“The best way for me to protect ye, and yer daughter is if we wed, lass.”
With his clan looking to him for salvation, Laird Thomas cannot afford any distractions. Until the most dangerous one is brought before his feet. And she looks so good on her knees…
Astrid may be on the run but there is nothing she wouldn’t do for her daughter. Even if that means marrying the most devilish Laird.
She must never surrender to her new husband. For Astrid knows better than to trust a man. So why does Thomas’ touch make her yearn for everything she can never have?
*Wedded to the Twisted Highlander is a steamy Scottish Medieval Historical romance novel of 80,000 words (around 400 pages) written by Maddie MacKenna and published by Cobalt Fairy.
No cheating, no cliffhangers, lots of steam and a happy ending.
A story that will transport you to the hills of Scotland where you will meet a strong heroine in Astrid Fulton, a healer running from an evil Laird with her young niece/daughter, Melody, in tow right into the protection of another Laird, Thomas McFair. Astrid is caught stealing bread to feed Melody after escaping the clutches of Laird Jensen Challum’s men. She is brought before Laird McFair for her stealing but fate will smile on her when her healing powers are made known and her punishment for stealing is to be the elderly and dying Tavish McFair’s healer. Yet she must get back to Melody, so she attempts an escape only to be caught by Laird McFair himself and now she must confess all and he will never be the same. Laird Thomas McFair, in my opinion, does not live up to the image of “twisted” as this title implies, because although he may be firm and possibly considered grouchy with his clan he was thoughtful, considerate, loyal to his family and so very loving and protective of Astrid and Melody. Now Astrid was a little “twisted” but only in the sense that she carried emotional scars from the past that effected her ability to trust and love. I thought the chemistry, the whole energy between these two, throughout this book was marvelous. The author gave their encounters of just closeness, breaths, a kiss, a touch such a deep sensuality that I could truly feel their desire for one another. It does get a little steamier as their relationship progresses and I thought the fact that is revealed about Thomas was rather endearing. This was one of those books that once I started to read it I just couldn’t put it down. I am hoping that his brother Reid will get his own book, after what he did in this one, I believe he deserves to tell his story.
Astrid is on the run, hiding from a ruthless man, she will do what she has to in order to take care of her daughter. Laird Thomas has a lot on his shoulders, if the lass that was caught stealing really can help his father it will make a big difference. When he catches her running away the moment she is left alone, he pursues her, only to discover one of her secrets. Bringing her back to the palace to continue to use her services as a healer, he promises to keep her safe from her pursuer. This book was a real great read, it was written well and the characters were very well fleshed out and their development was authentic. Great read and a great new edition to the series. Grab it and you won’t regret it!
Thomas was a laird. Astrid was trying to get something for her niece to eat. She was declared a thief and the Laird came forward to punish her. Astrid was found to be a healer and the Lairds father needed one. He said that she could stay there if she helped with his father but she needed to go back to the village and get her niece. So they did and she helped the Lairds father when other healers did not. This is a great story of love, hate, kindness.
Another wild great book by Maddie MacKenna of the Highlands.
Running from a cruel Laird that felt he owned her, Astrid and her niece were caught for stealing bread. Now captured by Laird Thomas and on the run as well, Astrid agrees to be a healer, to take care of his father. Together they work through attacks and a blooming love. Awesome book that pulls you in to their lives.
Such an interesting and exciting story. The characters were amazing especially Melody. Such a little imp. Her enthusiastic nature catches you off your guard at times. The adventure was amazing. Poor Astrid had a very bad life before meeting Thomas. Reid was another person who you just couldn't help to love. Thanks for your story!
Astrid is hiding her niece Melody from an evil Laird. She meets L byaird Thomas and instead of punishing her for stealing food he hires her to take care of his father because she knows healing. It is a great story and one part will surprise you. A must read for this series.
A story with danger, adventure and suspense will entertain you and keep you wondering what will happen next. You will sympathize with the characters as they work through their troubles. If you like a bit of adventure then this is a good one for you.
I think Melody is my fav. What an adorable child. This was a very quick read because I couldn’t stop reading. I think that the brother now needs his own book.
Be ready to be wisped away to the Scottish Highlands where one strong heroin takes on unimaginable challenges winning a Laird for herself. Maddie MacKenna has done it again, be prepared to be wowed.
Loved this excellent story of Thomas and Astrid, an excellent storyline and characters. A handsome Laird and a thief looking for safety for her and her daughter. This book is well worth reading.
I don’t understand the title of this book. He was far from twisted. She on the other hand?!? The dialect almost sounded Shakespearean. It was an interesting read. Can’t wait to read the extended epilogue. Thank you my dear.
This story had it all. It had a growing passion, an evil man, and a real twist. It also has a climatic ending. Melody is a delightful child. Thomas got the love that his parents had. Another wonderful story.
Astrid comes to Laird McFairs castle after stealing bread from a local and Thomas thought they could have a marriage of convenience to keep her from Laird Chalian. He comes after her. Thomas and Astrid have fallen in love and the final battle is something quite unreal.
What a great read about a woman determined to save herself and her niece. Thomas was a leader and Laird who adored his family and loved his sick father dearly. The struggle to make their lives work and find love among the way, great read and I highly recommend it.
The story had good moments but I found trouble with it. The story kept repeating itself. There were scenes that puzzled me. Hide and seek game was one.. Oh what happened to Thomas's dad. Is he still alive when the baby came.
I'm a lover of Historical Romance and I have read a plenty and I do mean a plenty. Now have you ever read a book and wonder if this is by the same author who wrote the previous stories you've read, well I have to wonder.🤔 🤔 hmmm ?
What a fight Thomas & Astrid have to be free of the evil Laird Chalium. Heartwarming to see the love develop between these two warriors. Melody wins a happy family to grow up in.
Wow, what a wonderful story. Truly a beautiful read, I had all I could do to put it down just to go to bed and sleep. So if you pass this one here up it’s your loss not mine.
Enthralling and romantic story full of excitement, I loved the strong characters and the wonderful storyline, I enjoyed reading this very much and highly recommend.
