My brutal Bratva boss took my virginity and knocked me up. He’s an absolute nightmare to work with, but I have to obey him. He points out my mistakes, then plays with my innocent plus-size curves. And before I know it, I’m pregnant with my Bratva boss’s baby.
He’s the muscle of the Bratva, the one who always wins physical fights. I’m no match for him. He completely overpowers me. I might be a decade younger than him, but I’m determined to at least win our verbal fights. Until he shuts me up by kissing me into oblivion.
I’ve always been prim and proper, but his tattoos and piercings are getting under my skin. I know he’s just playing with me, like he does with a lot of women. But my body is getting addicted to his rough play. My curves are obeying his every brutal command.
Will my Bratva boss be the baby daddy I need?
The members of the Vadim Bratva rule the city and own the ground you walk on. They will burn the city to the ground if they don’t get their heart’s desire. So there’s only one Open yourself and give them what they want. Or have them take it anyway.
Veda Rose loves getting lost in the intense, dark and suspenseful universes she creates. Although her characters can often be complicated and twisty, at the core of it all is deep and profound love.
Born and raised in Portland, Veda Rose has always been an introvert who could often be found deeply engrossed in a book. Or multiple books. So it was only natural that at some point she would embark on her own journey as a writer to bring to life her wild imagination.
When she is not writing or thinking out her next tormented love fantasy, she enjoys hiking and exploring unfamiliar places with her furry companions.
This reads like a first draft with no organization besides the fact that the story starts at one point in time and ends at a later date. The MFC is not likable and seems to cause dramatic scenes for no reason. The MMC is kind of clueless, not possessive, no has any dark desires. The relationship between the two is strange. The writer does not know how to write plus characters, nor does she understand what a dark romance is. At best, this is a mafia light story as it does kind of have characters in the mafia. The writer has no understanding of character development or the psychological reason behind why people do anything, much less the processing one may take to fall in love. The writer also would not write scenes, like the proposal. Instead, she does a short flash back, so there is no journey the reader takes so we can fall in love with the character. The writer had weird narration that over explained what was happening with the characters when dialog between the characters would have been a better way to develop the story; show the read through actions instead of just telling us. This was a very teenage-ish story, too. There is no real world building and very confusing most of the time. Plus, the writer got this wrong like pencil skirts shwashing; they don't because they are too tight, you need a flow skirt for that.
I finished but do not recommend it until the writer does a lot of re-writes and an editor takes a look.
Why this so highly rated I don’t know. It was boring as all get-out. The main female character has a terrible inner monologue going about her weight and being unworthy. This never changes. She sticks to her self loathing all the way till the end.
The main male lead is a “playboy” who never really plays around. He’s in his 40’s and scared to love or settle down. Totally into the girl from the get-go but a major emotional wimp.
Then the family all living together is intriguing and at least brings some depth to the male leads character, but then in the end he buys his girl a house away from his close knit family. Totally doesn’t make sense.
Yeah, I just finished the book and can’t remember their names. It was that boring. Where can I get my time back? I should have DNF’d but I wasn’t near WiFi and couldn’t download a new book. Lesson learned.
This is the 9th book in the series and it is very good. The H and his brothers work for the Vadim family, he is considered as the enforcer. The h works for this family at one of their casinos, they consider her family. The H has been attracted to her ever since he met her and she likes him as well. She is attacked and is taken under his watch, their chemistry is off the charts. The plot consists of attempts of murder, kidnapping, rival factions and lots of hot sex along with an unexpected pregnancy. Both struggle with trust issues but in the end they found their HEA.
I enjoyed this story as pippa and Abe navigated their work relationship and then their personal one. Banter and constant bickering was their foreplay. Abe can off as a the older wise cracking player to pippa's grumpy sunshine personality. She was grumpy with him but happy with everyone else. Pushing each other's buttons was part of the course. But when danger falls in her path, Abe finally finds the words she's been hoping he would say, to keep their relationship going. Good read.
Read it straight through nonstop. It was sweet, with complications, intriguing. Emotional, loving, demanding, passionate. Two people meeting with emotional scars making communication hard. Scared to put themselves out there because not feeling worthy. Which truly happens in life more than you would think.
This book was smart, thrilling, charming and beyond expectation. I’m thrilled with this book and series. This author understands her audience and the material hits the spot!
