In the Arms of family is the sixth book in Chris Philbrook's Adrian's Undead Diary series. If you aren't caught up in your reading, I would look away now, because it's nearly impossible to not include spoilers at this point.
I know I say this with every new release, but the toe pusher thing never gets old. In fact, I've caught myself using it in conversation when things go wrong and just shrug at the person I've said it to when they give me a confused look. The tone of the series has gotten much darker and tension rises as the key players run out of time to save humanity.
Philbrook delivered exactly what I hoped he would. Much more time in book six was devoted to learning about, and following, Michelle and Kevin. Some explanation was given as to their roles as the savior and the warden. And it was a surprise to find something so literal behind Kevin's title, since there has been so much mystery and intrigue to the story thus far, it was a nice break.
Character progression continues to flow nicely, and Adrian must find a way to come to terms with Gilbert's betrayal. Death is not the end for many, and everyone has a role to play. This remains one of the best series I have ever read, and I, once again, am waiting impatiently for the next release.
