What would you do with a second Chance in life? After growing up as one of the unseen foster children of the ImperiuM, one young man gets a life changing opportunity. Unfortunately, has he just traded one dark world for another?

Second Chance is the first in a series of short stories taking place in the Icarus Risen universe. This story is about the Langrad contract mentioned in the first book, Flight of Icarus. This story explores the nature of ImperiuM society. Though Jubal isn’t a main character, he makes an appearance.

About the author

Alex Alexander’s alter ego is known as Harry Alexander. After a building collapsed around him in 2001 the Army sent him packing. He traveled the country working as an outdoor educator, mountain guide, and counselor. After vowing to give up social work for good, he went back to school and studied bio-technology. He currently resides in the northwest with his wife and son. When not writing he makes his living as, you guessed it, a social worker.
