Lizzie Medina’s dreams are about to come true. She’s finally about to marry her true love, the internationally famous movie star Thomas Harper. Her career appears posed for a break out of its own. And, maybe best of all, her family actually seems to have accepted her relationship with Thomas.
Just when it seems that it might be possible to actually get everything she ever wanted, Lizzie’s perfectly constructed world starts getting complicated. There’s a rift in the family over a surprise pregnancy. Thomas begins shooting his dream movie—on the other side of the ocean. And the stress of planning a wedding with her overbearing loved ones makes her question how much they’ve changed after all.
When someone from Thomas’s past resurfaces, everything Lizzie has worked so hard to build is threatened. Now she must decide, once and for all, what really matters to her—and what she’s willing to fight for.
I thought this was the last book in the series, so I was a bit surprised when I read at the end notes that there was a fourth book!
Lizzie really grew stronger in this third installment. As someone who's always had to get the approval of her family, it was a difficult journey for her to reach a point where she could stand up for what she wants and not feel guilty about it. Her relationship with Thomas may still come across as uber ideal and romantic, but far from it since there are snags... But the way they're able to work through them makes this story like a big advice column. Such good writing!
I was thrilled with the outcome of this book- I wanted her to have the wedding she wanted, but understand her desire to please her family. I love the solution he found and included her family in planning. I'm glad they finally got married and appreciate that she didn't believe the rumors.
There was never any question as to whether I’d finish this series. I loved the first book. But I’ll be considering this the final book (as I don’t really want to read the fourth because it’s not focused on Lizzie and Thomas), and I have to day: I might like this one the least? My major gripe with the previous book is the lack of time Thomas and Lizzie spent together, which isn’t at all an issue here. I love seeing them spend time together. However, we get less of their conversations and more of Lizzie‘s internal monologue when they’re together. I was hoping for conversations of where they want their lives to lead or even mundane things on what to make for dinner. But it seems like all conversations happen “off screen” and we only get to see the same sorts of conversations between them in person: ones about money, Thomas’ fear that Lizzie will leave him, and how much they love each other. (Spoiler alert: Its a lot.)
I enjoyed this novel and am happy to have read their story through but I do wish the later books had captured the magic between the two main characters (as well as their actual chemistry) as well as the first one did.
This author runs away from dramatic tension the way a rabbit runs away from a fox. Also not sure if I should feel insulted on behalf of Mexicans, I mean, really?! Or is Lizzie Medina just the biggest loser on God's green earth?
Have thoroughly enjoyed reading this third book in the series its been full of highs and lows and its nice to read a happy ending would recommend this book
Title: Lovestruck Forever Author: Rachel Schurig Series: Yes Cliffhanger: No Release Date: June 2, 2014 Rating: 4 HEA:
Lovestruck Forever is the third and final Lovestruck book that follows Lizzie and Thomas. This book continues with Lizzie and Thomas planning their wedding and dealing with her overbearing family. There is more drama with her family and the paparazzi.
Lizzie and Thomas’s relationship is now fully accepted by her family. Accepted except for them living in sin together before they are married. And Lizzie is having trouble telling her family that she doesn't want the wedding that everyone else in the family has had. Although her family has learned from past mistakes that doesn't mean that they have changed completely. That and dealing with paparazzi will make it stressful form Lizzie and Thomas.
This book was just as good as the other ones. It was more of a fluffy book. I liked finishing the journey I started with Lizzie and Thomas. I just wish that there was less fluff and some things weren't just skimmed over. I wanted to hear more about other characters and how they were doing. I just wanted more in general. It was good how it was but it wouldn't hurt to have more.
I still love Thomas. He continues to be a sweet and thoughtful guy who goes above and beyond for Lizzie. It was almost to the point where I feel like what is Lizzie doing for him. Maybe I just didn't notice too much but it seemed like she didn't do even half as much for him as he did for her. That is for the above and beyond not the normal everyday things that couples should do for each other.
One thing that I really love was the growth in their relationship. The confidence that Lizzie finally had in their commitment was refreshing. There was a lot less worry about the same old money issue and she trusted him completely. It is great to see a relationship that is so strong and healthy.
I think there is another book or novella about Jackson Coles and Lizzie’s cousin Sofie but I am not going to read that any time soon. Maybe someday but neither of those characters came across the best for me. Sofie complained about a lot and was stubborn about so much so often that it got annoying. And Lizzie and Thomas don't always have the nicest opinion of Jackson and that makes me not that interested in a story about him. And I don't want to read yet another story that deals with a new mother and baby daddy trouble or anything like that. I have just read too many recently and I can't stand another one right now.
All in all it was a good book with a nice conclusion to Lizzie and Thomas’s story. This is a good book for a light easy read. This was a solid and consistent series.
My reviews for this series are consistent for the most part:
I love them! I love Lizzie and Thomas! I just can't give 5 stars because it is a solid average lovely series but it isn't "amazing".
Further - similar issues in this book as in the first two:
Pacing and repetitiveness are a bit of an annoyance. They slap each others butts a lot. I wouldn't mind more pillow talk.
With that being said I liked this one as much as the first one but more than the second one. The second one I described as sort of "growing pains". There was more angst and drama. I like this series because I can just sit back and enjoy. I loved seeing Lizzie come into her own with her writing. I loved her and Thomas planning for their futures. I loved the Pinterest story line since I too have a secret wedding obsessed board.
The only part that kind of bothered me in truly in terms of pacing/explanation was the following
SPOILER
* * * * * * Ok - so the dramas at the end. It was a bit muddled for me. When Lizzie first finds out from Holly/Callie/Sofie about the things Franny is saying to the media she feels "numb" and upset but doesn't have the ability to process it because of Laura's baby coming. She wants to cry. She wants to desperately talk to Thomas.
Yet after the baby comes, and without any real description of her state of mind process, she is shocked that Thomas would travel home to see her after this shocking news story is blowing up the news. She is completely blown away by the level of his concern and doesn't even really ask about it until they are settled down in bed later on.
I have no problem with this strong version of Lizzie, but from Point A to Point B is a big leap with little detail. I don't mind her being so chill but some description of how she mentally got there might have helped.
With all that being said I am so sad this is the last full length story for the time being and all I have left are the Christmas story and Sofie's story which I'm looking forward to but I will also miss not being in Lizzie's head. I kind of got used to being there and living vicariously through her.
When I was halfway through, and I felt like there was hardly any drama so far, I got incredibly scared and stopped reading for a few days. I just couldn’t face it at that time. My fear, interestingly, was unfounded, because the decision Lizzie is supposed to be forced to make… not happening! Now, even though I am mad that I was led in a totally wrong direction, I cannot help but saying that I was glad about that development. The above-mentioned drama would have been so normal. It just happens in every other romance book, so this was a really nice surprise. I mean, there is some drama, but just not the way you’d expect. And that’s awesome! The thing I couldn’t handle… Look, I have this idea about HEA that a lesson learned towards the end of a book is a lesson learned for life. But Lizzie takes three books – so far – to learn and understand – over and over again – that she needs to be her own person, and if she can’t be, she won’t be herself or respected by her family. Lucky her to have Thomas. Thomas… Well, he’s perfect, there’s no denying that. Bit too perfect, either that, or very insecure. It might be both, looking at the book.
In exchange for an ARC, I'm giving an honest review of Rachel Schurig's Lovestruck Forever.
Lovestruck Forever is book 3 of the Lovestruck series. Lizzie and Thomas are staying close to her family for a while to help them through some issues. They're engaged and seem to have a plan for how they're going to proceed with the near future, but they suddenly have career opportunities and family drama to work into the plans. Lizzie has always had a tough time finding her voice where her family is concerned, but now she has to figure out what will make her happy and keep the peace with her family, all while encountering situations that could make her doubt the one thing she's been sure of.
First off, let me just say how much I love that Ms. Schurig always manages to make her books entertaining and believable at the same time. I can't count how many times I've rolled my eyes while reading a book because the major drama in it was just ridiculous. You know, like when a female character walks into a room, sees the guy she finally falls for hugging his ex, freaks out and leaves the state because surely he's been cheating and playing her for a fool, and the remainder of the book is her aching with betrayal before he hunts her down, says he was telling the ex he's in love with someone else, proposes, happily ever after. I can't stand that stuff. It's nice to read about characters with sense. There are moments when you just want to shake a few of them, but I've felt that about most people in my family, too. This book feels like it was supposed to wrap up the Lovestruck series, but I really hope there's more. I could read about Lizzie and Thomas Forever.
This is the 3rd book in the Lovestruck series by Rachel Schurig however, I feel the book could be a stand alone novel also.
Lizzie and Thomas are no ordinary couple. Lizzie is Latin American and lives in the states and comes from a large close-knit and often overbearing family. Thomas is English and lives in Britain. They met in London while Lizzie was working over there. Thomas was a struggling actor back then however, after a lucky break his career in acting was catapulted to a different level. The couple have had challenges along the way coping with this new stardom and the attraction it creates.
This story starts just after Lizzie and Thomas got engaged. Lizzie's family are arranging a huge engagement party and at the moment the couple are happy for the over zealous family to plan this party. However, when it comes to planning the actual wedding the couple wish to do it 'their way.'
Thomas' career reaches fever pitch again whilst filming the starring role of a new movie in London. Lizzie is also trying to get her own writing career on the road.
Will the pressures from family to get married the traditional way cause disagreements? Can the couple cope with a long distance relationship? Is the couples life about to change for the better?
I really enjoyed this story, it was heart warming and fun and full of romance. I would recommend this novel for young adults and young at heart who like a modern romance with a touch of fairytale quaintness.
I was supplied with an ebook copy of this book for an honest review.
I have been so excited to find out what happens next with Lizzie and Thomas, and Lovestruck Forever certainly doesn't disappoint.
Lovestruck Forever follows Lizzie and Thomas as they plan their wedding and everything that goes along with it: lots of decision making, dealing with family, and making Lizzie's dream wedding become a reality. I loved all of the interaction Lizzie had with her family, especially her mother and sisters. I wanted to stand up and yell at them to shut their mouths and just listen to Lizzie for once! There were also a few heartfelt, touching moments between Lizzie and her family members that totally made me tear up, I was so happy for them.
The side stories involving Lizzie and Thomas, Lizzie's sister Laura, and also Sofie were very interesting to see develop, and I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. I was a little sad I didn't feel the same strong emotional responses to these situations as I did with other character interactions, but I still enjoyed reading about them.
Overall, I loved this book and I have already recommended it to friends and family! And, I can't wait to hear what's next for Lizzie and Thomas!!
By the end of the book I was reminded of My Big Fat Greek Wedding, I loved it, loved the series. Wedding planning took up much of the action with Lizzie's family moving ahead with their plans for a traditional wedding in Detroit while Lizzie dreams of being married in her beloved London. Meanwhile, life goes on in Lizzie's large extended family, two pregnancies and health issues, while Thomas has been totally accepted into their lives. The wedding "solution" was ingenious. When I finished the trilogy I discovered there are more books involving these characters, a couple of short stories and another novel.
As I indicated in my review of book #1, I wished the three books could have been one Maeve Binchey - length novel. But I have come to realize the marketing ploy of dividing stories into smaller novels to get the reader hooked and buy more books to find out what's next in the lives of by now lovingly familiar characters. I have 600+ books on my "to read" list most of which are already on my Kindle but couldn't resist buying all of the books in this series! You would think I'd learn. But I do love these characters and plan to spend the next few days vicariously living their interesting lives.
I couldn't wait for this book to end. I was excited for this one - the promise of a wedding made me long for Lizzie's long dormant maturity. Instead, I got the ever mature and patient Thomas pandering to Lizzie's immature and quite selfish self. After what her family put her through in the first book, you'd think she would have learned to chase her own happiness rather than yield to her family's expectations, but once again she disappoints, letting her family steamroll over her while planning HER day. Rather than stand up for herself, she allows them to take the reigns, which frustrated me to no end. After all her and Thomas had been through, I thought age would have developed a backbone, but no. It took Thomas talking to her family and planning TWO weddings - one in Detroit with her family and one in London, the wedding she actually wanted - to make her choose what she wanted. There was a little character growth, though, with Lizzie maturely handling speculation about their relationship in the face of nasty infidelity rumors. I would have liked to see more, though, a year and a half into their relationship. Also, this book's pacing was too fast and it almost seemed like the author couldn't wait for this one to be over, either.

What a fantastic book to end a series. I can't give it four stars, it has to five. So touching, so visually real, I felt I was there in every scene experiencing the episodes. Brilliant story, excellent and smart way of describing relations and every scene, the emotions. I never felt it was a just a fairy tale story or some dialogue thing, it was real, something that a person has experienced in her or his own life. Every emotion felt real, many scenes brought tears to my eyes. Lizzie and Thomas you are my heroes :).
Lovestruck Forever follows Lizzie and Thomas as they plan their wedding and everything that goes along with it: lots of decision making, dealing with family, and making Lizzie's dream wedding become a reality. I loved all of the interaction Lizzie had with her family, especially her mother and sister, her father.
I have enjoyed the love story of Lizzie and Thomas and was looking forward to reading this third book about them and their wedding preparations. I was not disappointed. Rachel Schurig does a great job of fleshing out the dynamics of a large family and the angst of Lizzie wanting things to be different for her wedding, but resigning herself to go along with what has always been done. Fortunately Thomas and her friends help her through this. There is a scene near the end of the book that shows the love of her family and brought out happy tears. To be honest, I had expected there to be a cameo from a certain Three Girls wedding planner and was pleasantly surprised that she did not appear and the storyline is great without it.
Refreshing and so awesome. The book is well written with great characters and culture. West coast vs east coast, Midwest and across the pond. English vs Mexican American. I've read the series and what I found refreshing was Lizzie. Her character came from a large and caring family. As the younger child she wanted to blaze her own path. She went to London in book one to graduate school. She met Thomas early on. He's down to earth and also blazing his own trail. Its not Pollyanna but Thomas and Lizzie talk through their problems and compromise in love for each other. You probably won't read a better book boyfriend ever. Great job. I hope to read many more from this author. Well done.
I'm a sucker for a good love story and this one now resides on my "favorites" list. Rachel did a wonderful job continuing Lizzie and Thomas's story. I read on her website that the story will continue with book four! *jumps for joy*
Somehow I missed reading Lovestruck in London (Lovestruck #1) and Lovestruck in Los Angeles (Lovestruck #2) so I had a reading marathon and read all three. Reviews for books one and two will be posted at a later date.
This book concludes Thomas and Lizzie's romantic story. I fell in love with this sweetly simple, romantic story of a young midwestern Latina studying abroad in England and her up and coming actor boyfriend, whom she mights totally by chance. Schurig's gift for romantic storytelling is evident in giving her readers a Happily Ever After. Very pleased to have found this author.
I hope we get to see more of Thomas, Lizzie and their family and friends. These characters have quickly become near and dear to my heart. I would love more stories with other characters in this universe. Please, please, please.
a fitting ending to the trilogy. this series is a good series to read if you're looking for overindulgent fluff about a movie star falling for a normal, everyday person. the editors left something to be wanted, with a lot of missed errors, but good mindless reading
Liked this better than #2 but not as much as the first. Overall, I really liked the story. There were a couple moments where things felt too "easy" or Thomas's character just seemed too perfect, but on the whole a nice job. And far fewer errors in this book!
I just loved this. I think my favorite part was when she found her wedding dress I could just about picture it in my head. I think my heart my have stopped for second with the drama that came near the end but it just made the story better. Good read.
