Very enjoyable read for the first 1/3, which largely covered the philosophy around sustainable design while also highlighting specific techniques that work well. Got a bit repetitive about halfway through, but overall super interesting, can’t believe so many of the concepts that’s are just now going mainstream today were being explored by architects in the late 90s
Though dated (2001), still important and thought-provoking, even for those many of us who aren't architects or builders (who knows, maybe eventually some remodeling to our house might open an avenue to go solar in some way, make the house more energy efficient, etc.)... lots of good papers within, and inspiration regarding affordable green housing, green roofs, urban parkways, water conservation, and more. Very basic, not for the professional, but definitely opens up a lot of topics for thought and further learning.
