I bought the box set JUST so I could read the short stories and the preview at the end. OMG I could not put my tablet down! Kelly did a magnificent job of writing short stories for Gunner and Ellie, Jeff and Ari, and Josh and Heather. Gunner and Ellie's story is my personal favorite and gave me the biggest book hangover. If you have not read the wanted series, please read it! You will fall in love with all of the characters and just constantly want MORE! Also, the preview to Without You left me hanging! I forgot it was only 3 chapters and I kept trying to turn the page, only to discover I had finished the preview. Such a good read!

First time I have read this author and bought the series on a special sale. The first book (Wanted) was so difficult to get through because I could not stand the main character, Ellie. Her character was so "wishy washy" and immature. I loved Gunner, but just kept thinking "please just leave this girl already." Her constant return to something her mother said to her at the age of 7 was really disturbing. Her mother was an abusive (emotional) mother who did not offer Ellie love, but her brother did everything in his power to show his love for her and take care of her. Gunner did everything he could do to show is love and she kept returning to what her mother said at 7 years old. It just seemed overdone. I did like Ari, Ellie's best friend, and may continue reading the series after I take a break for a bit to recover from the train wreck that was Ellie.

THE WANTED SERIES (Boxed Set) by KELLY ELLIOTT

I have been a fan of Kelly Elliott since I read Wanted and as a fan, this boxed set is a must. Ther short stories are so lovely and it's nice to read again the life of the characters I have grown to love. Kelly writes one of the most amazing romantic and family theme stories ever and I love her books. I love all her works and I am looking forward to reading another series that is based on the children of the characters in the Wanted series.

Ansonsten empfehlenswert!

Oh My Sweet Swoony Cowboys!!!

This has become one of favorite series! I love a good cowboy story, but holy hell when you throw 6 (that’s right 6!!!!!) cowboys into the same boxset, Lord have mercy!!!!

I am not sure I can pick a favorite couple because I loved them all so very much and all for different reasons. By the time I read the last word, I felt like I was part of this family. These characters, all in their own special way, work themselves into your heart and take root with absolutely no intention of leaving. And I for one am totally okay with that.

The men are strong and loyal and love their women with such passion it leaps off the page at you. They are not afraid to show their emotional sides which just makes them all that much more sexier to me. The women are sweet and fiercely love their men all while being strong leading ladies in their own right. Together as best friends they build a life together and share the good, the bad and the ugly and I loved being a part of it.

I cannot wait to leap into the series about the kids!!!!!

4 out of 5 Stars for a loveable group a friends from Texas and their individual quest for a HEA

Wanted is a series about a group of high school and college friends from Austin, TX and how they all support each other in their quest for happiness, love and a happily ever after. You will find out about 5 couples and the story of how they got together, sometimes trough thick and thin.

So to begin with, let me start off by saying that in this review, I want to consider the box set as a whole while I’ll be reviewing the different books individually as well.

To be very objective, I think that this is the kind of series you shouldn’t be reading back to back because it gets kind of redundant in the way the story pans out: the HEA is basically always the same and ends with marriage, pregnancy and babies. However, once I started this box set, I couldn’t put it down as it was super easy to go with the flow.

What I liked:

Each book mainly relates to one couple (and how they get together) and is always written in dual POV. But what makes this series so special is that a) couples from previous books are never quite left out, and still play an important part (so no withdrawal on that end) and b) the author skilfully brings in another (generally struggling) couple and their own dual POVs. So when one couple finally manages to sort their crap out, the other couple takes over. Believe me, there is never a dull moment in this series and you are always left wanting to find out more.

It really wasn’t a confusing read at all, although it might sound like it with all the points of view and sometimes more than 10-12 characters. I was impressed of how easy it was for me to differentiate everyone (because I am one to get quite easily confused)

What I didn’t like:

The negative parts of this box set, which you definitely will want to consider before picking it up and planning to read it back to back is that it might become quite redundant, and lots of stuff that happens in this book has to be taken with a good pinch of salt. The setting is in Texas and the guys are around 21-22, while the girls are 18. The guys have finished their college education while the girls stop their own college education halfway through (if they even get to that point). As soon as they meet their soulmate, the girls drop everything and can’t help but think about marriage and babies (and the guys are totally up for that) and all couples move to the country to leave together in one and the same village. And about halfway through the series, the girls are on their second baby and they are not even 21.

And plot wise, the guys are always reformed manwhores who suddenly become the most romantic person when they find the girl of their dreams, who is generally a virgin or very unexperienced. I don’t really know if this can be deemed as realistic. I would understand if it were the case for 2 out of 5 couples maybe - but each and every couple? Really?

So was the book predictable? I would say that once the couples found each other, their lives together were definitely predictable. Yet, until they had actually found each other, their individual quests were always different and never boring (although I found myself speculating more than once what would happen and often ended up being right - the author must have a mind working similarly to mine!).

I was also a bit disappointed hat some characters had striking similarities and were almost interchangeable: some characters would use exactly the same expressions, same swear words, and not have a trademark dialogue or character of their own. Sure, when a group of friends hang out with each other they pick up each others expression, but it might have been a tad too much.

And some expressions kept on being used and re-used to an incredible extent that made them (kind of) annoying. And those were the same lines coming from completely different people at least once or twice on every page of the book:
“I love you.”
“I love you so much.”
“I love you more than life itself.”
“I would be lost without you.”
“I am going to make love to you now.” (I read somewhere that actions sometimes speak louder than words, btw)

So yes, as you can tell, there is a fair amount of cheese and schmaltz but really it didn’t bother me that much or made it a horrendous read. Of course, I noticed and laughed about it, but it wasn’t annoying me like some other books do (cue S.C. Stephens books).

And thank god this box set offered really nice steamy scenes to make it all the more interesting! Kudos on those.

And to sum it up…

I really liked the way the story flows through out the book and always kept you wanting more. In terms of writing you will actually be able to follow the author’s progression very easily. The first book in the series remains quite light in terms of the storyline (a little too easy and predictable) and full of grammatical issues, missing words, typos and wrong punctuation (or total lack of thereof). The second book was much better both in terms of editing and storyline, and by the fourth book it was almost perfect. I very much liked the language, the flow and the way the story was built so I could close an eye on the editing mistakes of the first books in the set.

I rate this only 4 stars because the storyline is not realistic enough for me, but it was really gripping and I enjoyed it even despite of the sappy love confessions. Also, the price of the box set was a definite bargain, and an entertaining one at that, so I would recommend this to anyone who can close an eye on the negative points I called out.

I don't normally write reviews because I'm not the best at putting my feelings into writing so I shouldn't criticize a proven authors work, but I've read several other reviews which wrote many negatives and still have 4 or 5 stars. When I'm choosing a book I look at the stars first then read the reviews after I finish. So here is for those who choose the same way I do.

This is the first I've read from Kelly Elliot and was highly recommended from a friend and It was on sale so I had to get it. I have a real love/hate for this series. Maybe it's a hate/love. Anyway, here we go.

The series as a whole annoyed me, from swear words and expressions that every character used in the exact same way. To the excessive sex scenes.

Jesus H. Christ used 70 times by almost every character just became so annoying I would skip the entire sentence. The dialog was so similar from character to character that I constantly forgot who was speaking.

Now don't get me wrong I enjoy the hot and steamy or slow and passionate sex as the next girl. However, each book came with character change to keep up with the other stories, which I usually enjoy, but just to break off to share a few paragraphs of story than right into a sex scene for 5 or more pages is not needed. If the dialog was different with each sex scene I may have actually read it, but apparently 5 couples coming from different backgrounds have sex the exact same way. This comes again with the excessive "I need you" "I want you". I could go on and on, but I won't.

Ellie and Gunner
I was rolling my eyes throughout the entire first book. I enjoyed the story line, however Gunner's story was way too good to be true. The ultimate playboy instantly turned ultimate romantic with one look at Ellie, and absolutely no second thought about any other women, come on. Gunner is way to sappy for my taste. Ellie is needy but given her past is understandable and gets better throughout the series.

Jeff and Ari
This story is back and fourth since they can't admit their love for each other. This was much more of an enjoyable and unexpected story line. Ari is one of the characters with the repetitive expressions. This book kept me much more stuck only because of the story line.

Josh and Heather
For me, this was the best book in the series. If their story could be pulled out of the other books and put all into one, it would be one of my favorites. Heather can never catch a break and just have that perfect ever after like all her fiends. There is more suspense and I couldn't stop reading. It did of course came with the added characters, basically only to add sex, which I could have gone without. At this point in the series when there was a character switch I became angry and usually stopped reading and came back later. Or I would read the first few pages and when the sex started I skipped to the next chapter.

Brad and Amanda
This is only a novella since most of their story has already been told within the other books. I almost completely skipped this one since it came after a cliffhanger at the end of Josh and Heathers story which wasn't explained until the next book. Anyway, since both characters are over the big bump I their marriage and starting to move forward, this book (without giving any spoilers) is very blah with added sex.

Scott and Jessie
Even though this was Scott and Jessie's story I think I got more story of everyone else than I did them. Again I skipped a lot of chapters in this book because of the excessive sex. Overall this was one of the best story lines in the book.

This series was not my favorite but it wasn't the worst I ever read. It's not one I would read over and over but I may recommend it if someone was in a book funk.

Well let me start off by saying I read all the stories in the Wanted Series as they were released. I purchased this box set when it was first released at the discounted price to have the books all in one spot as well to read the 3 short stories of Gunner/Ellie, Jeff/Ari and Josh /Heather. OMGosh I just LOVED LOVED the short storis. Josh and Heather's was my favorite. I think Gunner and Ellie's was the most real and hit close to home in some aspects. Kelly did a great job giving us insight to what has happened with the couples and their families which aided in my read of the next generation installment Love Wanted in Texas which revolves around the kids. While you dont need to read the short stories for that though. All my ratings for the Wanted series combined with the short stories is a 5star PLUS. So he you havent already read this series then here is your chance. Not go, ReadOn!

I have read this series in the past but when I ran across something on line it brought this book series to my mind and thought I really would like to re-read it as I really enjoyed the couples there lives and how all the books interlocked together showing how they grew as individuals, couple and a group of friends then throw int he families and they all worked through life hardships and optical thrown in there way. Have just bought the continuation of this series with the children grown into college age and hoping to also see into what is going on with the parents as you feel like you know them. this writer bring you in and makes you want to know what happens in their lives down the road. Love these kinds of books can't wait to read the other two series connected to this one.

Oh Kelly Elliott, how many times may I sing your praises and thank God for creating you so I could fall in love with the Wanted Family? People this is one of those slap this series in your face till you read it kind of series. Elliott writes in a way that you fall in love with these characters, invest in their (fictional?) lives and become a part of this family. I don't think there will ever be a series that I will ever love as much or be as attached to as the Wanted Series. I can not stress to you enough, how you should buy this book and buy any Kelly Elliott book. She is a phenomenal author who truly loves her fans. Please support her!!

I have to admit I am a Kelly Elliott junkie. Love her writing. Love her characters. Love the stories. I just love her. This collection of books is the ultimate collection for me. When I need a go to happy make me feel good book I go to WANTED. I love reading Gunner and Ellie's story. More than anything I love Gunner. He is the ultimate book boyfriend. So when this set was coming out with a bonus chapter for Gunner/Ellie, Ari/Jeff, and Heather/Josh I HAD to get this. Well it didn't disappoint. So happy that I got more of them. Plus now all books are under one button.
