This was the first book I read written by Lisa Phillips - so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. It took me a bit to learn the characters and where they fit in. After I got frother into the book I enjoyed the storyline and how it developed and concluded. I like the faith aspect where Selena in particular learned to trust God and not just to rely on herself.

Definitely an exciting read….it probably would have been better if I had read the series before this. Without the backstories, it was a tad hard to understand the characters’ motivation….though the author did put in some of the characters’ history. Still it was good!

I received this free from the author without an expectation of a good review. These thoughts and opinions are all mine.

I had not read any of the other books in this series, and this novella was very hard to read without that context. Maybe if I had read some of the other novels I would have known who the characters were, but I felt pretty lost the whole time and did not ever feel invested in the main characters or the plot.
I received this novella after signing up for a newsletter, and was disappointed in this introduction to this author.

This book was amazing! Lisa is an incredible author. Every one of her stories are full of great characters. You don’t want to put the book down. It was full of action and suspense and emotion and real life. But in all of that they found that they could trust Jesus to get them through whatever they were facing. It is so worth the read. And it won’t take you long because you won’t want to stop reading it.

This story is very well written and could easily be a 5 star rating. The problem for me was that I received this free when I signed up for the author’s newsletter, and I believe it’s probably part of a series. I felt like I was missing some information. It did get better towards the end, however.

Lisa Phillips is one of my favorite authors. But, although this was a good read there was just something that didn’t sit well in my mind. Maybe it was the title and plot combo, I predicted a different plot based on the title.

This is my first book by this author and it was okay. I pushed to finish it because it wasn’t very long.

I didn’t find it exciting or suspenseful.

Exciting, teeth clenching and lots of danger and espionage. A couple who have had too many Challenges in their lives to trust anyone. It is hard to put down.

Enjoyed every word

I have enjoyed every word in this book. That may sound like hyperbole, but it is true. I only started reading this book earlier this morning, but I have not been able to put it down. I have many other books by Lisa Phillips, and I am very pleased that this one has now joined them.

Other than Peter being young (22 years old) which didn't seem very realistic, this was a very good read. I like to read books about cruising and wished there had been more about the ship.

Orion and Tori have been caught up in a mess since the first book. As they escape the militia and fight to get back to the smokejumper base, they find themselves dealing with some unexpected things. There was one thing in this book that I didn't feel was wrapped up, but it was still a good book.

I received an ARC copy of this book. All opinion expressed are my own.
