Destinations describes a continuation of life experiences, such as Danielle Pitter’s first year of driving, being a first-time author, and a closer look into other relationships, like family, friendships and romance. What she has learned from writing these poems is that it's okay to express emotions that others may find uncomfortable, like hurt, heartbreak, and disappointment. This book is for anyone who needs to unpack their messy thoughts in the same way as she has.
Born and raised in New Jersey, Danielle has been writing stories since early childhood. What started from with innocent fairy-tales in first grade turned into a growing passion that was always one step behind her. After graduating from the University of Phoenix in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Journalism, she started her writing journey as a journalist for entertainment media outlets like TV After Dark, Fangirlish and Glitter Magazine. Her first poetry novel Reality Check is available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
Currently, she’s a writer on her own website, PoetryBooksYA.com, and a graduate student assistant from Rutgers University’s Master of Information program at the School of Communication and Information at New Brunswick Libraries. Additionally, she is a member of the New Jersey Library Association.
Love the aesthetic, the transparency and rawness of this book of poetry.
The poems within it are heartfelt, powerful, and moving.
Definitely recommended as a go-to book when you need a break from work, family, or tasks. Each piece allows you to dip in and out while bringing perfect little poems.
This book brought me comfort. Danielle Pitter has a way of really bringing what she sees and feels to life with her poetry. At times it felt as if these words are my own thoughts and feelings out loud.
Danielle's prose is great and the poems touch readers' hearts. Amazing read. This will have you hanging on Pitter's every word.
