*Warning* Strong language and sexual situations. Ends in MAJOR cliffhanger. Not for the faint of heart. :)

Beautiful heiress Dalilah Gallagher, a former child art prodigy, has lost her way. Harsh criticism in her formative years has left her floundering and without the artistic voice that once centered her life. Now, at the age of 20, she has spent the last nine years trying to reclaim what she lost.

Her struggles lead her to the nude-modeling world in New York City, where she hopes she will find her passion for art again. What she finds is surprising: Her artistic voice isn't gone, merely misplaced.

Luke Roberts has a different problem. Raised by a solid, working-class fisherman in Maine, Luke is a gifted artist struggling to get a foothold in the busy New York City art scene. His gifts attract the attention of a wealthy benefactor, Blake Nottingham, who finds himself fascinated with Dalilah. Nottingham commissions Luke to provide him with a piece of art: A painting of Dalilah.

As the two young artists fall in love, Dalilah finds her artistic voice once more, so she'll do anything to help Luke find the prominence he deserves. This leads to a dangerous game of deceit that puts Dalilah in Nottingham's clutches when she tries to manipulate him into helping Luke.

Nottingham isn't easily manipulated, though, and things go seriously awry for Dalilah. What happens when the manipulated becomes the manipulator?

Will Dalilah's lies cause her to lose the one person that means everything her?

This is a full-length, 65,000 word novel. Approximately 200 pages.

**JOSIE'S REVIEW**

This is my first time reading a book from this author, and I am glad that I got the opportunity to do so with Fearless. Fearless is a quick read, but it is packed with drama, passion and mind games. This story is written beautifully and flows and blends perfectly. Luke and Delilah are characters that are developed well and as a reader I connected with them and were intrigued with them. The story is told in dual POV’s which I really love because not only do we get to hear from both sides but we also get an understanding of how they both feel.

Delilah’s character is one that I really enjoyed reading. When she was a young she was an artistic genius but along the way she has lost her voice and inspiration. Now an adult Delilah is now living in New York City without the help of her very well off parents. In order to survive and in the hopes of finding her magic again, Delilah takes on part time nude modeling jobs with the local Universities. She is trying hard to find her way in life, a purpose and loose her fear of her inner critic. She is happy with her life.

Delilah has no problem with men, but when she sees Blake Nottingham, CEO of Nottingham Industries, she immediately notices that he looks cruel and demanding, but that is not enough to keep her away. When they hook up Delilah gets more than she bargained for. Blake is into heave BDSM and their first time was nothing that she experienced in the past. Delilah had planned never to see Blake again, but fate or shall I say Mr. Nottingham had other plans. Blake is obsessed with Delilah, there is no other way to put it. He has been watching her for some time and he has no intention of letting her get away. Blake hires a young up and coming starving artist Luke to do a naked portrait of Delilah for his eyes only.

Luke, you will love him. He sits behind Delilah on the bus and was memorized with her beauty, when he goes home and draws her from memory. There is nothing, sick or pervy about this. It is clean and innocent. He is struggling to make ends meet so when he gets a call for an interview with Nottingham Industries’ he is shocked but also desperate. He gets offered $1000 to draw a portrait of his muse. When Luke and Delilah come face to face there is an attraction and a pull that neither can deny, but since he was hired to do a job he doesn’t want to strain their business relationship. They are similar in so many ways and soon Luke can’t deny that they are soul mates.

Delilah is not a selfish person she sees that Blake can help Luke and open doors for his talent so she decides to see Blake in the hopes of helping his career. She thought the game would be easy, no sex, just dates until Luke’s career kicks off. Her parents and friends warned her that Blake is a dangerous man and to steer clear of him before it’s too late. Just when things with Luke and Delilah are right, Blake learns the truth and now he is the one to play THE GAME. Will Delilah and Luke find their HEA? Will Blake’s obsession with Delilah cost her, her true love Luke? What price will Delilah have to pay Blake for her game? I really liked this story a lot so I went and grabbed the 2nd book since it’s out already. I can’t wait to see where life will take these 3 characters next.

*this book was given to me in exchange for an honest review by the author*

My Thoughts: Fearless was an interesting story about a woman who just wants to feel again, and the man who helps her.

The Story: We follow Dalilah Gallagher, a former child art prodigy who was put down by an art critic and who now desperately wants to find her place and purpose, and find a way to see the passion in the world again. Struggling to find her muse again, or even to feel something, she spends her days modeling for other art students, and her nights trolling the bars and engaging in various acts with the strangers she meets. Soon, she runs into Blake Nottingham, a rich man who is obsessed with her, and who commissions a broke, but talented artist, Luke Roberts, to paint a nude painting of Dalilah. Blake wants Dalilah, but he's into some dangerous things. Things that Dalilah knows would ruin her forever. Dalilah is quickly intrigued by Luke, and wishes she can do something to help the artist succeed. She later realizes that only Blake can help Luke, and she will do anything to help Luke reach his dreams, even if that means getting involved with Blake. What she doesn't know is that Blake may have motivations of his own, and she must decide if she can deal with them.

The Characters: I wasn't really a fan of our MC Dalilah. I understood her issues and motivations, and was very near to liking her, but then she would make quick decisions without thinking them through, and she began to make me think she wasn't even a person worth caring about. She seemed spoiled and stubborn and generally seemed as if she didn't care about herself, so I didn't want to care about her either. I was intrigued by our love interest Luke, but I never felt I got to know him enough to be sure. Blake was the only character I was sure I liked, probably because he was meant to be so unlikable, and devious, and I knew what to expect from him. He was a perv, and a stalker, and a devious, dangerous man, and he had secrets that scared even me. I kind of loved it.

The Verdict: I give this story 3.5 stars. It was quite interesting, and I enjoyed seeing the cliffhanger. That being said, I couldn't really connect to the MC, and that made it difficult for me to connect with the story. Beyond that, it took too long in my opinion for me to reach the climax of the story, and once that happened, the story was over and I was left with said cliffhanger. Finally, bits of the story were pretty predictable, which made me unsurprised at the end. Still it was a great start to the series and something that definitely taught me a lesson. I would recommend this to those who would like a nice love story with a proportionate dose of sex and a danger hanging over everyone's heads.

World Building: This novel takes place in and around New York. Some of the story line is set in rich surroundings while the rest of the book is in regular joe-shmoe places. I liked that the heroine preferred the regular places instead of the places that boasted opulence.
Characters: There were three main characters in this story. First was the ultimate villain, Mr. Nottingham. Second was the heroine, Dalilah. And third was the hero, Luke. Mr. Nottingham was enigmatic. He was an aloof billionaire that had a dark side to him. I wish his character was a little more developed in the terms of his behavior. He did abuse the heroine as some points and I wish his dark character didn’t have to resort to that. Dalilah kind of came off as a wilting flower at times. I did admire the fact that she was willing to do anything for Luke but I wish she just used her common sense more. As for Luke, instead of believing that Dalilah deserved more than him, he needed to believe that he was awesome. Because that is exactly how Dalilah saw him but he just couldn’t believe it. I wished his character had more confidence in himself.
Plot: This novel had a few story arcs to it. The first was the romance between Dalilah and Luke. The second was the uneasy manipulation of Mr. Nottingham. And the third was Dalilah regaining her artistic voice again. Out of all of the arcs I really wish that Dalilah’s art was given more focus than it was. I loved that she lost herself years ago and was finding herself again. Also even though it might seem like it, this story is not a love triangle story, I repeat it is NOT a love triangle!!
Writing: A lot of the language and dialogue in this story was proper. Sometimes it made the conversations a little less than believable. Also all of the main characters had an air of arrogance to them, which I could understand sometimes but it did get on my nerves after a while.
Curb Appeal: The blurb really gives you the story in a neat little summary. You do get to know the characters more as you read, so this blurb gives the story a good starting point. The cover is pretty cool looking too.
Ultimately: I did believe this story had a hell of a lot of potential. I feel like the author could have really delved deep and given all the characters more depth if the story was developed a little more. If you’re looking for a tale that has great arts and dark manipulation, come and check out how Dalilah learns to be Fearless!

This is a story about two struggling artists who struggle for two very different reasons and a man who set his sights on a girl who is underage but 10 years later, he tries to get what he wants.

20 year old Dalihia comes from billionaire parents but won't take any hand outs and has been living on her own for the last few years. She makes her money by posing nude for art classes. She is basically a drunk at night to help her drown out her feelings. She received a spiteful art review at age 10 and lost her vision after that. She desperately wants to get it back but can't over come her demons. In walks the stalker Blake.

Blake Nottingham is a successful CEO and has had his sights on Dalilah for many years now. He has been stalking her for the last several years. He is into BDSM (although he is more of a masochist than anything) and takes advantage one night of a drunken Dalilah.

Luke is a struggling artist and is a poor 20 year old trying to make ends meet. He takes up several meetings with art investors hoping one of them will one day take an interest in his work. He sets up a meeting with Blake. Luke drew a picture of Dalilah one day after seeing her on the subway and that is in his portfolio. He doesn't know Blake's feelings toward Dalilah so when Blake comes to that picture, he asks Luke to paint her nude. Blake sets up all the arrangements and this is how Luke and Dalilah meet. They develop a relationship while she poses nude.
Will Dalilah and Luke fall in love? Will Blake's controlling mean streak allow Dalilah to have a relationship with anyone but him?

I gave this 2 stars because of the "genius" heroine. I felt no connection with her and for being so intelligent, she made such stupid decisions. The one incident with her and Blake, twisted my gut. I couldn't stand Blake but I did like Luke even though some of his reasonings, I found to be so juvenile. He is 20 years old but won't sleep with Dalilah because he is poor and can't provide for her? He is 20. Do 20 year olds worry about marriage and their future? None I've met.

I received a copy of this book from Xpresso Book Tours in exchange for an honest review.

I wanted to like this book. The plot is nothing new, though. There's always a love triangle. The heroine fall for a man who feels he is not good enough for her because, of course, she is this amazing perfect girl which everybody but herself can see. Then, there' sa brooding rich man who wants her, but he's dark and difficult to trust.

Honestly, this book was okay overall. I just couldn't fall in love with the heroine. I don't know why, but she just couldn't win me over. Maybe it was her immaturity, her insensitivity, or her annoying decisions. I just don't get it. The hero was kind of okay, but I think I was more feeling sorry for him than actually liking him.

This is a first in the trilogy, so you know how these serials go. You always get disappointed by the ending. Fortunately, I was already expecting the story to end like that, so there was no surprise there. A testament this book being a good one is that by the time you get to the ending, you already want to move on to the next book. I may not have liked the heroine, but I think it's safe to say I'm going to be looking for the next book and read it too.

What a hideous book. The characters are completely one dimensional, not to mention grossly annoying. Dalilah feels she has to constantly remind the reader of how smart she is, by chucking in long words occasionally, but other than that, doesn't really prove her smarts. I think the author knew that her characters are one dimensional, as the character of Luke is suddenly good at basketball, then suddenly good at ice skating, both of which don't really seem to have a baring on anything other than a convenient location to propose in.
The way in which the characters speak do not reflect their ages. The sentences seem very wooden and forced, and are just there really to show off how 'amazing' everyone thinks they are.
Luke is very conscious of the wealth gap between him and Dalilah, but she still takes him to the swankiest restaurant in town to meet her parents, a little insensitive, no?
I could go on, but I'm boring myself.
I didn't even want to give this book one star. If you are a fan of literature, at all, then give this book a massive swerve.

I really enjoyed this book. It was emotional, romantic, and had just enough drama to keep me turning the pages. The characters felt layered, and I liked watching them struggle, grow, and open up to each other. The chemistry was strong, but there was also a lot of heart beneath the steamy moments, which made the story feel more meaningful.

It wasn’t perfect—some parts felt a little drawn out—but overall it was an engaging, heartfelt read that left me thinking about the characters even after I finished. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Fearless

Dalilah use to be a famous painter at the age of ten, now nine years later she's doing dead end jobs for hardly nothing. She has a run in with a billionaire named Nottingham who wants her to lose nude for a painting. She meets the painter like and falls in love. Will it last? Good read.

***I received an ebook ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review***

Dalilah Gallagher used to be an artist, but after a bad experience at a young age, she started working as a nude model for art students. Luke Roberts is a starving artist trying to make a name for himself in Manhattan. Their paths cross when Blake Nottingham commissions Luke to paint a picture of Dalilah. The more time they spend together, the more Luke and Dalilah start to feel for one another too, but Blake has other plans, and they don’t include anyone ending up with Dalilah but him.

Fearless is the first book in a trilogy. It’s a short, easy read, and it’s filled with all kinds of romance, sex, and of course, drama. I had a really hard time connecting with any of the characters in the book. I think that’s because they really didn’t get a chance to be developed. The story moves at warp speed, and it seemed like some things were merely glossed over before the next event was happening. The plot itself was fun and I did enjoy the writing, because I think Annie has a way with words and setting scenes.

Like I said before, the pace of the story threw me off. Things felt rushed, and I wish that Annie would have taken time to explore some stuff more in depth and considered making the timeline of events a little longer, even if that meant writing a little bit longer of a book too. I guess I just would have liked to have seen Dalilah and Luke get to know each other better and get to experience more of one another before diving head first into lover’s oblivion.

One thing I did enjoy about the characters in this book is that they are flawed. It irks me when authors present us with perfect, pristine characters, so the fact that Annie created characters who are human, who make mistakes and have bad habits and histories, made me happy.

I’m not sure that I’ll continue with this trilogy, because I’m afraid the next few books will be as rushed as the first one. However, I will certainly check out Annie’s other works, because I do enjoy her writing in general and I think she’s a good author.

Three stars to this book!

Daliah Gallagher had it all when she was younger as an art prodigy until one day , she lost all of her inspiration . Wanting to escape from that world, she moved to New York to find her muse and became a model and nude model for Art Students. During this time , she is met by Blake Nottingham who we later discover is a CEO , at the first meeting we think he is just an admirer but later down the track he becomes a bit of a full on stalker. He has hired Luke , to paint a full nude portrait of Dalilah and is willing to pay the big bucks for it. What will happen though when Luke and Daliah agree and start spending intimate time together during the project. This of course leads to a secret romance, that we note that Blake Nottingham isn't very pleased about and he starts to show his true colours of a nasty manipulator and dominant. This book does contain a bit of BDSM to it and shows just how easy one can get played and go from having the upper hand to being the submissive and no longer in control. What will happen though when Daliah's had enough of the games ? Can she stand her ground with Blake or will she realise that she is in far too deep to back out now and that she has gotten herself involved with a man who can- with a click of his fingers make those she cares most about in the world suffer , if she does not play his games. This book ends in a semi-cliffhanger, if you love the Art world and a hint of BDSM and Eroticism along with the art of Manipulation , this is the book for you.

OMG what a story, from the beginning you get suck into the story and there’s no a way to stop reading.

This story is about the daughter of Ryan and Iris in the Illusions Series, so I recommend if you want to read Fearless read the parents series first you want be disappointed.

What happens if at the age of 11 the young extremely talented heiress Dalilah receives a bad review from a critic? She loses her passion in painting and now 8 years later everything she does is getting drunk and works as a nude model.

Luke Roberts did not expect to find his muse sitting on the bus on the way to a meeting today. At night the only thing he was thinking of was this pretty red head with the contemptuous look and the beautiful green eyes who had sit a half hour on the bus. So he made a sketch of the girl’s face to get rid of the stress he had from the day.

Blake Notthingham the wealthy benefactor who’s been trying to get to close in years with Dalilah has a proposition for her he wants to have a nude painting of her. And he has the perfect gifted artist to make this happen after seeing the sketch that Luke made earlier of her.

But Blake wants more from Delilah and will go to no ends after discovering that she and Luke have become more than painter and model.

Manipulations and dangerous games will not only destroy the man she loves but also her own life?

Dalilah is a child prodigy who was pretty much washed out by the age of 11. Hurt by some hateful words blocked Dalilah's talent and shes been trying to get in touch with her old talent at the age of 20. Growing up she manage to get herself a couple of stalkers who admire her beauty and talent now and then. Now shes a nude model for other painters and managed to be hired to pose for a portrait painted by Luke for himself with the whole starving artist thing. Now she must paint Dalilah for a Blake Nottingham who is has a obsession for Dalilah. As times goes on with each painting session the attraction between Blake and Dalilah grow. Trying to give Luke what he wants Dalilah wants to decieve the wealthy and well connected Blake Nottingham to get Luke the spotlight he deserves.

I thought that this was an enjoyable book. but just as a warning there is a major cliffhanger left and the ending that'll leave you wanting more. I managed to catch myself saying out loud What?!? I loved that there was the dual point of view, I loved that they didn't instantly jump in the sack that they at least went out. I already knew that the deception was gonna turn out bad and I'm curious of how it'll get further into checking the next book. Overall this book was fast paced, steamy and enjoyable. I can't wait to check out this next book I recommend you lovely readers to check this book out!

This is my first time reading anything by this author, I hadn't heard of her before this but I am glad that I was given the opportunity to read this book. The author has done a great job with the writing and this is a pretty quick and effortless read. It's quick flowing and pulls you along with the drama that surrounds the characters. The romance that builds between Dahlia and Luke has the perfect amount of chemistry and passion mixed in with a healthy dose of sweetness. The story is told from separate points of view, which I always find enjoyable because it gives the reader more insight into the character and their motivations. I even have to admit that Blake was excellently crafted, he's the perfect love to hate him kind of character. I could have done with a little less of the constant reminders of how much of a genius Dahlia was, but that is my sole complaint, and just a tiny one at that. The story was thoroughly enjoyable and as books in a series tend towards this book ends in a cliffhanger, a really really huge cliffhanger! Thank goodness that the next book in the series Secrets and Lies is already available! I can't wait to see what happens next! I was given a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book is about a character by the name of Dailah Gallagher that loses touch with her artistic mind after a critic destroyed her to promote his upcoming daughter. Dailah is trying to find some type of purpose in her life. Posing nude for art studio classrooms and staying kate in open bars until she meets this perfect guy that helps her resurface her mind into art. After so many years Dailah was oblivious to her passion. After posing for the character Luke Roberts for a full body portrait of a successful guy by the name of Blake Nottingham she falls in love with this amazing artist. But her Luke must not be together until his career jumps off because he feels that he isn't enough for a million dollar baby girl. So she decides to screw Nottingham to uprise his career. Nottingham wants her hand in marriage and she doesn't feel the same but she must play on this charade to get her lover his uprising career. Something dark happens you must read more to find out. I recommend this book to anyone that is into mystery and suspicion. I loved this book because it was so amazing how someone could get their passion of art by channeling lobe through someone else. If just explains how our souls are more connected than we think.

This isn't the usual type of book I like to read, but I decided to give it a try, solely based on the pretty cover--terrible, I know! I'm glad I tried it though because I did really like it.

The romance was very sweet and touching. I think it helped a lot that we were allowed into Luke's head as a POV. In many books, we only get to hear the female's POV, so the male always seems a bit distant and unreal. This was a nice change. Luke is a very likeable character too.

I'd say Dalilah's character is less likeable. She is a literal genius, something of which we are reminded repeatedly. Seriously, the girl needs a bit of humility. Despite that, she is, without doubt, the dumbest character in the book. Pretty much everything she did left me asking, "WHY?!" She thought NOTHING through.

Still, she didn't ruin the book for me. When she was with Luke (which was much of the time), she was more tolerable.

Nottingham... Well, he's disturbed, that's for sure.

I did not realize this was part of a series, so I was unprepared for the terrible cliffhanger. Really bad place to leave it! Although I expect all will end well, so I'm not too upset.

I love that we are seeing this series. I love Ryan & Iris' story and to see their daughter come out was amazing. You don't have to read the Illusions Series before this one but I would recommend it. Dalilah is from a very wealthy family. She is struggling in life even though she is extremely talented, she's lost her light since she had a horrible review from a critic. She models nude, and does some side jobs. She ends up landing a gig for Blake Nottingham, who seems strangely obsessed with her. Blake hires Luke Roberts to paint a nude painting of Dalilah. Luke & Dalilah start to get very close but Luke doesn't want to mess this up because he's a struggling artist, and he needs the money. Their feelings eventually get the better of them and they make out a few times which leads to more. Nottingham finds out about their kindling relationship and gives Dalilah a choice. A choice that will destroy Luke & her both, but she can't see another way out. Will she choose Luke or Nottingham?

Fearless becomes Fearful......

OMG and then some. This is my first encounter with Ms. Scooby and a shocking one at least I will certainly be adding her to my favorite authors list. I was just waiting for the other shoe to drop the whole time the love story was building behind this villain's back. It wasn't quite as predictable as I originally thought but I was totally certain that the love affair would soon become public knowledge and the manipulation would finally be to Dahlia's detriment. Now I can't even imagine how horrific her life will become. My throat was in my mouth every time she left the apartment because I was certain the limo would be awaiting her any day totally unbeknownst to her. When that didn't happen I was sure then that what happened was most definitely going to happen. I suppose I will go to the next book in the series to learn of the plight of the perfect couple.

Initially I found this book difficult to read, I can't put my finger on the reason exactly because I loved the characters, however it did improve significantly after the half way point. This book has a quite unique storyline, with a hint of mystery and suspense running alongside the romance. Luke and Dalilah make a wonderful cute couple, they just work. Despite their differing backgrounds they have masses in common. But there is the dark and sinister Blake Nottingham, how will he spoil the party. Despite the slow start this book is certainly worth reading, the Cliffhanger has me excited for book 2. I award this book 4 stars~ Rosie

I was given an ARC book for an honest review free of persuasion from the author or anyone else affiliated with this book.

I couldn't get into this book. It seemed like the same old song and dance to me. Daughter of rich parents wants to make it on her own. She is barely making ends meet when she falls for another barely making it artist. Along comes a billionaire that is in love with her and can give her the high life she used to know. But she wants to use that relationship to further the career of the man she truly loves. It was a quick and easy read that I just couldn't get into. I didn't fall in love with the characters or the book.

I don't usually leave comments but...

Seriously, a child prodigy that isn't smart enough to land in this story, no, not likely. Skipping grades, high is but so dumb as to land where she did.

Ugh, I don't even want to contemplate the next book why bother.
No it wasn't the bean either. I have read some nasty things but to intentionally put yourself into rape like situations no.

Hey if you like good characters gone stupid for no reason other than a bad story no worries. Or a decent story with the wrong type of lead character sure.

Great read. I really liked Dehilah when she was a little kid in the other series. I still really like her now too. She's just a little lost. But she starts to get her voice back with the help of Luke. She wants to help him, without him knowing of course, so that he will finally realize that he is good enough for her. This does end in a cliffhanger and I really can't wait to start on the next book to see what is going to happen. I want to slap her for what she says at the end of the book though.

Fearless by Annie Jocoby was the first time read for me. Fearless was kinda hard to get into in the beginning but after reading more of it the book got better. I liked the writing and the characters were likable. I didn't care to much for the heroine she was annoying and immature. But overall I liked the love triangle between the characters. If you like books in series than you should give Fearless book 1 in the Fearless series a try.

Oh my god. I loved this book so much. But I am really a fan of this authors writing. So creative and not traditional mommy porn. The characters are flawed and it makes it so much more interesting. You fall in love with some character while loathing others. I can't wait for he next book in this series. Wish I could find me a Luke. I thought Nick was going to be ,h forever book boyfriend but nope, Luke is in my heart forever. Can't wait.

It was an okay read for me. I liked it enough but didn't love it. I love Delhila and lukes story and that she's supper rich and down to earth. Wasn't the worst I've read and not the best. Major cliff hanger which is alright. Definitely leaves you wanting to read more. I did receive this book from good reads for free which I always appreciate. ;) I think I need to do some back reading then I may fall completely in love with this series.

Very well done. Hot and compelling.

This was such a good read. In the beginning the lead female character is a mess...definitely depressed. She falls for one man as another falls for her...oops. Now she has to figure her way out of this dilemma.

I was warned it had a major cliffhanger yet I tried this book and really liked it. I may have to get the next one.

don't think I care to find out how this ends unless it ends up free on the kindle free books app. this was only the sameish love story with awful language.

This read had a 50 shades of grey feel. Except ten times worse. I kind of wish I never read it. Not my cup of tea at all!
