WARNING: There is a GRAPHIC suicide in this story and there is VIOLENCE. The heroine is going to kill things since she is a demon slayer.
Bullied through high school, seventeen-year-old Justice St. Michaels is grateful for the help of her best friend Moira O’Fhey. Their only wish is to graduate high school, leave the sleepy town of Fallingbrook and all that happened behind them. The Heavens have other plans. Between growths on her back and being involved in explosive school fights, nothing seems to make sense. When an unexpected encounter with Darien Raventhorn causes worlds to collide it exposes the truth about Justice's real identity. To avenge a family death, Justice must embrace her birthright, and slay a demon before all Hell breaks loose.
Linda Bloodworth loves chips, like really, ketchup to be exact. Ketchup chips are only found in Canada. Lucky for Linda she lives in Toronto with her husband and three fur babies. In between writing, debating for hours about the Oxford comma, and the misunderstood semicolon; Linda enjoys camping and getting away from the city on day trips.
This book follows the story of the main character Justice St. Michael’s. She is 17 years old, soon to celebrate her 18th birthday, and cannot wait to graduate highschool and leave the small town of Fallingbrook. Her and her best friend Moira O’Fhey are bullied in school and have each other to rely on and help one another during these tough times.
Shortly before her birthday Justice wakes in outside, not sure how she got out there, and notices strange bumps on her back. With no idea how she got there or what the bumps are, she is confused as the last thing she remembers she has settled into her bed for a night’s sleep. Was she sleepwalking? What is going on?
She encounters a very attractive young man in school one day and finds out his name is Darien Raventhorn. But why is he talking to her? He is good looking, and wants to talk to her!? As quickly as he appears before her he disappears. Had she imagined it? Nothing is making sense to Justice anymore.
This book was a gripping and thrilling novel from the beginning to the very end. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the various characters in this book, and beware! There is suicide, murder and violence in the book, which is to be expected since Justice is a demon slayer.
I enjoyed the storyline of the book and learning about how Justice came to understand her true self and what that means to not only herself but her family and those like herself. Without giving too much away this was a fabulous read that I was more than happy to read and review. It was written in a way to keep your interest throughout, and even has some notes of love, friendship, and family ties. It’s not all killing and gore. This book was well written and I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series to continue on with the story and see what happens next.
3.5 rounded up to 4 stars! This was totally outside my comfort zone as I’ve never read anything so blatantly religious that was also fantasy. The number of different fantasy creatures and the way they all interact within the book’s universe reminded me of the show Legacies (the vampire diaries spin-off) where all the different supernatural students are in school together. The beginning is very dark. The main character, Justice, has a very rough go at it through high school. Then she finds out a long family secret that changes her whole life. The only thing I didn’t like was that I felt some things were rushed. The pacing stayed quick, but I would have liked more detail and some time to let each plot point “simmer” a little bit. The book takes place within just a few days and so much happens it is hard to keep up! I will definitely be reading the second book to see how this story ends.
This book was really good I really want that sequel I throughly enjoyed this book and I am very much looking forward to the sequel. I really liked the characters they were very well written I especially liked Justice and Darien and her best friend Moira. I really enjoyed the story even though one bad thing after another happened that just kept the story exciting. I also really liked how the romance was more of a slow romance and was not really there for all of the story. I did liked even with all of that tragedy that the main character was able to persevere. I really enjoyed this book and I hope that the next book is written soon.
First of all, I have to preface this review with the fact that this is the first book by this author and for a first book, it was amazing! I love that she provides the warning at the beginning, because although this is a YA book, I would say it is upper YA/ New Adult. I would not let my 14 year old read this book (yet). This is the first book I have read about angels, though I am a huge Supernatural fan and my brother was obsessed with the Apocrypha and several video games that involved angels, so I am not completely ignorant to the category. This is the first in a series, and I am eager to read the next book.
Now, after all that praise, I do have to nit pick at a few things (because of the writer in me, it just has to be done!) There was a fair amount of punctuation errors in the book, but I can only think of two or three times in which it threw me off and I had to re-read a section to make sure I understood what was intended. I also found the back and forth of Justice's emotions kind of... off-putting. There just isn't another way to describe it. I know that she is a teenager, and my 14 year old has that same emotional swing. But she is 17-18 years old. Some of that hormonal shift should be settling down. And the incredibly traumatic events should hold on to her tighter. Or maybe I am (and was, as a teen) too grounded. Everyone agreed I was very mature for my age. Given that no one else who reviewed the book made a comment on this, I have to wonder if it is just me.
How many books make you question if how you see the world is the same as the way others see the world? That, to me, is pretty profound.
Other thoughts: I like Justice, and can sympathize with her struggles in high school. I admire her ability to take the events in stride. Her friend Moira reminds me a lot of my girl Meggers (except for the whole being a witch thing ;) ) and I like where the story is going. Darien isn't that dreamy to me, but he hasn't completely skeeved me out like other vampire lovers in fiction. He is a little skeevy, because of this slightly stalker-like quality. However, the story makes it a little less creepy as you follow along.
*This Book Was Given To Me By The Author In Exchange For An Honest Review*
This was the first book I have read by new to me author Linda Bloodworth but I doubt it will be the last.
Let me start by saying that the world building and characters in this YA Fantasy adventure are very well done. The 2 main girl protagonist friends are so like you expect best friends to be I have to applaud that relationship.
The story is well paced with plenty to keep readers entertained. That being said, for me personally, at times it read a little "young" despite the scenes that are definitely aimed towards the upper YA end with the violence and I found that a little disconnecting which is why it didn't get a perfect 5 from me.
There is a cliffhanger but I must say it leaves you wanting to read more (not ready to throw the book across the room like some do).
Overall a solid 4 stars from me from me and I am looking forward to the next installment.

That is definitely a cliffhanger. I do like the way the author put a cute note at the end, something along the lines of not letting the story end, click this link to buy. Very easy and simple This is an author I stumbled across on the FB BOH list, so I basically went into blind by title and cover. I assumed super hero story, it was angels, vamps, witches, demons, elves, dragons, etc... It's YA, and religious somewhat, but not really. No religious matters were preached to the reader. Basically, it was more along the lines of angels are the good guys. Demons are the bad guys. I very much got a Vampire Diary feel from this story
I did not finish this book! I really wanted to like this book. The prose and story are interesting; but all the prayers and talk of Gods Plan completely turned me off. I'm not a religious person and don't enjoy reading books with a lot of religion or religious talk. With that being said, I have read similar books and finished them; this was just too much.
Justice St. Michaels is on the cusp of turning 18. She's tall and a little awkward, school is a trial, and she's counting down days to graduation. In the blink of an eye, her life changes. She meets a mysterious guy that is clearly enamored, despite not having ever met her before. Shes's attacked while at school, and defends herself to the detriment of her attacker. She discovers her best friend, Moira, is a witch. Literally. And that she is fabulously wealthy. She is also part angel, and about to begin a quest which may result in her death. God is real, and he is asking a lot of her. She has to travel to hell to slay a demon.
While this book is labeled YA, there was some graphic horror, including a suicide, a murder and violence. Probably why I liked it! There are Halflings (half angels, half humans), a witch, elves, demons, and a vampire. Lucifer himself even makes an appearance. The story itself is interesting, and builds well. I'm interested in seeing what awaits Justice on her quest. A great first of the series!
When I read the blurb for this book, I though it sounds right up my street as I am a big fan of the paranormal. This book is about the life of Justice, giving you a huge dose or angels, vampires, witches, elves and dragons!
The story is packed with action from the start, although I have to admit that I didnt enjoy the beginning of the book very much. The events at the school, even though this is a paranormal, just seemed too far stretched and unrealistic to me, with the sheer amount of violencevwhich felt unnecassary for this type of book. I also found the religious aspect hard, as i am not a religious person, and at this point I did put the book down, undecided whether or not to continue, in fact if this hadnt have been a review book, I would have probably marked it as a did not finish!
The second half however picked up things for me, and helped me to push through to the end, and i am pleased I didnt give up with it. The story progresses much more and I found myself eager to find out the outcome.
I received an early ARC of this, and let me tell you, it was fantastic. The friendship between Moira and Justice was perfect, the love between Justice and Darien made me swoon, and the overall magic of the universe was so well written that I really felt as if I was there with the characters. It has been edited some since my last read, so I'll update my review when I get the official copy. But I'm telling you right now, this is the book for you if you like magic, friendship, love, DRAGONS - THAT'S RIGHT, M-EFFING DRAGONS - and halflings and just...well it's awesome.
Update: Uh, yeah, basically with tightening...EVEN BETTER!
Long, in depth review. See end for TL;DR. Some spoiler included below. 2 stars because I did finish the book and it was a fairly quick read.
I always enjoy books with a diverse mixture of supernatural creatures and I love seeing how they will be blended into the normal world. World building is crucial in these cases, laying out the rules and hierarchy of all the beings. This book hinted at some world building but left so many threads dangling that I wasn't sure about any of it. Backstories were very limited for all of the creatures, even the Angels, which are the prevailing type. Being "chosen" wasn't clear. It seemed like a family thing but both sides of her family were Halflings so I'm left guessing. Same with the elves and witches. Being a vampire wasn't explained at all and you barely were given the rules for this particular kind of vampire. Continuity issues cropped up now and again. Biases towards the vampire from Tom when he had literally just found out they even existed seemed disjointed. For a bunch of kids who didn't even know this mystical world existed, they used their powers/talents against the dark forces like they had been preparing their whole lives.
There were many cases of graphic violence, including suicide. This is not an issue (and the author gave ample warning); however, it was completely unnecessary and served only as shock factor and lent a touch of horror to the story. A majority of the of beginning half of the book was pointless and didn't lend anything to overall story not to mention only covered a 2 day period. The suicide and deaths of the students had very little impact on the main character and just acted as a plot device to introduce "magic" and ultimately reveal Justice's Halfling nature. After the halfway point of the book, the high school events and those deaths weren't hardly mentioned or acknowledged again. The inclusion about the suicide of an 8 year old girl was in bad taste and unneeded in the story. Adding backstory about Justice's therapy also lent very little to the story once the high school scenes ended.
The emotions of the main character and secondary characters were just all over the place and highly unrealistic. After witnessing multiple people die (yea they were jerks), Justice and Moira are joking and laughing about boys. After Justice's parents die, she's worrying about if the vampire really likes her and goes back and forth between that and crying the entire second half of the story. The romance had little build up and made no sense given the circumstances of the main character. Your parents are dead, you are some super Angel who has to go to Hell to kill a demon, and you are worried about getting your first boyfriend.
The whole book was one action sequence or huge (yet lacking) information dump with very little pauses between them. It was rush rush rush and considering the whole book only spanned 5 days, it was very evident.
Lastly, I didn't love the way (Christian) religion was depicted. I get they are Angels, which lends a more serious approach but it came off as sanctimonious and cult like. Constant praying. Constant admonishment if His plan is questioned. Constant discussion about Him and His followers. Yet very little biblical representation (or background) was provided. Instead of coming off as holy, it felt almost sacrilegious.
TL;DR I wouldn't recommend this for anyone under 18 due to unnecessary graphic elements and there are better books with similar plot lines that won't leave a bad taste in your mouth.

This book was a bit of a mishmash for me. I started reading it then had to stop & check the blurb as I thought I was reading a YA PnR book? The story I was currently reading was about a 17yr old girl, Justice, & her best friend Moira. Justice was in a constant state of hyper awareness due to severe bullying at School, especially by 3 people in particular. It had been going on relentlessly for most of High School!! I (It turned out this is a PnR book!😳)
Some rather extreme violence occurs at School. The girls are present on all occasions and at two they're in very close proximity!! Although they do both survive!👍 I have to say, for me personally, this whole section of the book was horrible & mostly pointless!! I was on the receiving end of bullying from 14-16 yrs old & I didn't relate to Justice in this part of the book at all, except for maybe keeping your head down & trying not to be antagonistic! The violence written wasn't necessary to the bigger picture of this books story arc. Unless the Author was trying to imply what happened to the bullies was deserved and God's justice??😳 I'm sorry, I didn't get it, it felt ridiculous as I read it & I didn't relate to it at all!! I would have cut that whole part of the book down to a chapter of so on how she felt being bullied, being glad she was moving away to college soon & how much Moira's friendship had helped get her through it all!! Also what is blithely mentioned, regarding an 8 year old girls death, further into the book I felt was gratuitous!!😡😢This book lost a star for these points alone!! I (I hate writing negative comments in reviews unless they're constructive, so I'm sorry Linda Bloodworth 😢 I would advise getting 1 or 2 unbiased Beta Readers for your next project, I mean that sincerely, as I think they would probably have strongly advised against those chapters & that comment! 🙏💕)
On to the PnR 😀 Justice finds out, on the eve of her 18th Birthday, that her family & her personal destiny are Extraordinary!! She has had her eyes opened to the world of 'Others' by Moira & her amazing gifts, so to find out she is blessed too is a huge shock. Especially where their Power comes from!! Justice is glad, as well as freaked out, to see the beautiful, sexy boy she thought she'd imagined at School, again. He tells her he's been cursed by Seliki- a demoness, by being turned into a Vampire😱 He says that Justice can help save him from her!!👍💙
There is tragedy & shocks in store for Justice! The full extent of what she faces is forced upon her.💥 She has more allies than she knew about, which is surprising & touching 💕 Now she needs to gather her courage & get ready for the fight of her life!!🔥🙏
At times I was really into this story & others I wasn't! I wasn't a huge fan of the all of the praying, it's just not my thing so I found it it a bit much! I LOVED Acana, the Elven world! That imagination from this Author & the world she created there is definitely worthy of exploration 😎🌟 I will probably read book 2 as I think this story has a lot of promise!! 3 Stars 🌟
I was given this book by the author in exchange for a fair review. No offers of money, chocolate, or bribes were handed over...more's the pity. ;)
Seriously, for a first effort, this is a very solid outing for Ms. Bloodworth. We have our protagonist, Justice St. Michaels, on the edge of seventeen, tall, sort of gawky, and ready to leave high school, just waiting to graduate. Then, of course, things change. They always do. With growths on her back, meeting the proverbial "good looking guy" who, of course, is really into her, getting attacked...I'd call that a real life-changer.
Oh, wait, there's more! Her best friend turns out to be witch who is also incredibly wealthy, and Justice--gotta love that name--finds out she's half-angel. Yeah, that's a REAL life-changer!
Even more so is the revelation that God has a plan for her which involves literally going to hell to slay a demon. That's life-changer #3. I won't divulge the rest of the details, save to say there are some descriptions of horror that are graphic, a suicide, murder, and a boatload of violence. I'm no stranger to using violence in my own novels, but this was pretty intense.
Now, the pluses. A good pace. Well done characterizations. Nice action scenes. And the last chapter was superbly done.
However, the negatives are that the whole God's plan thing. I think mentioning it once or twice is more than sufficient, but it's done fairly often, and that, for me, was a little much. Overall, though, this was a solidly done novel, one well worth buying.
Thank you to the author for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. There is a trigger warning before you start this book, and that area of the book was covered very well, once you get past it it feels like it doesn’t belong to the actual story, it’s like it doesn’t fit into the book. Don’t get me wrong, you are held from the get go with this book, it’s a different take on angels demons, and elves. 75% into the book it made me cry, but that ending, I am so mad right now, I hope there isn’t a long wait till the next book.
I really enjoyed the concept of this one but I just couldn’t get into the characters at all. I really wanted to love this story but I just couldn’t. It was just okay and a little I don’t know disappointing for me. It took awhile to really capture my attention but even then there was just something missing. The concept though was good I always enjoy a good paranormal book.
This was a really solid start from a new author. I enjoyed getting to know her characters and found the storyline engaging. She is still learning her craft but has masses of potential. I'm excited to find out where the series goes! This should appeal to fans looking for a more grown up Mortal Instruments xx
Good. Enjoyed the story and how it developed. The characters were enjoyable. Just a quick warning if you have issues with violence this isn't the book for you as the opening pages are quite graphic.
So, I was coming into reading this book with an open mind. I really enjoyed this more than I thought I was going to. It started off a bit slow going but then it got good. If you like paranormal/action you should give this a go. Linda painted a wonderful picture with her words. I will definitely recommend this to others.
A Raven’s Touch is author Linda Bloodworth’s debut novel into the world of paranormal/fantasy… a world filled with gods and demons, fairies and elves, dragons and wolves, witches and humans.
And vampires.
A world where if good is to triumph over evil…. ‘good’ is going to have to get a little ‘bad’.
I am a relatively new reader to the world of paranormal. It is not a genre I usually indulge in, preferring bullets, bad guys and broads to otherworld creatures and magic. In fact, A Raven’s Touch is only the third book I have read in this undeniably fascinating genre. This is a testament to the author, who has crafted a story both brave and compelling, fast-paced and well thought-out. An ambitious story quite remarkable in the world of debut novels today where few rise to the calibre of A Raven’s Touch in originality, creativity, strong plot and engaging characters.
High school teen Justice St. Michaels has a problem. And it isn’t the school bullies she endures on a daily basis. No, Justice’s problem is not going to be solved by the principal of her high school meting out suspensions to the bullies. Fortunately, Justice has a circle of friends, her best friend Moira among them, looking out for her. Friends who are, unbeknownst to her, witches, elves and Halflings.
Which is good because things are about to go… what’s that English expression?... pear-shaped in Fallingbrook and cops, counselors, and clergy are not going to be of much help. It is going to take some ‘supernatural’… some ‘otherworldly’… powers to slay the demons and keep Hell where it belongs, deep in the bowels of Earth.
There’s something about Justice herself that lies at the root of her ‘problem’, something her parents, for their own reasons, have not told Justice about yet.
Her birthright.
Justice, it seems, has ‘abilities’. For some time Justice has felt that there was something different about her… something not right. And now she’s having dreams… nightmares might be a better word… and she is ‘changing’.
And as if life weren’t complicated enough for a teenage girl, enter stage right a stranger… a man both charming and dangerous. But then, isn’t that always the way with their ‘kind’?
Oh, and did I mention a jealous demon? Or is it demoness? You know what they say… “Hell hath no fury as a scorned woman.”
And with that, I should stop. I really, really hate spoilers.
I thoroughly enjoyed A Raven’s Touch. It has a solid plot that does not get mired in unnecessary subplots. There is a good level of suspense… I liked the ‘slow reveal’ of some of the characters and of Justice’s ‘secret’ as well. The pacing of the story was quite nice, with well written and engaging characters; the character of Darien Raventhorn was especially well done. I thought the moodiness of Justice was just right, a touch of teen angst to make the character believable but not so much that you really just want to reach out and slap the girl. And what I think really helps bring the story together… the thread of theology throughout the book. The element of theology helps to round out the story and it showcases the main character’s inner strength.
All of this points to a writer who knows her craft as well as her audience. I am quite looking forward to the next book in the series. That says a lot, coming from a girl who reads, writes, and bleeds noir.
Good job, Linda… Brava! Now get busy on Book Two. You kind of left us on a ledge here, girl!
It had everything that I look for in a good read - action, adventure, danger, and a swoon worthy romance.
What starts off as quite a slow book certainly develops and picks up speed quickly. While I enjoyed the first few chapters, the story didn't really get going until a few chapters later. By around about a quarter of the way in I was really hooked.
I loved Justice's character and how she stood up for what she believed in from start to end, while still being scared and worried about the future. She let others help her in her quest as well. This all made the story believable.
The story is about Justice, who is just an ordinary girl to begin with. She experiences pain in lots of forms throughout the book. Some physical but most mental. At about the half way point she discovers something about herself with her parent's help. This discovery is pretty shocking to her. Her closest friend helps her through this transition and Justice learns that friend is also not all she seems.
She meets a male character who has secrets and falls in love with him as the book progresses. He falls for her as well. There are tragedies as well, one for minor characters near the beginning and one for Justice in the middle. The male character is with her to help her through her own, personal grief.
The personal attack is because of a kind of love triangle but it's not the annoying kind of love triangle. We never see the lead male character with the enemy but there are hints that they've been together in the past. The evil character wants the male to choose her but he chooses Justice instead. This inspires most of the hatred. At least in this book. The male character been looking for Justice for years - his soulmate - and he's finally found her.
We meet about 5 main characters in A Raven's Touch. Justice and her beau, the best friend and her boyfriend, and a helper sent from a different world. Each character was lovable in their own way.
I also liked the references to Sailor Moon, and the fact the lead male character has the same name as a character in the English dub of that. Sailor Moon also fights for what she believes in, just like Justice.
I give this book 4 stars because there were a few elements that I would've liked to have seen drawn out but over all I loved this book as it showed real promise and had a unique storyline! I can't wait to read the next book.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Linda Bloodworth has created a very unique world within the town of Fallingbrook that includes Angels, Demons, Vampires, Elves, and even a dragon in a different take on an Angel vs Demon story. A lot of ground is covered in this story with several action packed events happening within just a short few days we find our heroine, Justice along with bff Moira, getting their worlds completely turned upside down. The non stop action was a bit overwhelming at times making emotions seem to be all over the place for the characters. (I would love to see more character development as the series progresses.)
In the midst of this magical and chaotic world created by the author there manages to be a love story, (two love stories actually if we don't leave out bff Moira) between Justice and Darien. I liked the concept of Darien's character and his curse only to be broken by someone that loves him. I did find his dialogue a little bit on the corny side however I do feel that it was a good tool in the story as it reinforced his being from another time.
With all that happened in this book I was beginning to wonder if it was going to be a stand alone or part of series as I wished some of the major action scenes happened with some down time in between. I was surprised when the ending had a cliff hanger.) I am interested in seeing how Justice's story continues and look forward to reading the next book in the series. Linda Bloodworth will be a new author to watch.
The author does offer a warning about violence which I felt was appropriate after having read the book I was surprised to see it was classified as a YA Paranormal book as the descriptive violence may be too much for younger readers or those that do not like graphically written scenes depicting violence. I found myself cringing in a few places as the author painted very vivid pictures. (This is either good or bad depending on reading preferences. I didn't feel it took anything away from the story but do know some readers could have an issue.)
This is the debut novel for Linda Bloodworth and she did it up right . There are angels, demons . witches . fairies not to mention a dragon or two. Let me introduce to Justice and her best friend Morai . All they want to do is finish high school with out getting bullied anymore and start a new life away from Fallingbrook. But there is more to both Justice and Mora, and that one fateful day will change their lives forever. They find their real identities and now the war has started and they need to embrace their birth rights and save the world.
I loved the characters in the book. Justice is a sweet everyday girl who just wants to finish high school. You can't help but fall in love with her , the things she goes through would kill most people but she is stronger then most. As she comes to terms with happened to her parents . She has to handle the evil that is coming You see her struggling to come to terms with everything . Mora is her best friend and my favorite character , she is feisty and straight forward . She is one kick ass little witch that is shy in one way but kick ass the next . The rest of the characters are very well written and are all there to help keep Justice safe and secure . Darien Raventhorn is a very mysterious character . He is a vampire and is drawn to Justice . You don't know if he is actually good or bad. Training her for the epic battle between good and evil .
I really liked this book , I got it and couldn't put it down . The story will suck you in cause you want to find out what Justice is and who is Darien Raventhorn, a vampire that is drawn to her. The story takes you on a ride from the very first page . Trust me you will shed a tear and have so many omg moments . You will want to throw you kindles but I suggest you don't , kindles are expensive.
There are twists and turns and you will love the feel of the book its builds and builds . The characters slowly reveal themselves to us . You will not get bored reading this book . If you want a good book check it out .
This story starts with Justice waking up from a dream, outside her home in her nightwear. Not only that, but she appears to have two 'muffins' growing out of her shoulder blades. She has no idea of what is going on, is afraid to tell her parents, and on top of that, needs to get ready to go back to the hell that is called high school.
A Raven's Touch includes some shocking (violent) scenes in the high school that are necessary to the storyline. So much happens in such a small amount of time, but it is well-written and paced so it doesn't feel rushed when you are reading it. There is a reference made in the beginning to Matt Smith's Doctor Who - or at least, I like to think so. This made me smile as I read through the beginning.
This is a story of friendships, hardships, love and hate. With vampires, witches, elves and angels who speak to "Him" on a daily basis, this is the start of a series that I am looking forward to continuing. Personally, I can't wait to read more about Darien and Justice, although Moira and Tom make me smile too. Definitely recommended.
* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and the comments here are my honest opinion. *
Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books! Feb 19, 2016
Justice St. Michaels, Darien Raventhorn, Moira O’Fhey, and Tom Reesor are in for a surprise of their life time. This four brave yet young fighters will have their lives changing in a way it would never be the same. True identities will be revealed and friendship will solidify into a family. Get ready for a ride you will never forget.
An epic battle is lurking in the shadows and Justice, Darien, Moira, and Tom with the help of others will have to face Seliki. This evil demon that has been tormenting Darien and now Justice and her family.
This story will allure you, by the time you realize how much into the book you are will be when you reached the end of the last page.
The author handle the graphic issues in an exceptional way. Each and every situation was done beautifully done and for that I am grateful. You will be left breathless and anxiously waiting for more.
Beautiful, unforgettable and inigmatic is how I would describe this book. I can't wait to see how the saga will unfold and see how good defeats evil once again.
I chose this book because reading through the blurb it sounded very much like something I could really enjoy and it fell into my favourite genre. I found the beginning a bit more violent than expected and it moved forward very quickly and this made it a little difficult to really get into, however as the story progresses I did begin to enjoy it. There were a few moments when I felt like we were missing important parts of the story and I had to go back and reread to make sure I didn't miss anything important. The characters were well thought out and the friendships that developed with the different characters was lovely. I felt that the idea behind this story was very well thought out and quite original, my only regret is that it wasn't longer, I really feel like this story could be so much more with some tweaking and perhaps if it were longer with more explanations as to what was happening. Overall I enjoyed the concept and would read the next in the series because I would really like to know what happens to the characters from here!
What an interesting twist on the fantasy and paranormal genre.
Justice St. Michaels is an 18 year old girl who has recently been dealt with secrets her family has been keeping from her, her entire life. In one day her entire life changes when her parents finally inform her of what they are and what her mission will be one day soon. In the small town that Justice lives there aren't many people who are privy to the St. Michaels secret, but those that are also have secrets of their own and interlock within the family. However, Justice never expected to be going on her "demon slaying" mission without her parents. What was supposed to be a mission for Him turns into a revenge mission with the help of Justice's friends Tom, Moira, Darien and Mr. Wolfjoy.
I have to admit, I'm not 100% what the point of the first few chapters of this book were towards the bigger story. Maybe if all the exploding and death had more to do with the actual story and Justice's family secret it might be more necessary.
This is my first book from this author as well as this genre, but I wanted to give it a shot. IT WAS AMAZING!!
This is my first time reading a book by this author and also this style of book im usually moreof a romance reader but decides after reading the blurb to give it a shot.
It follows the story of justice and moira to best friends who are bullied in highschool. As rhe story goes on justice finds out around her 18th birthday that her world is not as it seems, she is a halfling, her bff is a witch and their are angels, demons and vampires all around her.
For a y/a book i found it definitely was more for older teens but that it was fun and intriguing to read. The author put lots of detail into the book and kept me wanting to read it. There was some gore and suspense and a little romance as well. For a first time reader of this author/genre i will definitely read another of her books
A Ravens Touch by Linda Bloodworth 5 out of 5 stars One thing I love about reading paranormal books is they allow you to escape to a world that is make believe and adventurous. I had a feeling Ravens Touch was going to be a terrific ride, one that I wouldn’t want to put down, and I was right. I was hooked on this book as soon as I started to read it. Linda Bloodworth has a way of building characters and making you fall in love with them. She has a way of mapping out the setting and making it so you want to keep on reading. The characters were amazing. There are times when reading I get sick or annoyed with some characters in books. A Ravens touch did not have any of that. I loved them so much. They brought so much to the book and made it amazing. A Ravens touch had a magical feel to it. If you love these kind of books, then I highly recommend it.
Secrets can changes life for good or for bad but will a secret will break a friendship?
When 2 BFF love each other like sisters willing to take a billet for each other , when less expected is that both share a secret that will change their life forever. Losing the most important people in your life & knowing the person who's supporting you thru the hard time is the person people warned you about . When temptation knock on your door you want to run but the connection is stronger. Will you follow your heart? Or will you listen to those who are telling you he isn't trustworthy ?.. Actions speaks more than words.
Wow Linda Bloodworth you left me wanting to know what's next with Darien and Justice.
