years now and I have been and am a loyal fan.

What has attracted me to her music has been her deep lyrics, lyrics with meaning and self-expression, on top of her in my opinion spectacular vocals, and creative expression in multiple aspects, for example visually through music videos.

I feel that her music represents the different phases of her life, a balance between authenticity, self-expression and privacy, as well as protection.

I think her poetry has a similar style of depth and meaning, while she is guarding her privacy, which to me makes perfect sense.

I am feeling that I connected to her words and feelings she wrote about, to the experiences I could relate to. I believe that I truly enjoyed her collection of poems, I believe that I enjoyed this allowance of peaking into her feelings in a way that felt closer than lyrics.

I want to keep her collection of poems, to potentially re-read in the future and I would undeniably recommend.

I have been a huge fan of Marina Diamandis for almost fifteen years, and I was so excited when she announced that she was publishing a poetry book. EAT THE WORLD is a beautiful and emotionally raw collection of poems that touch upon dreams both realized and unrealized, love, solitude, self-discovery, personal transformation, and more. If you are a MARINA fan who loves her unique style of songwriting, you will likely love this book!

I thought to start reading poetry, I'd try with someone I knew the work of well and their themes. Who better than Marina who has consistently been one of my top artists for ages. And I was still in for a suprise! I'm glad she made this book, both for her to put thoughts down and work through things on paper and for me to be able to read and relate. Moments with uncomfortable and horrific imagery of loss and pain walking alongside growth and acceptance. Some of my favourites were Fizz, Million Tiny Knives, Land of Limbs, Tiny Leopards and Cocoon. I have much more to say but I'll let the thoughts from this book buzz around my head longer. I borrowed this from my local library but I'll definitely pick up my own copy as I'd like to re-read. I think I can read poetry a bit better now and will dive deeper as I go. Thanks Marina!
