The Visitor

Rate this book
Rebecca Hooper has been visiting her mother on the dementia ward for 18 months.

She only has one other relative who she knows about - a reclusive brother - so she is shocked when she finds out someone else has been visiting as well.

When she takes an early trip to the ward, she sees an elderly gentleman walking away from her mother’s bedside.

He pretends not to hear her when she calls out to him, and she loses sight of him in the crowd.

Who is the Visitor?

When Rebecca finally corners him he seems more than happy to talk to her.

He says his name is Patrick Yates, and he claims he has been lonely since his wife died and so he comes to the hospital to visit some of the elderly patients.

But after talking with him Rebecca is suspicious.

He seems to know a lot about her family. And enjoys watching her discomfort when he brings up personal stories.

Is he really who he says he is?

Are his visits innocent?

Or are his motives more sinister?

'The Visitor' is a tense and suspenseful thriller with a twist that will leave you chilled.

Loved this bite size collection of fast paced, psychological thrillers - all in the format of very well written short stories. Great find and a great way to get my GoodReads stats up too 😊

Seemingly innocent, with the most sinister undertones. Clever!
