Virga Tears (revised edition with photos): The True Story of a Soldier’s Sojourn Back to Vietnam

Rate this book
This is the true story of two brothers-in-law who traveled to the Central Highlands of Vietnam, where one of them was stationed during the Vietnam War. For Ben, a West Point Soldier and Special Forces Ranger, who really believed in the war, this was a sojourn to his past, a place he had tucked away long ago and never spoken about. For Jim, a gregarious anti-war neuroscientist and self-proclaimed instigator, this adventure would present an opportunity for an altogether different kind of experiment. Soon Ben would find himself unexpectedly caught in the premeditated schemes of Jim’s algorithms, who with the ally of fated twists and turns would carefully and strategically beckon Ben’s wartime experiences and traumas out of the depths of hiding. What neither anticipated was that one day in April 1996 would bring them to a place of unexpected healing.

Masterful Story of Vietnam Veteran's Truth

This true story of what remains for decades after the Vietnam War in the mind, heart and soul of a American Officer. A deep sense of responsibility to have fought to keep the South Vietnamese free, and failed. The story is told by the brother-in-law who travel back to Vietnam with the soldier. The Author is brilliant and endearingly clever in describing the 24 hours of meteoric emotion and travel happenings. Anyone can enjoy this easy read packed with a timeless message. I would love to see this as a movie with all its beauty and pathos.
