Amazing Conclusion!

This book picks up with Raella back in the states and healing from her ordeal. Just like the previous book, it’s full of action, darkness and heat. The story moves quickly, new characters are introduced and eventually she gets her HEA. This was another unputdownable read!

If she'd known anything about it, she'd have noticed. But she'd stood there, like a vixen in heat. Her desire written plainly across her face, even as she prepared to run, it was like she yanked my mind and forced me to watch her.

My Thoughts:
S.Von is quickly becoming an author | can count on to bring all the drama and all the spice. Book 1 was good, really good, but this one took the cake. This one had me on the edge of my seat a few times biting my nails but in the end, I loved how everything came together in this book. Rea’s growth in this book was amazing and Flinn…whew, I liked Flinn. I cannot wait to see what else S. Von comes out with. Whatever it is I am pretty sure it will be great.

S. Von took us on another wild ride, because the trajectory of Raella’s story was not one that I saw coming. Mission of Destruction is an emotionally-charged read with thriller elements that highlights the unsavory world of human träffįckįng and the effects that trauma can have on a survivor trying to seek justice and closure.

Raella has escaped the Armas Locas cartel and finds herself back in her “normal” life, but she isn’t coping. Rae hasn’t forgotten the women she left behind and she has scars, both visible and invisible, from her ordeal. In her pursuit of justice, she ends up working with the Global Trafficking Relief (GTR). While there, Rae must navigate her own trauma she’s trying to heal from, secrets surrounding her ordeal, conflicting feelings for the men in her life, an unexpected change in her desires, and an undeniable pull towards a member of the GTR team, Flinn.

But, unbeknownst to Rae, the men of the Armas Locas haven’t forgotten her. Two men claimed that she was theirs, and neither man has given up hope of getting back what belongs to them. Will Raella be able to take down the cartel’s operations with the GTR before they get to her?

Raella’s story is one that is thought-provoking because it gives a glimpse into the mental and emotional toll of surviving a life-threatening situation where your power has been taken from you and you have to make unfathomable calls in order to live. The path to try and heal from that ordeal can take many avenues, and some scars will likely remain forever. The dynamic between Rae and Flinn was a tension-filled slow-burn that was so palpable you could feel it through the pages. Rae’s journey wasn’t one that I could have predicted, so if you enjoy dark romance with suspense and thriller elements, give this a try!

After reading the first book, I couldn't wait to see how Raella and Segundo's story would evolve. The second book picks up some time after the events of the first one and shows us how Rae tries to resume her life before the kidnapping. As expected, she cannot return to her happy married life, so she divorces and decides to join a group specializing in helping kidnapped women.

There, she meets Flinn, to whom she feels an attraction. Flinn frequents a dom/sub club, which Rae learns about and decides to join as well. She goes to a meeting at the club, and, of course, the app matches her with Flinn. However, the meeting doesn’t lead anywhere because Flinn leaves the room.

Rae then decides to infiltrate a mission to rescue kidnapped girls but ends up being captured and returned to El Ratón. This is where the story lost its intensity for me. Despite being at El Ratón’s mercy, he makes her orgasm without raping her and patiently waits for her to ask for sex.

And where is Hugo/Segundo? The first book builds the intensity between him and Rae so beautifully, only for the second book to introduce a different male lead, while Hugo is completely absent until almost the end. When he finally appears, he finds Rae in the house where she is held, and takes her to a motel. Rae realizes she has no feelings for him but is physically attracted to him, so she sleeps with him.

While they are having sex, El Ratón catches them and kills Hugo. Then, while Rae is taking a bath, Flinn saves her. Fast forward six months, and in the end, Rae and Flinn are together.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to receive an ARC, but I would have loved for the story to explore more of Camila’s side or maybe even Segundo’s.

Either way, the fact that I didn’t personally enjoy the way the story unfolded doesn’t mean it’s not good—it just wasn’t exactly to my taste.

Mission of Destruction delivers a high-stakes, emotionally charged that dives into the gritty world of human trafficking and the fight to dismantle a dangerous cartel. The story follows Raella, a survivor with a deep mission to destroy the Armas Locas cartel that left her scarred. Her promise to the women she left behind drives her relentless pursuit of justice. However, her path is anything but easy as she navigates trauma, secrets, and an unexpected connection with Flinn — a seasoned member of the Global Trafficking Relief (GTR) team who has his own demons to battle.

The novel excels in portraying the raw emotional toll of surviving and fighting against trafficking. Raella’s character is complex and well-developed, torn between her mission and the emotional baggage she carries from her harrowing experiences with Segundo and El Ratón. Her resilience and determination make her a compelling protagonist, and her struggle to balance her trauma with her growing feelings for Flinn adds depth to her journey.

Mission of Destruction is a gripping, emotionally charged thriller that blends action, trauma, and romance effectively. It doesn’t shy away from the grim realities of trafficking, and the characters’ emotional journeys feel authentic and raw. It is a powerful and thought-provoking read that keeps the reader invested until the very end. Fans of dark romantic suspense with strong, determined protagonists will find this story captivating.

I received this as an ARC for my honest review!

This was a new one for me and y’all, I can’t even begin to tell you how much I loved this. If you haven’t read the first book in this series, then you need to start with Taken Not Destroyed before reading this book. I hate to admit how it took me a solid minute to realize that this books MC’s weren’t the same as the last books MC’s. As it finally set in, I was absolutely loving that we tried a new (to me) dynamic where we watch the FMC, Rae, through out both of these books but end up having different MMC’s. To which, chefs kiss because my goodness we were not happy with the first MMC. This one though, perfect! I loved the dynamic.

Author S. Von really had me two seconds away from pacing my house trying to get through the last few chapters. I was absolutely shocked with the last 20% of the book. But the first 80%, that flew by watching Rae and Flinn come up with this amazing plan to get back the women that were taken from their families. So in reality we were just sweet talked the entire 80% and then ran over with a semi truck on the last 20%. But dang it, she can reverse and drive back over me if she wants. That was a dang good ending to this series!!!

I genuinely cannot get over how she managed to focus on one character for two books but bring in two different MMC’s but ends with the best MMC for Rae. This was only my second book from S. Von but I absolutely look forward to what will come next! S. Von, where we going next? We staying dark? Mafia? Romcom? Where you going next? Well either way, thank you for this ride!

Holy freaking moly, this had my heart racing! All the emotions happening as I read this book. I Ed so excited to read this book and my girl did not disappoint!!!

Rae escaped the Armas Locas and has gone back to her “normal” life, but it’s anything but. She’s finds herself starting completely over pretty much. She can’t help but remember the other women and wonder what happened to them also. The poor girl has scars, some that can be seen and others you can’t. So when she gets the opportunity to consult with Global Tr@ffi€king Relief, she is on board. She wants justice and will do whatever it takes.

Flinn…man he is frustrating. He is also secretly struggling with some trauma (childhood) of his own in secret. Usually women don’t get to him like Rae does. He doesn’t like showing emotion, but he’s in deep and refuses to admit it.

The tension and chemistry between these two is incredible! So many times I wanted to shake them and make them see it too.

Rae wanted to forget the cartel, but the men who claimed her, they never will and that want her back! My heart was pounding and racing reading some of these scenes. I even gasped out loud a few times. I am so proud of Rae for being so strong, she is freaking amazing!

Of course check your triggers before reading, there are some hard and dark topics.

I LOVED taken not destroyed so I have been patiently waiting for this book to come out so I could see how Raella’s story concludes. I’m not sure how, because TND was so good, but this book is better!
The story begins some time after the first book left off, and Raella is trying to get back to normal life after her ordeal in Mexico. We see some returning cast members and meet some new ones. Raella is such a powerhouse FMC. She’s one of my favorites. She’s relatable, strong, resilient, and witty. I love her dynamics with her friends. I love how she handles her ex. I love how fiercely she wants to help other cartel trafficking victims. El Raton and Hugo of course make their appearances, and we have a new MMC Flinn. Flinn is the perfect addition to the story. He doesn’t overshadow our FMC but he augments her character so well.
This story has twist after twist after twist. It will have your heart racing and the spicy scenes will have you kicking your feet. I GASPED at one point, like don’t even try to predict the plot bc you cannot. This author sure can write some epic spice!! At the end of the book I was about ready to throw hands, then I read the epilogue and took my first deep breath since page 1. A completely perfect ending to an incredible story. So well written. Such complex characters. Loved!!!

What a wild and intense conclusion to Rea's story.

As if the last book in this series doesn't just leave you on the edge of your seat...then Author S Von wastes no time throwing you head first back into this world with these intense characters.

And this FMC Rea, has got to be one of the toughest and strongest FMCs I've ever read about. She cares so deeply for her friends and family and will stop at nothing to protect them.

Even if the means putting herself in these horrific situations... and that she does.

The MMC Flinn, is tall drink of Dom and wants nothing more than you keep Rae safe inside and outside of the bedroom...if he allows himself to drop his walls he's built around himself.

These two have so much built of tension that you're just waiting for the theoretical rubber band to snap... and when it does it's glorious!

This series has been one of those books that just sticks with you... you know that unfortunately this issue with human trafficking is a very real and awful issue in this world. Seeing this being translated into a dark romance book, even though this is fictional really sheds a whole light and perspective on what these poor woman endure and how some are fortunate enough to make it out with stories to tell and others are not so lucky.

I absolutely loved Taken Not Destroyed but this one is just as amazing if not more so. The FMC whilst still broken is stronger than ever in this book and reading it makes you feel so proud of how far she has come. Then the author throws in twist after twist bringing back a few familiar faces and you go on a rollercoaster of emotions. The new MMC is such an amazing character although I love the fact that the author hasn't made him the main focal point and leaves that for the FMC. It really adds so much more to the story as the character progression continues. I look forward to seeing where this series goes as I am loving it so far. The FMC is inspirational and so endearing, she shows that strength isn't just how hard you can hit. The author's writing style is amazing, you are truly immersed in the story and feel like you are on the journey with the characters. This series would make such a good tv series/movie series. These books are going to hold pride of place on my shelves and I know this will not be the only time I read these books as I will enjoy them for years to come. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. As always, please check the trigger warnings before you read as your mental health is important but if the TW list is a menu to you then go for it.

Mission of Destruction is an intense, high-stakes continuation of Raella’s journey, and it does not hold back. This is the second book in the Armas Locas series and dives even deeper into trauma, survival, and the relentless pursuit of justice.

Raella is a force. Her strength, resilience, and loyalty to the women she left behind make her an unforgettable FMC. Watching her try to reclaim power over her life, while facing unimaginable darkness, is empowering. She’s been through hell, but she doesn’t back down.

Flinn is an unexpected but welcome addition. Stoic, intense, and protective- he brings a calm steadiness to Rae’s chaos, and their slow-burn is deliciously tense. The emotional build between them felt authentic, layered with trauma, healing, and raw desire. Their connection is slow, sizzling, and worth every moment of the wait.

This book is unapologetically dark. It confronts the horrors of human trafficking head-on, and while it’s fictional, the emotional weight is very real. That said, please check content warnings- this one’s heavy, but important.

Overall, this book delivered exactly what I wanted: raw emotion, high-stakes suspense, and a heroine who refuses to be broken. If you’re a fan of dark romance with grit, purpose, and a powerful survivor narrative, Mission of Destruction is one you won’t want to miss.

MOD is the second book in a dark romance duet called the Armas Locas Series. I have a review for book one Taken Not Destroyed up if you want to take a look at that. (If you are interested in book 1 stop here, may have some spoilers)

Book2 picks back up with the FMC Raella from book 1 and what her left is like after running for life! What happens with El Rato and Segundo. We get introduced to Chinese MMC touch her and die, Flinn. Honestly, this book took me for a ride and a hell of a one at that lol. A few twist and the end had me shooketh! Just when I thought I was shocked! There was another drop like in a roller coaster that you didn’t see coming, had me on the edge of my seat!! That part had me bittersweet but did I really think that situation would have a HEA.

Flinn’s tattoo, a Chinese proverb in Chinese down his back. “Never harbor the intent to victimized others, but never let your guard down against being victimized.”

Please check the warning labels! The theme of the book may be too much for some. The author provides information about this.

Thank you to S. Von for gifting me a copy of this book. I am providing my own opinions and review.

Its been one month since Rae escaped from the Armas Locas cartel. Ever since she got back, she is determined to help the women trafficked. Rae decides to join the Global Trafficking Relief team to take down the traffickers and to save the women. Will she be able to go down that road again? Will the team keep her safe? Will she be able to accomplish her mission?

I was absolutely ecstatic to be gifted this book. Ever since I read Taken, Not Destroyed, I had so many questions and theories. S. Von did not disappoint. I had every question answered and the plot threw all my theories out the window. Rae was just as strong as she was in book 1. I was definitely rooting for her from page 1. I absolutely love Flinn! Flinn is definitely the MMC that I drool over. If you haven't added this to your list, you will be sorely disappointed.

Mission of Destruction is book two of the Armas Locas Series.

Raella is a very strong individual. She has gone through a lot of things through the first book and we focus on her recovering from her events. However, she can't forget about her time there and all of the women she saw and needs to help. She really shows a lot of strength and growth through this story. She isn't going to let anything break her this time. She fought for her freedom and will do what it takes to keep it.

Can I just mention how big of a douche Shawn was? Did not like at all. Thought he was very charming and he was not. He's a side character so this does not take away from the story for me.

Where I thought this book was going was not where it went. It went in a good direction, I just thought things might be a bit different. I wasn't expecting Flinn, but we needed someone who could be there for Raella with everything she goes through. He was a solid choice.

I have felt like ive been waiting years for this book and not just months. I couldn't put this book down the minute I started; this amount of pages usually take me 2 days to finish but I couldn't wait. I devoured it in 6 hours. If I could give this book 6 stars I would give it 6 stars.

so lets start:
1. Rae's husband's husband Brian?; F that guy! gah! I wished he been murdered! I didnt like him In the first book, and even less in the second. He got off too easy.
2. Sean...didnt like him either lol
3. Essa, green is an ugly color
4. Daddy Flinn? yesssss, Daddy Flinn; gah is EVERYTHING! He is exactly what Rae needed and his brooding is hot lol

Rae is a total badass, 0-100 quick. She never let herself falter and she didnt let break no matter what was thrown at her. My girl is strong! I am obsessed with book 2; so friggen good

This book was so intense due to the nature of the trauma. In book 1 Raella was kidnapped and trafficked by the Mexican Cartel so in this second installment she has made it back home and trying to find her footing in a somwhat normal flow of life. But it’s not that easy to get back to a state of normalcy when your captors unlocked a dark side of you that you didn’t know existed. Now Raella finds herself working to bring the cartel down while navigating her newfound desires to be dominated within a set a boundaries that are set by herself not the men that took her. When she decides to go undercover to bring them down things do not go as planned and she is taken yet again but this time the captors are on a mission to take back what they deem is their property. I really hope there is going to be a third book because I read this one in one sitting and I need to know more.

Mission of Destruction
Book 2 of the Armas Locas Series
Available on KU!

Rae is trying to get back to a normal life after her escape from the Armas Locas cartel. Now she is working with Global Trafficking Relief to save women from the same fate.

We are introduced to a new MMC in this book, Flinn. He is immediately attracted to Rae. And when he finally let that wall down....

During her mission for GTR, she finds herself face to face with some old enemies.

Huge thanks to S Von for the copy of this book! I really enjoyed this series. Reading about how much Rae went through and how strong she is. To put herself back in that position to help other women. I am kind of mad about that one part, you know what you did!!!

I loved the ending. I was hoping it would end that way.

**ARC REVIEW**

Holy hell. This was a RIDE. A sinful slow burn with so much sharp tension I could have sliced a bagel with my Kindle.

Book 1 ended on a cliffhanger that left me beside myself, and this was just the satisfaction I needed to carry on with my life. Masterfully done.

The climactic ending left me GAGGED and absolutely clutching my pearls. I did not see that plot twist coming AT ALL.

The development of the FMC from the start of Book 1 to the end of Book 2 is cinematic. The passionate chemistry of the love interests is FIREY, and the spice is HOT HOT HOT.

Dark romance lovers who enjoy mafia tropes, slpw burns, and passionate smoldering spice, get into this series. Do not sleep on this duet, you will not be disappointed!

10/10.

Make sure you read Taken Not Destroyed first because this is part two and check out the trigger warnings because you may become triggered. This book is about a woman who has gone through quite a bit of trauma, and yet is so strong that she’s willing to try and destroy these people that hurt her. Rae finds out that there’s a group who’s looking for one of the women who went missing in a similar way she did and she’s going to work with them because she’s been through it. Flinn is one of the men who’s part of the team that’s hired to help save this other woman. Rae find comfort and safety with Flinn. I highly recommend you read this book it’s one of those you probably won’t put down.

Amazing story!

This is the 2nd book in the series with the first ending in a cliffhanger. The start of this book we find Rae back home but not feeling complete. All through the book I was on the edge of my seat because she goes to help with the human trafficing and I knew there would be twists but alot I did not see coming. Once she was on the inside, I was biting my nails the whole time with anticipation. I literally gasped out loud at one point. The ending is definitely not something I seen coming but loved it just the same, maybe ever more than the one I anticipated. This series is a recommended series to read. I do suggest checking the TW before reading tho.

I truly enjoyed the journey of Raella! Her growth throughout the story is inspiring, and it’s amazing to see how much she’s been through and how she’s developed as a character. While I didn’t connect with her as deeply as I did in the first book, her romance with Flinn had a great build! I found myself wishing there was just a bit more of their moments together. The writing is absolutely phenomenal, and even though I didn’t completely lose myself in the story, I still had a great experience overall!

A 4 star read for me. If you like dark, spicy, and dom/sub, I would check it out. One thing that made me question is that she was kidnapped in book 1 and used by the cartel. She should have lots of emotional damage, but i didn’t see much in this book about that, plus getting into a relationship with a dom guy just been out of place. Now I love that she helped save other kidnapped woman and I am happy she had a HEA. The book was good! I do recommend you check it out.

It is darker than the first one and deals heavily with trauma. It’s not easy, not at all. I have enjoyed the story, but at the end, it felt too rushed at the last stage. It started well with all the healing and getting a purpose of life for Rae, but then everything happened too fast, we don’t get facts, and then we don’t get the explanation too. Everything is a one-liner, and we are left hanging with the imagination. It could have turned out much better, there was so much potential.

Raw, powerful, and unforgettable.
This book dives into dark, difficult topics but does so with honesty and heart. Raella’s strength and determination made her an incredible heroine, and I admired how her faith and past struggles shaped her journey. The chemistry with Flinn was electric, and their emotional connection felt real. A gripping story of survival, resilience, and love in the face of impossible odds.

I'll be honest, this book went in a different direction than I expected after how the last one went. It wasn't bad, just not where I thought it was going to go. I thought Hugo would have been a much bigger part of the book, and what happened to him in the end was a shock.
Overal I'm glad the MFC got a happy ending after everything she went through
