"Many of the paintings in this book were completed when I was much younger. That they spoke to the poet about his place in his own journey testifies to the power of art... Michel and I have never met. We live in different countries. We are of different generations. I do not speak french. He does not speak English. But we understands one another. Because that is what art does. It reaches out to complete strangers and connects us though our shared humanity."
